Inledning: Att utbilda röntgensjuksköterskestudenter att ta bilder med i första hand konventionell röntgen har alltid varit svårt då man har varit hänvisad till fantomer eller rollspel på grund av strålningen. Med utvecklingen av VR uppkommer dock frågan om det kan bidra som komplement till utbildningen. Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen var att beskriva om VR kan användas i röntgensjuksköterskeutbildningen. Metod: Studien utfördes som en allmän litteraturöversikt där en kvalitativ och nio kvantitativa vetenskapliga artiklar ingick i analysen efter sökningar i 3 databaser. Resultat: Det mesta pekade på att VR kan vara ett bra komplement i röntgensjuksköterskeutbildningen då studenterna uppvisade större säkerhet i positionering och ökat självförtroende vid bildtagning. Dock upplevdes inlärningskurvan av VR som tidskrävande och behov av mer forskning inom området finns. Resultatet visade även att utbildningsanordnaren måste anpassa och utveckla hur de lär ut. Slutsats: Många studenter är efter avslutade studier osäkra på röntgenbildtagning när de kommer till sin första arbetsplats. Kan användandet av VR i röntgensjuksköterskeutbildningen leda till en högre nivå av självsäkerhet och potentiellt ökad kunskap om positionering får det anses vara fördelaktigt. Introduction: Teaching radiography students to be able to take good quality x-ray images has always been a problem since they have been referred to phantoms or roleplay given the radiation. With the development of VR, the question has been raised if that could serve as a complement. Aim: The purpose of this study was to describe if VR could be used during radiography education. Method: The study was conducted as a literature review where one qualitative and nine quantitative scientific articles were analysed after searching 3 databases. Result: Most findings point to that VR might be a good compliment to regular radiography education since the students exhibit improved patient positioning and enhanced self-confidence while taking x-ray images. The learning curve with VR was however deemed as somewhat time consuming and more research seems necessary. The result also shows that the provider of the education must adapt and develop the way they teach. Conclusion: Many students feel insecure about x-ray imaging upon starting at their first place of work. If the use of VR in radiography education might raise the level of self-confidence as well as potentially increase the knowledge of positioning it might be considered beneficial.

I detta kandidatarbete undersöker vi hur med hjälp av virtuell verklighet (VR) kan gestalta en fabriksmiljö och upplevelse som ökar säkerhetstänket för nyanställda på Volvo i Olofström. Undersökningen utgår ifrån vårt samarbete med Volvo och deras egen fabrik som är i fokus där de har velat ha en säkerhetsutbildning inom VR för deras nyanställda och gångtrafikanter i fabriken. Med hjälp av designperspektivet digital didaktisk design har vi kunnat ställa i centrum på lärandet i görandet, att planera och skapa aktiviteter för någon så att användaren i fråga kan tillägna sig nya kunskaper. Frågeställningen inom denna undersökning är “Hur kan man skapa en fabriksmiljö inom VR som främjar lärande.” Med hjälp av metoderna vi valde för designprocessen kunde vi gestalta en fabrik som simulerar deras och även främja lärandet för säkerhetstänket som var en viktig del att komma till insikt om. Resultatet på undersökningen är att vi skapade en VR-prototyp med hjälp utav spelmotorn Unity. I denna VR-prototyp tar användaren igenom sig en livlig och hektisk fabriksmiljö som speglar det vi själva har fått uppleva genom våra observationer när vi var på besök hos Volvo i Olofström. Genom våra undersökningar inom VR säkerhet har vi upphöjt vår förståelse om vilka möjligheter VR har inom lärandet och att förmedla information. Dem viktiga punkterna för oss var att öka säkerhetstänket hos användaren genom att placera dem i scenarion där deverkligen får uppleva hur det verkligen är att vara inom en livlig fabrik och vad som förväntas av dem. Nyckelord: Virtuell verklighet (VR), säkerhetsträning, fabriksmiljö, Volvo In this bachelor thesis, we investigate how, with the help of virtual reality (VR), we can create a factory environment and experience that increases the safety thinking for new employees at Volvo in Olofström. The survey is based on our collaboration with Volvo and their own factory, which is in focus where they have wanted a safety training in VR for their new employees and pedestrians in the factory. With the help of the design perspective digital didactic design, we have been able to put the focus on learning in practice, to plan and create activities for someone so that the user in question can acquire new knowledge. The question in this study is "How to create a factory environment within VR that promotes learning." With the help of the methods we chose for the design process, we were able to design a factory that simulates theirs and also promote learning for safety thinking, which was an important part to gain insight into. The result of our research is that we have created a prototype with the help of the game engine Unity through this process that takes the user through a lively and hectic factory environment that reflects what we ourselves have experienced through our observations when we visited Volvo in Olofström. Through our research in VR security, we have raised our understanding of what opportunities VR has in learning and to convey information. Utveckling inom digitala- och sociala medier håller på att omdefiniera hur åskådarskap kommer se ut i framtiden. I kombination med en pandemi och en global klimatkris ställer det nya krav på hur sportarenor kan generera besökare till sina evenemang. Studiens syfte var därför att skapa förståelse för vilka förväntningar besökaren har på en virtuell arena samt skapa förståelse för vilka faktorer som är avgörande för användarens avsikt att besöka en virtuell arena. Studien har en kvalitativ ansats och empiri har samlats in genom tre strukturerade fokusgrupper. Unified theory of acceptance and use of technology 2 (UTAUT 2) användes som baslinje i studien och har utifrån analys och diskussion av studiens empiri utökats med fler element för att vara applicerbar i den befintliga fallet. Resultatet visade att en virtuell arena bör bidra med ett mervärde jämfört med en fysisk arena. Detta genom tillgång till exklusivt material och exklusiva områden. Vidare drogs slutsatserna att förväntad möjlighet till social interaktion, förväntad förbättrad informations- och upplevelsekonsumtion och förväntad möjlighet till personaliserad upplevelse har indirekt inverkan på användarens avsikt att använda den virtuella arenan genom hedonisk motivation och prestationsförväntan. Förväntad ansträngning visade sig vara en avgörande faktor som i sin tur påverkas av tillgänglighet, användarvänlighet och teknisk prestanda. Prisvärde visade sig vara en starkt avgörande faktor. Slutligen konstaterades intresse för sporten vara en ny modererande faktor med direkt inverkan på användarens avsikt att besöka den virtuella arenan. Development within digital and social media is redefining how spectators will experience sport in the future. In combination with a pandemic and a global climate crisis, it creates new demands on how sports arenas can generate visitors to their events. The aim of this study was therefore to gain an understanding of the visitor’s expectations on a virtual arena as well as to identify key factors that affect the consumer’s intention to visit a virtual arena. The study has a qualitative approach and empirical data has been collected through three structured focus groups. Unified Theory of acceptance and use of technology 2 (UTAUT 2) was used as a theoretical foundation and was extended with more elements through analysis and discussion, to better suit the current situation. The results of the study indicated that a virtual arena should contribute added value compared to a physical arena, through access to exclusive material and exclusive areas. Furthermore, it was concluded that expected opportunity for social interaction, expected improved information- and experience consumption and expected opportunity for personalized experience have an indirect impact on the visitor’s intention to use the virtual arena through hedonic motivation and performance expectancy. Effort expectancy proved to be a crucial factor which in turn is affected by accessibility, ease of use, and technical performance. Price value is shown to be a strong decisive factor. Finally, it is stated that interest in the sport is a new moderating factor with a direct impact on the user’s intention to visit the virtual arena.

In this essay, Choreography within cinematic virtual reality (VR) is investigated through the genre of screen dance. The purpose is to contribute to the knowledge of choreography by investigating the experience of the medium from the perspective of the viewer/participant and the importance of the site. Essentially, using a laboratory approach, a choreography has been developed in two stages which after being filmed with different dancers at different sites, has been the starting point to the analysis. Part of the approach has also been that I myself actively participated in the whole process by taking on different roles. My participation was threefold; first as a dancer/choreographer, then as choreographer/participant/viewer, when the dancers came into the process, and finally as participant/viewer. As a theoretical point of departure, the concepts of affect, emotion and emotional expression are used to create an understanding of how an experience is created in 3D with the help of choreography and locations. The importance of a site was investigated though three different concepts which include the physical location, technology as a location, and the thirdspace. With the help of these concepts, it is shown how a physical location changes and becomes a thirdspace with the help of technology. Because of technology, this leads to the acceptance of the thirdspace as the fictional location equivalent to reality by the viewer/participant. The term kinesthetic perception explains the phenomena of how the viewer bodily experiences being "there". The result of my study has revealed that for a deeper experience to occur, the traditional film convention of 180 degrees must be challenged and supplanted by the 360 degree rule where the relationship between the viewer/participant, choreographer and the location are in focus and where engaging the moment of point of interest (POI) is allowed to happen. Further each viewer/participant has their own impression of what is taking place, unlike a scenic or performative action, the experience in cinematic VR is not shared directly with other viewer/participant.

Kulturarv som exempelvis hällmålningar, artefakter eller historiska byggnader anses som en värdefull tillgång i det svenska samhället och ska vara tillgängligt för alla. Virtual Reality (VR) är en teknisk innovation som kan göra det möjligt för personer att uppleva kulturarv virtuellt, utan något krav på fysisk förflyttning, genom ett par så kallade VR-glasögon. VR erbjuder således nya sätt att presentera och uppleva kulturarv och bidrar till en ökad tillgänglighet till upplevelser, framförallt för personer med en fysisk funktionsnedsättning. Myndigheter i Sverige arbetar ständigt med att förbättra tillgängligheten till kulturarv där den svenska regeringen pekar på att tillgänglighetsarbetet har kommit relativt långt, men att det finns många utmaningar kvar. Tillgänglighet handlar om mer än bara de fysiska aspekterna av en plats. Det behövs en kreativ utveckling kring hur kulturarv kan upplevas och göras mer tillgängliga. Detta genom exempelvis en digital tillgänglighet. Den svenska regeringens proposition angående kulturarvspolitik lyfter att arbetet med tillgänglighet och digitalisering för kulturarv är tydliga prioriteringar inom kulturarvspolitiken. Riksantikvarieämbetet är den myndighet som ska leda och stödja utvecklandet med kulturarv men ställer sig kritiska mot användningen av VR-upplevelser för kulturarv. Denna studie syftar till att få en ökad förståelse hur det digitala verktyget VR kan skapa en ökad tillgänglighet till ett urval av kulturarv i Jämtland/Härjedalen för personer med en fysisk funktionsnedsättning. Studien ämnar även till att identifiera möjligheter och utmaningar kring VR-tekniken för ett urval av verksamheter med och utan en aktiv VR-upplevelse. Vidare syftar studien till att undersöka hur autenticitet kan upplevas olika genom VR. Slutligen ämnar studien även till att övergripande belysa VR-teknikens möjligheter att bidra till den svenska regeringens prioriteringar kring tillgänglighet och digitalisering för kulturarv. Utifrån den insamlade empirin kommer studien diskutera Riksantikvarieämbetets kritiska ställning till VRupplevelser för kulturarv. Studien är formad som en kvalitativ fallstudie där platsobservationer och semi-strukturerade intervjuer har använts för att samla in empiri. Studiens huvudsakliga slutsats visar att VR är ett användbart verktyg att använda för att skapa en ökad tillgänglighet till kulturarv för personer med en fysisk funktionsnedsättning. Autenticiteten för kulturarv som upplevs i VR anses mindre viktigt än att vara entusiastisk till vad tekniken kan erbjuda i ett berättande och tillgänglighetsgörande syfte. 2020-06-08

I detta kandidatarbete undersöker jag hur man med hjälp av virtuell verklighet (VR) kan skapa en fabriksmiljö för att bidra till ökad medvetenhet och säkerhetstänk i fabriken. Undersökningen baseras på en utmaning från Volvo med deras egen fabrik i fokus där dem velat ha en säkerhetsutbildning för deras gångtrafikanter i fabriken. Med hjälp av designperspektivet design thinking har Volvo fått vara delaktiga genom hela processen där vi kunnat skapa en produkt åt dem tillsammans. Undersökningens frågeställning är “Hur kan man med hjälp av Virtual Reality skapa upplevelsen av fabriksmiljö för att bidra till ökad medvetenhet och säkerhetstänk i fabriken?” där jag valt att gestalta detta i ett spel integrerat med VR. Med hjälp av de valda metoderna för designprocessen kunde jag sätta mig in i Volvos problem och skapa en fabrik som efterliknar deras så mycket som möjligt. Volvo själva fick ta del av skapandet genom bilder och videor för att ge feedback om miljön, samt hur realistisk upplevelsen kändes jämfört med deras egen fabrik. För att gestaltningen skulle testas och godkännas av Volvo involverades dem konstant i arbetet. Undersökningen resulterade i ett VR spel med en kort säkerhetsutbildning om fabrikens miljö och vissa faror som kan komma att ske i den. Eftersom ökad medvetenhet och säkerhetstänk hos personer inom arbetet inte kan mätas direkt har frågeställningen kunnat blivit besvarad efter endast ett fåtal test. De personer från Volvo som har testat det gav positiv respons och nya tankar och idéer kring tekniska utbildningar inom säkerhet som dessa har väckts hos många. In this bachelor thesis I’m examining how to create a factory environment with virtual reality (VR) to contribute to increased awareness and safety mindset in the factory. The examination is based on a challenge from Volvo with their own factory in focus where they wanted to have a safety training for their pedestrians in the factory. With help from the design perspective design thinking, Volvo has been involved through the whole process where we could create a product for them together. The survey question is ”How can you with help from Virtual Reality create the experience of a factory environment to contribute to increased awareness and safety mindset in the factory?” where I chose to shape this into a game integrated with VR. With help from the selected methods for the design process I could put myself into Volvo’s problem and create a factory that resembles theirs as much as possible. Volvo took part of the creation themselves through pictures and videos to provide feedback on the environment and how realistic the experience felt compared to their own factory. For the design to be tested and approved by Volvo, they were constantly involved in the project. The examination resulted in a VR game with a short safety training about the environment of the factory and some dangers that may occur in it. Because increased awareness and safety thinking in people within the work can not be measured directly, the survey question has been answered after only a few tests. The people at Volvo who have tested it gave positive results and new thoughts and ideas about technical training in security, such as these, have been awakened by many.

The tools available to architects in the design process are constantly being enhanced and developed, which paves the way to try out new methods and techniques. The current widespread availability of commercial drones, sophisticated surveying instruments and advanced calculation software, makes it possible to create detailed digital representations of reality, in the form of context models. Context models in combination with real-time rendering, through game engines and visualization with the help of Interactive Virtual Environments (IVE), lets architects recreate planned buildings in a realistic virtual context. The study examines how the architect can leverage the benefits of context models and IVE in the architectural design process and presents a method which can be used by architect- and consultant firms. A qualitative research method is used to accomplish this goal, where data is gathered through interviews and a workshop with practicing architects, but also a case study is performed to evaluate the presented method. All the collected data is compartmentalized and analyzed with a method called Pattern Matching, where expected theoretical patterns are compared to the empirical data that appear from the collected data. The study shows that the use of context models and IVE has great benefits in several varying phases of the design process, where benefits in communication is presented as the main contributing factor. With that said, there are concerns regarding implementation of the tools in early stages of the design process, where the possibility to present a misleading IVE is regarded as a potential risk. A presented benefit of using context models and IVE is the ability to create virtual presence. Also, the ability to present the building in its real context proved to be a great benefit in the study. These are closely tied to the benefits of IVR (Immersive Virtual Reality), in cases where visualization of volumes and spaces is needed, which is enhanced by a detailed context model. Finally, a method for architects and consultants to use context models and IVE in the design process is presented. The method is summarized to involve different expertise in the organization to carry through different tasks in the workflow, in order to let the architect focus on the design of the building, but still leverage the benefits of the visualization tools. A conclusion that is drawn, is that the presented method needs to be evaluated further, in order to prove its efficiency. If that is the case, the method might be a step in a new path for the ever changing role of the architect. Verktygen som är tillgängliga för en arkitekt under gestaltningsprocessen utvecklas konstant, vilket banar väg för att testa nya arbetsmetoder och tekniker. Den numera breda tillgängligheten till kommersiella drönare, sofistikerade mätinstrument och avancerade beräkningsprogram gör det möjligt att på smidiga sätt framställa detaljerade digitala verklighetsrepresentationer, i form av kontextmodeller. Tillsammans med realtidsrendering, genom spelmotorer och visualisering med hjälp av interaktiva virtuella miljöer (Interactive Virtual Environements, IVE), kan arkitekter idag återskapa planerade byggnader i en verklighetstrogen virtuell kontext. Studien tittar på hur arkitekten kan dra nytta av kontextmodeller och IVE i gestaltningsprocessen och presenterar en arbetsmetod som kan tillämpas av arkitekt – och teknikkonsultbyråer. För att uppnå detta tillämpas en kvalitativ forskningsmetod, där data samlas in genom intervjuer och workshop tillsammans med arkitekter och en praktisk tillämpning i form av en fallstudie. All samlade data sammanställs och analyseras med en så kalla mönstermatchning (eng. Pattern Matching), där förväntade teoretiska mönster jämförs med de empiriska mönster som träder fram ur datamängden. Studien visar att användning av kontextmodeller och IVE har stora fördelar i flera olika skeden av gestaltningsprocessen, där främst kommunikationsvinster presenteras som en huvudsaklig bidragande faktor. Däremot råder viss oro för implementering av tekniken i allt för tidiga skeden och även risker med att presentera förvirrande och missvisande IVE lyfts fram som en risk. En fördel som presenteras är kontextmodellers och IVEs förmåga att skapa virtuell närvaro, men också möjligheten att presentera en byggnads omgivning virtuellt, presenterades som en stor vinst i studien. Detta är starkt kopplat till fördelarna som IVR (Immersive Virtual Reality) bidrar med, i frågor om att visualisera volymer och rumsligheter, något som förstärks av en detaljerad kontextmodell. Slutligen presenteras en arbetsmetod för hur teknikkonsulter och arkitekter kan tillämpa kontextmodeller och IVE under gestaltningsprocessen. Arbetsmetoden sammanfattas till att enskilda kompetensområden med fördel utför olika delar av processen, vilket tillåter arkitekten att fokusera på gestaltningsarbetet, men samtidigt dra nytta av visualiseringsteknikerna. En slutsats som dras är att den framtagna arbetsmetoden måste förankras i verkligheten, genom att tillämpas i ett verkligt projekt innan den kan bevisas som effektiv. Om den i framtiden bevisas effektiv kan arbetsmetoden visas vara ett steg i ny riktning för ett skiftande arbetssätt inom arkitektyrket.

Detta examensarbete genomfördes hos ett tillverkande företag utanför Stockholm. Företagets produktion består delvis av egenbyggda maskiner. Lämpliga instruktioner för underhåll, riggning samt felsökning fanns inte tillgängliga för dessa maskiner. En av de mest kritiska avdelningarna hos företaget kallas för klipp- och rullavdelningen. För tillfället finns endast en operatör i avdelningen som känner till samtliga maskiners funktioner. Denna operatör innehar så kallad tyst kunskap. Målet med detta examensarbete har varit att dokumentera tyst kunskap genom digitalisering av instruktioner. Efter att mål, problemdefinition och tillvägagångssätt fastställts gjordes en faktainsamling som bestod av primär- och sekundärdata. Diskussioner med företagets VD och de operatörer som arbetar i den aktuella avdelningen genomfördes. Detta bidrog till en djupare förståelse av problemet som i sin tur skapade en grund för hur digitaliseringen skulle ske. Arbetet bestod även av en teoretisk referensram vars syfte var att bidra till förståelse av vetenskaplig karaktär. I den teoretiska referensramen studerades även det nya konceptet för digitalisering inom industrin och dess påverkan på små och medelstora företag (SMF). Digitaliseringen karaktäriseras av smart teknologi. I dagsläget anses inte vissa smarta teknologier, så som virtual reality (virtuell verklighet) och augmented reality (förstärkt verklighet) tillämpbara hos företaget. Augmented reality (AR) kan dock komma att underlätta reparation och liknande arbetsuppgifter i framtiden. Den metod som valdes för att ta fram instruktioner var videoinspelning. Tillämpning av detta ansågs vara ett adekvat val då projektet utfördes. För att kunna spela in, redigera och använda videoinstruktioner krävs dock kompatibel hård- och mjukvara. De rekommendationer som gavs till företaget var att lagra filerna på ett intranät eller någon molntjänst som skapar lättillgänglighet. Förutom videoinstruktioner rekommenderas även praktisk handledning av en erfaren operatör. Detta skapar en kombination av praktisk och teoretisk inlärning. Instruktioner för hur företaget ska redigera och lagra videoinspelningarna togs fram för att skapa ett standardiserat arbete. This project was conducted at a manufacturing company outside of Stockholm. Production is partially operated by machines that are manufactured by the company; however, appropriate maintenance instructions, machine settings and error search are currently unavailable for these machines. The most critical department within the workshop is called “cut and roll”, the department only has one operator who has full knowledge of the machines and their functions. This type of knowledge possessed by the operator is called tacit knowledge. The aim of this project is to document and transfer the tacit knowledge through digitalisation of instructions. After defining the problem, methods and aims of the project, primary and secondary data was collected. Furthermore, discussions were held with the chief executive of the company and the operators working in the cut and roll department. This led to a deeper understanding of the main problem and created a foundation for the methods used to digitalise instructions. The project also contains a literature review to conduce the scientific aspects of the problem. Moreover, the upcoming concept regarding digitalisation within manufacturing companies and its effect on small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) was also taken into consideration. The concept is characterised by smart technology. These types of technologies, e.g. virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), are not adequate to implement in the company today. Even so, AR could be a complementary tool regarding maintenance and similar tasks in the future. The method used to digitalise instructions was video recording, serving as the most adequate digital tool whilst executing the project. However, compatible hardware and software is necessary to create video instructions. Recommendations proposed to the company are that instructions should be stored in an intranet or cloud; and, in addition to video instructions, practical supervision given by an experienced operator is recommended. Thereby giving a combination of both practical and theoretical learning. Instructions on how to edit and store the videos was created to maintain standardized working methods.

Med detta kandidatarbete så prövar samt undersöker vi möjligheterna till en “praxisgemenskap” inom Games for Change genom digitala spel med tekniken virtuell verklighet (VR). Genom prövningen i sig så testar sig denna undersökningen fram med en stark analysmetod från spelbranschen. Detta för att kunna definiera hur man kan skapa ett spel som får spelaren att tänka kring ett fåtal utvalda diskussionsämnen som baseras på i den digitala gestaltningen om vad som är GROW’em. Vår frågeställning är: “Hur kan man med hjälp av digitala spel inom VR förmedla diskussion samt tankar kring hortikultur?”, och vi har valt att gestalta detta genom att utveckla ett spel vid namn GROW’em. Nyfikenhet kring detta ämne väcktes inombords efter att vi undersökt närmare inom spelupplevelsen som GROW’em är baserad på. Men vad vi vet, efter att ha genomgått en lång sökhistorik, så finns det inte någon upplevelse som liknar den erfarenhet och område såsom hortikultur vilket vi vill komma åt. För att testa denna undersökning så gav vi diverse individer chansen att testspela igenom gestaltningens demo som varade mellan 10-15 minuter, dessa individer fick sedan besvara på ett frågeformulär kring deras spelupplevelse. Undersökningen resulterade i ett digitalt spel i samband med den fysiska hårdvaran av VR. Med resultat som ger till följd av nya synvinklar på en framtida planering av projektet. Dessa resultat gav även en indikation på hur rimlig vår undersökning är i mån av frågeställningen som vi ställer With this bachelor thesis, we try and explore the possibilities of a "practice community" within Games for change through digital games with the technology of virtual reality (VR). Through the work itself, this study tests itself with a strong analysis method from the gaming industry. This is to be able to define how one can create a game that causes the player to think about a few selected discussion topics based on the digital design of what GROW’em is. Our question is: "How can one with the help of VR convey discussions and thoughts about horticulture?", which we have chosen to create this by developing a game called GROW’em. Curiosity about this subject was brought onto us after we examined in more detail within the gaming experience of what GROW'em is based on. But what we know, after having gone through a long search history, is that there’s no immersion that resembles the experience and areas as a horticultural culture that we want to access. To test this study, we gave different individuals the chance to try a demo that lasted between 10-15 minutes. These individuals then had to answer a questionnaire about their experience. The investigation resulted in a digital game in conjunction with the physical hardware of VR. With results that puts things in a new perspective on a future planning of the project. These answers also provided an indication of how reasonable our inquiry is, to the extent of the framing of a question that we ask.

Detta examensarbete är utfört för att generellt beskriva VR och ge underlag för Skymaps tillämpning om att i ett ombyggnadsskede visa ATA Timbers sågverk i VR. Modellen skall vara tilltalande för kunden i VR. Under modelleringen har hänsyn tagits till Skymaps önskemål om vilka programvaror som skall användas. Utformningen av sågverket är redan fastställt och därför kommer underlag endast användas för att ritas av. Resultatet uppnås genom att granska, utreda och tillämpa tekniken. Resultatet av examensarbetet blev som förväntat, en 3D-modell av sågverket i Sandsjöfors finns nu att använda sig av vid ATA Timbers om- och tillbyggnadsprocess.

Detta arbete ämnar undersöka kunders beslutsprocess när de i en virtuell verklighet (ofta används förkortningen av det engelska begreppet virtual reality, VR) tar del av ett företags produkter. Först de senaste åren har tekniken blivit så pass bra att gemene man kan ta del av den. Virtuell verklighet är alltså förhållandevis nytt inom sammanhang som riktar sig till den stora massan. Därför är det av stort intresse att undersöka hur ett företag kan använda sig av en sådan applikation för att förmedla sina produkter och hur applikationen då kan utformas för att underlätta beslutsprocessen. I arbetet undersöktes vilka faktorer som påverkade denna beslutsprocess genom att se på kundernas interaktion med den virtuella miljön ur ett lärandeperspektiv. För att göra detta undersöktes i arbetet ett fall där köksrenoveringsföretaget Modexa ville förmedla sina produkter i en VR-applikation till sina kunder. Inom det övergripande arbetssättet aktionsforskning användes i arbetet metoder som fokusgrupper, ljudinspelning och semi-strukturerade intervjuer för att samla in datan som behövs. En styrgrupp och en testgrupp bestående av anställda på Modexa användes i datainsamlingen. Under tre iterationer samlades data in som kontinuerligt förändrade prototypen av VR-applikationen som deltagarna fick uppleva. I stort resulterade arbetet i att mer forskning behövs inom området. Den hårdvara som valdes till denna undersökning innebar vissa begränsningar som möjligtvis hade kunnat förhindrats med annan val av hårdvara. De kompromisser som begränsningen av hårdvaran medförde diskuteras samt framtida tillämpningsområden av forskningen som bedrivits. This work aims to investigate customers’ decision-making in a virtual reality application where customers can evaluate a company’s products. In recent years VR-technology has come so far that ordinary people can experience it. Thus, virtual reality is relatively new in a context targeting the masses. It is therefore of great interest to investigate how a company can use such an application to communicate their products and how the application can be designed to facilitate the decision-making. This work examined the factors that influenced costumers’ decision-making by looking at the customer’s interaction with the virtual environment from a learning perspective. To do this, a case-study was examined where the kitchen refurbishment company Modexa wanted to convey their products in a VR-application to their customers. Within the overall approach of action research, methods were used for data gathering such as focus groups, audio recording and semi-structured interviews. A steering group and a test group of Modexa-employees were used in the collection of data. In three iterations data was collected to continuously change the VR-application prototype that was tested on the participants. A result of this work was that more studies are needed in this area. The hardware that was used resulted in some limitations that could have been avoided by using another hardware. The compromises that must be made cause of these limitations are discussed as well as future applications based on this research.
