Objective: Recovery level during resting between repetitive exercises is the biggest factor determining performance in the following exercises. This study aimed to investigate the effect of inhalation of hyperoxic gas between high intensity rowing exercises on the muscle tissue oxygen consumption level using functional near infrared spectroscopy. Method: There were 8 male voluntary participants who were elite rowers with age 21.25±4.20 years, height 185±6.27 cm, weight 80.76±5.74 kg and body mass index 23.59±1.30 kg/m2. They were subjected to two repetitive 6-minutes submaximal exercise separated by 30 minutes of rest in which they inhaled gas having either 20% or 80% fraction of O2. Muscle tissue oxygen levels of the participants were monitored continuously with functional near infrared spectroscopy. Produced power, peak VO2, peak VCO2, gas exchange times, pre-exercise and post-exercise lactate concentrations and heart rates were measured during the exercises. In the resting period, lactate levels and heart rates were measured every three minutes. Results and conclusion It was found that oxygen levels did not differ significantly between the hyperoxic and normal gas inhaled between high intensity rowing exercises and that inhaling hyperoxic gas between exercises did not effect consumed O2 amount during the exercise whereas exhaled CO2 levels produced during the exercise had significant differences between the hyperoxic and normal gas. SPORCULARDA EREKTOR SPİNAE KAS YORGUNLUĞUNUN İŞLEVSEL YAKIN KIZILALTI SPEKTROSKOPİ VE YÜZEYSEL ELEKTROMİYOGRAFİ İLE DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ ÖZETKassal yorgunluk, kas kasılması yoluyla belirli bir gücün üretilmesinde ya da sürdürülmesinde ortaya çıkan yetersizlik olarak tanımlanır. Yorgunluk, sporcularda performansı etkileyen önemli etmenlerden birisidir. Bu nedenle de bu araştırmada “Sporcularda erektor spinae kas yorgunluğunun işlevsel yakın kızılaltı spektroskopi ve yüzeysel elektromiyografi ile değerlendirilmesi amaçlandı. Araştırmaya 22 sporcu (kürekçi=11, voleybolcu=11) ve 8 sedanter erkek gönüllü katıldı. Bireylerin erektor spinae kas yorgunluğunu değerlendirmek için modifiye Biering-Sorensen kassal dayanıklılık (BSKD) testi 10 dakika arayla iki kez uygulandı. İşlevsel yakın kızılaltı spektroskopi ve yüzeysel elektromiyogafi probları erektor spinae kasının L3 spinoz çıkıntısından merkeze 2.5 cm uzaklığa ve erektror spinae’nın her iki tarafına gelecek şekilde yan yana yerleştirildi. Ölçümler eşzamanlı alındı. Verilerin analizinde 3 yönlü karma varyans analizi (gruplar arası ve grup içi desen) kullanıldı. BSKD test süresi iki gruba göre de anlamlı şekilde en uzun olan grup kürekçilerdi (ort=274 sn). KOKK, OMF ve OCF yüzdelik değişim miktarları açısından gruplar arasında anlamlı bir farklılık saptanmadı. 1. ölçümde KOKK eğiminde (%/sn) düşüş gözlenirken 2.ölçümde artış gözlendi. Buna karşın OMF ve OCF eğimleri (%/sn) test boyunca doğrusal şekilde düşüş gösterdi. İşlevsel yakın kızılaltı spektroskopi sinyalinden elde edilen düğüm noktasına en geç ulaşan voleybolcular oldu. Aynı zamanda eğim1 açısından voleybolcular sedanterler göre daha düşük eğime sahipti. BSKD test süresince en büyük erim değerlerinin sedanter grupta olduğu tespit edildi. Sonuç olarak sporcuların yorgunluk değerlendirilmesinde YEMG ve İYKAS güvenilir ve kullanışlı bilgiler sağlamaktadır. Because of this, assessment of erector spinae muscle fatigue in athletes using Near Infrared Spectroscopy and Surface Electromyography" has been aimed in this research.22 athletes (11 rowers and 11 volleyball players) and 8 sedentary male voluntary people participated in the study. Two modified Biering-Sorenson muscle endurance (BSME) tests were applied with 10 minutes interval to evaluate the erector spinae muscle fatigue of people. Probe of Near-Infrared Spectroscopy and electrodes of Surface Electromyography were placed next to each other on each side of erector spinae muscle, above 2.5 cm from the L3 center and measurements were simultaneous. 3-way mixed variance analysis (between the groups and within group pattern) was used in the data analysis.BSME test times of rowers were the longest statistically compared to the other two grups (mean 274 s.). There was no significant difference for RMS, MNF and MDF percentage changes between the groups. RMS slope decline was observed in the first test whereas increase was observed in the second test. MNF and MDF slopes (%/s.) were in linear decline throughout the test.Inflection point determined from Near Infrared Spectroscopy signal were the longest for volleyball players. At the same time, volleyball players have lower slope of m1 compared to sedentary people. The highest range values were noticed in the sedentary group during the BSME test.As a result, SEMG and NIRS provide reliable and useful information for assessment of fatigue in athletes. The data obtained in this way is thought to give insight into training of athletes and their adaptations. Key words: BSME, Fatigue, NIRS and SEMG

KARATE SPORCULARINDA UYARILMA DÜZEYİNİN HEDEFE YÖNELİK HAREKET KOORDİNASYONUNA ETKİSİ Aytekin SOYKANÖZETDeğişik psikolojik süreçlerin yaşandığı müsabaka ortamında hareketin kontrolünü sağlamak yüksek psikolojik farkındalık ve fiziksel koordinasyon gerektirir. Morgan (2000)’a göre sporcunun performansını etkileyen birçok psikolojik olgu vardır. Bunların en önemlilerinden biri “kaygı” dır. Hedefe yönelik vuruşlarda hareket kontrolü karate’ de temel kuraldır. Bu çalışmada karate müsabakalarında otonom sinir sistemi uyarılma düzeyinin değişmesiyle, karate sporcularının hareket koordinasyonunda oluşan olası değişimler araştırlmıştır. Vuruşun kontrol anında hedef mesafesi araştırılan temel ölçüt olmuştur. Sporcunun uyarılma düzeyi iki karşıt durum için değerlendirilmiş olup birincisinde psikomotor gevşeme ve zihinsel sakinleşme, ikincisinde zihinsel yüklenmeyi sağlayan ulusal seçme müsabaka ortamı kullanılmıştır. Araştırma 14 A milli karate sporcusu ile yapılmıştır. Tüm fizyolojik ve performansa ait incelemeler iki farklı durumda test edilmiştir. Kalp atım hızı ve kalp atım hızı değişkenliği (KAHD), nefes ve alın derisi kan dolaşımı gibi parametreler fizyolojik veri, hedefe olan kontrollü karate tekniği ise performans verisi olarak kayıt edilmiştir. İki durum arasındaki farklar SPSS 14.0 istatisik paket programı ile değerlendirilip incelenmiştir.Shizen tai (sakin) ve kumite (müsabaka öncesi durum) ölçümlerinde iki durum arasında vuruş başarı puanı açısından anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamıştır. Kalp atım hızı ortalaması, KAHD ölçütlerinden RMSSD ve HF ile alın deri kan dolaşımında 0.15 Hz ritim süresinin iki durum arasında anlamlı farklılık (p = 0.05) taşıması, milli takım seçmesi öncesi sporcuların belirli ölçüde kaygı durumu yaşadıklarını teyit eder niteliktedir. Bu durumda karate sporcularının vuruş başarı puanlarında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmaması sporcuların uyarılmışlık seviyesinde vuruşlarını kontrol edebilildiklerine işaret etmektedir.Araştırma sonucunda karate sporcularının zihinsel yüklenme durumlarında dahi karate kurallarında yer alan rakip sporcuyu korumak amaçlı kontrol zorunluluğunu başarabildikleri tespit edilmiştir.EFFECT OF AROUSAL LEVEL ON TARGET ORIENTED MOVEMENT COORDINATION IN KARATE ATHLETESAytekin SOYKANSUMMARYIn competition different psycological processes effect movement control which requires a high level of awarennes and also physical fitness; among affecting psychological factors the most important one is “anxiety”.In karate target oriented movement control is an essential feature. In this study we aimed to evaluate the relationship between auotonomic nervus system arousal and possible changes in movement coordination. In this context the distance at target control was the measured performance variable. The arousal level of the athletes was evaluated in two opposite conditions, first during psychomotor relaxation and mental calmness, second at high mental load before the national selection matches.Fourteen national karate athletes took part in this study. All physiological and performance parameters were measured in the two different conditions. Heart rate and heart rate variablity (HRV) parameters, breathing and forehead skin vasomotion were the measured physilogical parameters.There was no significant difference between the two measurement conditions regarding all performance parameters. Shizen tai (relax naturel state) and kumite (regular karate competition) conditions differed significantly regarding mean heart rate, RMSSD and high frequancy (HF) rhytms of HRV, and also for the duration of the 0.15 Hz rhythm in forhead skin microcirculation. These physiological parameters denoted that a certain level of anxiety was experienced during the selection for the national team.As the target oriented movement control was not effected adequate arousal and anxiety central may be present in this karate athletes. This results show that karate athletes can apply adequate movement control even under high mental load conditions.

1.ÖZETAraştırmamız, İstanbul'da bir holdingin çalışanları ile gönüllülük esasına dayanarak, suda yapılan egzersizleri kara çalışmalarıyla karşılaştırmak ve kalp hızı değişkenliği (KHD) parametreleri üzerine etkilerini incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. 18 erkekten oluşan grupta yaş ortalaması 30,6 ± 5,56, boy ortalaması 175,2 ± 9,26 cm, ağırlık ortalaması 76,8 ± 9,66 kg ve ortalama yağ yüzdesi 16,4 ± 3,92 olarak bulunmuştur. Gönüllüler, Çapraz Tasarım Modeline göre sırasıyla Kara-Su ve Su-Kara egzersizleri için rastgele iki gruba ayrıldı. Katılımcıların KHD parametreleri iki egzersiz döneminin baş ve sonunda, toplam 4 kez 15 dakika kaydedilmiştir. Her ölçüm karada oturma (dikey), yatma (yatay) ve suda (watsu) olmak üzere üç ayrı konumda alınmıştır. Kayıtlarda, kalp atım aralıklarına 1 ms hassas Polar S810i telemetrik nabız ölçer kullanılmıştır. Shuttle Run Test ile aerobik düzey her periyodun baş ve sonunda değerlendirilmiştir.İki dönem uygulanan 8 haftalık antrenman iki dönemde de aerobik gücü % 20 artırmıştır (p0.05). Su egzersizleri ile KH ve KHD parametrelerinde daha yüksek değerlere ulaşılmışsa da, iki egzersiz türü arasındaki fark anlamlı değildir (p>0.05).Sonuç olarak, 8 haftalık aerobik su ve kara antrenmanı aerobik gücü eşit düzeyde artırırken, kalp hızı ve KHD üzerine etkilerinde farklılık bulunamamıştır. The aim of the study was to compare water exercises and land exercises and analyze their effects on parameters of heart rate variability (HRV).18 males participated in the study, the average age was 30,6 ± 5,56, the average height was 175,2 ± 9,26 cm, the average weight was 76,8 ± 9,66 kg and the fat percentage average was 16,4 ± 3,92. We employed a cross over design to investigate the effects of land and water exercises on HRV. The volunteers were randomly seperated into two groups to conduct land-water and water-land exercises in two successive periods. HRV parameters of all participants were recorded 4 times for 15 minutes at the beginning and at the end of two exercise periods. Each measurement was realized during sitting (vertical) and lying down (horizontal) on land, and in water (watsu). Polar 810i telemetric pulse measurer with the capability of recording the heart pulse intervals with 1 ms sensitivity was used to record heart rate. HRV parameters were determined by polar software in the time and frequency domains. Shuttle Run Aerobic Test was carried out at the beginning and at the end of each period to see the effects of training on the aerobic power. The aerobic training over 8 weeks increased the aerobic power approximately by 20% (p0.05). Although higher values of heart rate and HRV parameters were obtained by water exercises, the differences between the two exercises were not significant (p>0.05). In conclusion, while water and land exercises included in a 8 weeks aerobic training program increased the aerobic power equally, their effects on heart rate and HRV was also not different. 1. ÖZETÇalışmamızın amacı kürek sporunda ekibi oluşturan sporcuların ekibin performansına ne ölçüde bireysel katkıda bulunduklarını araştırmaktı. Çalışmamızı iki adet dört çifte (4x) ekibiyle gerçekleştirdik. Çalışmamız karada ve suda olmak üzere iki aşamalı olarak planlandı. Kara testleri iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. Sporcuların fiziksel performanslarını ölçmek için 2000m kürek ergometresi testi, fizyolojik kapasitelerini değerlendirmek için kademeli kürek ergometresi testi uygulanmıştır. 2000m kürek ergometresi testinde sporcuların bitiriş süreleri ve her kürekte ürettikleri güç RowPro® yazılımı ile sürekli kaydedildi. Kademeli kürek ergometresi testi süresince sporcuların kalp atım sayıları, oksijen alımları ve karbon dioksit atımları sürekli kayıt edildi (Zan® Ergospirometre). MaxVO2 ve Anaerobik Eşik değerleri Zan® yazılımı ve Wasserman® diyagramlarıyla belirlenmiştir.Su testleri dört çifte teknesi üzerinde tempo artırmalı kademeli test ve 2000m yarış testi olmak üzere iki bölümde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Su testlerinde sporcuların sağ ve sol küreklerde ürettikleri kuvvet, küreklerin suda taradığı açılar, tekne hızı ve ivmelenmesi (2 eksende) ile sporcuların kalp atım sayıları kaydedilmiştir. RowX-outdoor® veri kayıt cihazı ile elde edilen veriler Weba Expert® ve Dataplore® yazılımı ile değerlendirilmiştir. Ergometre bulguları ile yapılan korelasyon analizinde bitiriş süresi ile güç (p0,05). ÖZETŞ YER NDE Z H NSEL YÜKLENME VE EGZERS Z N KALP ATIM HIZIDEĞ ŞKENL Ğ ÜZER NDEK ETK SBu çalışma, stanbul'da faaliyet gösteren büyük bir holdingin üst düzeyyöneticileri ile bilgisayar mühendislerine uygulanmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı; işyerinde zihinsel yüklenme ve egzersizin kalp atım hızı değişkenliği üzerindeki etkisiniaraştırmak ve karşılaştırmaktır.Bu araştırmaya katılan toplam 30 kişiden (18'i erkek ve 12'si bayan) oluşangrupta yaş ortalaması 37,4 ± SD tür. Üst düzey yöneticilerden 11 kişi (9 erkek-2 kadın),bilgisayar mühendislerinden 19 kişi (9 erkek-10 kadın) araştırmaya katılmıştır. Bütünkatılımcılar demografik ve antropometrik verileri bir form ile toplanmıştır.Tüm katılımcıların kalp atım hızları birer hafta aralıkla iki gün ve günde ikiölçüm olmak üzere toplam dört kez birer saat boyunca kaydedilmiştir. Kalp atım hızlarıkaydı için kalp atım aralıklarını 1 ms hassaslıkta kaydedebilen polar 810i telemetriknabız ölçer saat kullanılmıştır. Spor bilimleri çok farklı disiplinleri bir çatı altında birleştiren yapısıyla Türkiye'de hızla gelişmektedir. Buna rağmen halen ülkemizde spor yeteneğinin ortaya çıkarılması ve yönlendirilmesi, büyük ölçüde gözlemlere ve rastlantılara kalmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı güreş sporu bağlanımda genetik analiz yöntemlerinin uluslararası başarı için ne dercede öngörü kazandırabileceğini araştırmaktır. Bu doğrultuda uluslararası düzeyde basanlar elde etmiş elit 49 Türk güreşçisinin Angiotensin Converting (dönüştürücü) Enzim (ACE) polimorfizmi belirlenmiş ve 100 kişilik gönüllü, sağlıklı, erkek genel populasyonla karşılaştırılmıştır. Güreşçiler ve spor yapmayanlar arasında alel frekans yoğunluğunu analizinde iki grup arasında anlamlı bir farklılık görülmemektedir. Buna rağmen güreşçilerin ve güreşçi olmayanların İD genotipinde daha fazla yığılma gösterdikleri belirlenmiştir. Anlamlı bir fark olmamakla birlikte II genotipine sahip olan güreşçi sayısı, sporcu olmayanlara oranla daha azdır. Araştırmamıza katılan (49 kişi) güreşçilerde ACE genotipi II olanların sayısı 5 kişi olup % 10,2 'sini oluşturmakta, normal popülasyonda ise; 100 kişide ACE genotipi II olanların sayısı 18 kişi olup % 18'ini oluşturmaktadır. ACE genotipi DD olan güreşçilerin 15 kişi olup % 30,6'sını oluşturmakta, normal popülasyonda, ACE genotipi DD olanların sayısı 36 kişi olup % 36' sim oluşturmaktadır. İD genotipine her iki grupta II ve DD genotiplerine göre daha fazla rastlanmıştır: 29 güreşçide İD genotipi (% 59,2), genel popülasyonda 46 kişide İD genotipi (% 46) bulunmuştur. Güreşçi ve normal popülasyonun genelinde ise II genotipinde olanların sayısı 23 kişi (% 15,4), DD genotipinde olanların sayısı 51 kişi (%34,2), İD genotipinde olanların sayısı ise 75 kişi (% 50,3) olarak tespit edilmiştir. Güreşçiler ve spor yapmayanlar arasında alel frekans yoğunluğu kaykare testi ile değerlendirildiğinde anlamlı bir fark bulunamamıştır (p>0.05). Elit güreşçilerde ile sedanter grup ACE genotipi verileri karşılaştırılarak, sporcunun küçük yaşta bu spor branşına yönlendirilmesi ve yetenek seçimi kapsamında ACE gen polimorfizmi taramasının kullanılıp kullanılamayacağı sorusuna cevap aranmıştır. Comparison of Angiotensin Converting Enzim (ACE) Gene Polymorphisms in Elite Turkish Wrestlers and the Sedentary Population The multi-disciplinary structure of sports sciences is rapidly evolving in Turkey. Unfortunately, to a great extent talent identification and orientation in Turkey rests on chance and observation. The aim of this study is to evaluate the contribution of genetic analysis to the selection process for international elite wrestling. In this context, we have analyzed gene polymorphism in blood samples of 49 international elite Turkish wrestlers in comparison with 100 healthy, sedentary voluntary men. The results of our study show that there are no significant differences between the wrestlers and the sedentary group regarding the allele frequencies. However, in both groups there was a crowding of the heterozygote ID genotype. Although not at significant level, there was a marked difference between the groups for the II genotype. Five (%10,2) of the wrestlers had ACE genotype II, whereas in the sedentary population 18 (%18) persons had ACE genotype II (p>0.05, chi-square test). Fifteen (%30,6) of the wrestlers had ACE genotype DD, whereas in the sedentary population 36 (%36) persons had ACE genotype II (p>0.05, chi-square test). Twenty-nine (%59,2) of the wrestlers had ACE genotype DD, whereas in the sedentary population 46 (%46) persons had ACE genotype II (p>0.05, chi-square test). Taken both groups together, 23 subjects (% 15,4) had genotype II, 51 subjects (%34,2) had genotype DD, and 75 subjects (% 50,3) had genotype ID.
