Purpose: This paper aims to determine the problems of web citation accessibility in the Turkish Librarianship journal. Method: For this purpose, bibliographic records of the peer-reviewed studies published in the Turkish Librarianship journal between the years 2005 and 2020 were downloaded from the DergiPark archive and web citations were obtained according to the selected publication types. Then, usage rate of web citations, their access levels, the half-life of URLs, and accessibility of top-level domain names were identified and analyzed. Findings: It has been observed that web citations are frequently used in peer-reviewed articles in the Turkish Librarianship journal, and it has been understood that the usage trend has been increasing continuously in recent years. The average half-life of web citations in data is three years. In addition, the accessibility rate of web citations used in recent articles is higher than earlier ones. Implications: The findings indicate that there have been persistent decay and accessibility issues in the web citations of the Turkish Librarianship journal, and support policies encouraging the use of persistent identifiers should be developed to increase the accessibility of web citations. Originality: This is the first study in the Turkish academic literature to investigate the status of web citations of articles based in Turkey. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
