I dagsläget finns det brister gällande datadelning mellan verkande aktörer itransportsektorn. Denna fallstudie fokuserar på vägtransport med avseende på last miledelivery samt sjöfartstransport och järnvägstransport. Mycket information finns ännu intedigitalt vilket gör att den blir otillgänglig för samtliga aktörer som är inblandade ileveranskedjan. Det finns inte något datadelningssystem för de inblandade aktörerna attdela sin data i. Detta gör i sin tur att det saknas en samlad lägesbild över logistikkedjanför gods. Med hjälp av digitalisering kan det uppnås en samlad lägesbild, det vill säga attalla inblandade ska få ta del av samma information samtidigt, vilket kan leda till att mankan uppnå effektivitet i distributionssystemet samt kunna reagera i realtid. Genom att använda sig av innovationsmodellen Living Labs kan man skapa projekt därman för samman aktörer och tar reda på aktörernas informationsbehov. Living Labs är eninnovationsmodell där aktörssamverkan står i centrum. Syftet med denna fallstudie är attutvärdera om innovationsmodellen Living Labs är en lämplig modell för att digitaliserainformationsflödet inom logistikkedjor för gods, genom att jämföra litteratur medrespondenternas svar från intervjuerna. Denna fallstudie ger en genomgång avlitteraturen, med hjälp av en litteraturstudie. Studien har även samlat in information frånintervjuer. This case study focuses on road transport regarding last miledelivery as well as shipping and rail transport. A lot of information is not yet availabledigitally, which makes it inaccessible to all actors that are involved in the supply chain. Syfte - Syftet med studien är att kartlägga hantering av information mellan original equipment manufacturer (OEM) och kontraktstillverkare. Syftet har brutits ner i tre frågeställningar: Vilken information skickas mellan OEM och kontraktstillverkare? Hur skickas information mellan OEM och kontraktstillverkare? Vilka faktorer påverkar informationsutbytet mellan OEM och kontraktstillverkare? Metod – En förstudie genomfördes för att formulera en problemformulering, vilket låg till grund för utformandet av studiens syfte samt frågeställningar. Fallstudien genomfördes parallellt med en kompletterande litteraturgenomgång för att skapa studiens teoretiska ramverk. Studiens syfte samt frågeställningar besvarades genom fallstudien och teorier. Slutsatser – Brister identifierades under studien gång och har en direkt påverkan på informationsutbytet mellan parterna. Det finns flera faktorer som kan påverka informationsutbytet, den främsta påverkande faktorn är kommunikationen inom företaget, vilket ligger till grund för ett väl fungerande informationsflöde. Ett tillverkande företag bör finna en balans mellan tillgång och användning av nödvändiga resurser för att integrera informationsflödet mellan parter och minska möjliga informationsgap. Det existerar svårigheter i att koordinera ett informationsflöde på bästa sätt vid användning av multipla tillverkningskanaler. Genom att identifiera slöseri i företagets administrativa processer kan de elimineras för att minska onödigt höga kostnader för företaget. Implikationer – Studien kan fungera som en vägledning hur företag ska hantera sitt informationsflöde vid användning av multipla tillverkningskanaler. Organisationer inom tillverkningsbranschen kan med fördel ta del av studien för erhållande av förståelse beträffande kommunikation, informationsutbyte, partnerskap samt framgångsfaktorer vid användning av lean i det administrativa flödet. Begränsningar – Då två enheter studerades, kan en relativt hög reliabilitet antas. Dock hade det varit fördelaktigt att studera fler företag med liknande tillverkningsprocess för att stärka studiens reliabilitet ytterligare. Purpose – The purpose of the thesis is to map the handling of information between original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and contract manufacturers. The purpose has been broken down into three research questions: What information is sent between OEM and contract manufacturers? How is information sent between OEM and contract manufacturers? What factors affect the exchange of information between OEM and contract manufacturers? Method – A case study was conducted to formulate a problem formulation, which formed the basis for the design of the study's purpose and issues. The case study was conducted in parallel with a supplementary literature review to create the theoretical framework of the study. Findings – The study identified several deficiencies that have a direct impact on the exchange of information between parties. By identifying waste in the company's administrative processes, they can be eliminated to reduce ultimately unnecessarily high costs for the company. Implications – The study can serve as a guide for companies to manage their information flow when using multiple manufacturing channels. Manufacturing organizations can benefit from the study to gain an understanding of communication, information exchange, partnership and success factors when using lean in the administrative flow. Limitations – When two units were studied, a relatively high reliability can be assumed. Yet, it would have been advantageous to study more companies with similar manufacturing processes to further strengthen the study’s reliability.

It is the responsibility of the employer to keep all workers safe and to promote a healthy work environment. Though there still remain work safety concerns, the construction industry has made a lot of progress addressing these issues over the last few decades. Safety research has and will continue to be a crucial part of this improvement. The focus of this study is to chart the structure for on-site dispersal of safety information amongst construction workers. The aim is to identify the known factors affecting information flow that are present at the construction site. Using Safety Climate theory as a framework enables the combining of Interorganizational Relations theory and Network theory, creating a tool for data analysis. Chosen method for data collection is semi-structured interviews followed by a study of the digital platforms mentioned by the respondents. The stock take of the information structure shows that the supervisor, and to a lesser degree the site manager, enables the information flow between actors within the construction site. The Safety Climate theory suggests that frequent communication between participants across all levels of the organization tend to facilitate ongoing discussions regarding safety. The results of the study confirm this conclusion. These discussions can, according to Safety Climate theory, lead to fewer accidents. The data indicate that well communicated safety information structure regarding both content and proceedings resulted in transparent information exchange. Language is a factor connected to difficulties with information exchange. Translations were found to be performed satisfactory, although the responsibility to perform said translations was not as well communicated. Overall the safety climate was regarded as satisfactory by the respondents at the construction site. The findings of this study have practical implications for construction safety efforts, due to the identified factors which can improve safety communication. Byggarbetsbranschen, med sin diversitet gällande såväl arbetsuppgifter, arbetsgivare och nationaliteter, har trots bestående problem kommit långt i säkerhetsarbetet de senaste decennierna. Forskning gällande säkerhet har varit, och kommer att fortsätta vara, en viktig hörnsten gällande detta förbättringsarbete. Förevarande studie fokuserar på kartläggning av säkerhetsinformationens struktur vid en byggarbetsplats. Syftet är, utöver kartläggningen, att identifiera kända faktorer med påverkan på informationsflödet. Med säkerhetsklimatteorin som grund kombineras interorganisationell relationsteori med nätverksteori. Resultatet analyseras enligt den sammantagna förklaringsmodellen. Datainsamling genomförs i första hand genom semistrukturerade intervjuer. Därefter utförs undersökning av digitala dem plattformar som respondenterna nämner. Kartläggningen visar att arbetsledaren, och i viss mån platschefen, fungerar som möjliggörare för kommunikation mellan olika aktörer. En faktor som påvisats i säkerhetsklimatteorin är att frekvent kommunikation mellan personer på olika befattningsnivåer i organisationen kan leda till diskussioner gällande säkerhet, detta samband påvisas även i resultatet. Dessa diskussioner kan enligt säkerhetsklimatteorin leda till minskat antal olyckor. När strukturen för säkerhetsinformation var väl kommunicerad gällande såväl informationsväg som innehåll visade resultatet att informationsutbytet fungerade bäst. En potentiell problemfaktor är språket. Analysen visar att översättningar fungerade väl, men ansvarsfördelningen för översättningarna var mindre tydlig. Respondenterna lyfter överlag säkerhetsarbetet och informationsdelningen som välfungerande. Studien har praktisk nytta då påverkansfaktorer identifierats vilket möjliggör systematiskt förbättringsarbete med säkerhetskommunikation.

Syfte: Eftersom byggbranschen är en av de mest olycks- och dödsfallsdrabbade branscher finns det anledningar att tro att det någonstans i arbetsmiljöarbetet brister. Inom arbetsmiljö och säkerhet sker en ständig utveckling vilket påverkar hur viktigt det är med en bra kommunikation från arbetsledaren till yrkesarbetaren. Målet med studien var att identifiera kommunikationsbrister mellan arbetsledare och yrkesarbetare som kunde skapa tillfälle för olyckor och tillbud. Syftet med att göra den här undersökningen var att utveckla ett eget förbättringsförslag och implementera det i praktiken och utvärdera hur detta mottogs. Metod: Studien utfördes som en aktionsforskning där brister i dagens informationsflöde identifierades för att sedan implementera en lämplig handling för att åtgärda problemet. Efter detta utvärderades den nya handlingen. För att utföra denna undersökning och besvara frågeställningarna har flera undersökningsmetoder för datainsamlingens använts: semistrukturerade intervjuer, litteraturstudier, dokumentanalys och deltagande observationer vilka har analyserats genom en triangulering för ett trovärdigt resultat. Resultat: Informationen om de risker som identifierades i ett arbetsmoment kommunicerades genom arbetsberedningar, vilka skulle ske genom ett överlämnings möte tillsammans med yrkesarbetarna. Dagens arbetsberedningsmall upplevdes som bristfällig samt med stort rum för utveckling. I identifieringen av bristerna i dagens informationsflöde var det informationen gällande kringliggande arbeten som var mest återkommande. Detta resulterade i att förbättringsförslaget begränsades till den frågan. En ny arbetsberedning togs fram med frågeställningar berörande arbetsmoment som sker i närheten och vilka risker samt riskreducerande åtgärder som skall vidtas. Konsekvenser: Det upplevdes förekomma ett samband mellan bristande kommunikation och tillbud samt olyckor. Individers personliga inställning till arbetsmiljöfrågor ansågs vara en faktor till att det sker olyckor. Detta kunde vara en faktor till att arbetsmiljön inte prioriterades mer under arbetsberedningar och påverkade i sin tur både överlämningen samt mängden information som återkopplas till arbetsledarna. För att minska tillbud och olyckor borde yrkesarbetarna informerats om kringliggande arbeten och de risker som tillkommer. Detta bidrog även till att yrkesarbetarna kände sig mer delaktiga och involverade i frågor som berörde deras arbetsmiljö. Begränsningar: Den här studien undersökte endast kommunikationsbrister mellan arbetsledare och yrkesarbetare som påverkade arbetsmiljöns efterlevnad. Resultatet ansågs vara generaliserbart i byggbranschen. Förbättringsarbetet syftade till att förbättra redan befintliga dokument och eftersom arbetsberedningar är företagsspecifikt blir även funna brister i arbetsberedningarna det. Purpose: Since the construction industry is one of the most harmful and lethal industries there is reason to believe that there is something wrong with the work environment planning. There is constant ongoing progress within the area of safety issues and work environment which affects how important good communication is from the supervisor to the carpenter. The objective of this study is to identify communication deficiencies between the supervisor and carpenter, which in turn raises the probability for accidents and incidents to occur. The purpose of this study is to develop an improvement proposal to implement and evaluate how it is received. Method: The study is conducted as an action research study where deficiencies are identified in today’s information channels. Furthermore, an appropriate action is proposed to address the problem, followed by an evaluation of the new action. When conducting this research, and when answering the research questions, several methods been utilized, such as: structural interviews, literature studies, document analysis, and participant observations which have been analyzed through triangulation for a credible result. Findings: The information about the risks identified in a work activity was communicated through a work sets, which was be done through a meeting with the construction workers. Today’s work set template was perceived as inadequate, with a lot of room for development. When identifying the deficiencies in today’s information flow, the information regarding surrounding work was identified as the most recurring. This resulted in the improvement proposal being limited to that issue. A new work set was made with questions regarding work activities that are taking place nearby and what risks and risk mitigation measures are to be taken. Implications: The connection between lack of communication and incidents as well as accidents was identified. An individual's attitude toward work environment issues are a factor in the occurrence of accidents. This is a factor when it comes to the work environment as it is not prioritized higher when planning work sets which affects both the handover and the amount of information that is given back to the supervisors. To reduce incidents and accidents, construction workers need to be informed about the surrounding work and the risks involved, this also makes the construction workers feel more involved in issues that affect their daily work environment. Limitations: This study only examines communication deficiencies between supervisors and construction workers regarding the work environment. The result is regarded as general to the construction industry. The improvement work is limited to improving existing documents. Furthermore, work sets are company-specific, shown deficiencies are as well.

The construction industry is considered an industry where manual handling is preferable to digital tools. A construction project includes many different actors who perform different services for the client. The information associated with a specific product group is massive, information is often lost, misinterpreted, or forgotten. This in turn leads to the studied company losing money, time, and efficiency. In today's construction industry, there are a variety of digital tools that companies use.The aim of the study is to study the challenges of digitizing the supply chain to a construction site and how these challenges can be addressed. The study was based on a combination of the theory applied with an abductive approach. This is followed by a qualitative research method to gain a broader and more detailed view of the selected subject. The theory is based on primary and secondary data in the form of three interviews conducted at the studied company linked to the study's two issues. Secondary data has been used when the theory is taken from scientific articles, course literatures and the case company intranet. With the help of the respondents' experiences, a result has been produced.For example, change means that an organization corrects existing ways of working. To achieve this, it is necessary to analyse the current situation to identify deficiencies, deviations, and present opportunities for improvement. An organization can adjust its way of working and be ready for change without creating major difficulties and complications. The Internet of Things and the digital tools have made working methods more efficient. This has made it possible to develop difficulties and deviations much more easily, which means that companies can act in real time to remove their difficulties. A system like ERP enables organizations to further develop their digitization into more specific business systems that cover and manage the flow of information effectively.The conclusion is that it requires knowledge and a conscious selection of digital systems for it to work well. This reduces the risk of different types of waste. The limitations of the work are that only three interviews have been conducted, which limits the strength of the results.

Syfte – Syftet med studien är att undersöka förbättringsmöjligheter i materialflödet mellan godsmottagning och montering. Syftet har brutits ner i tre frågeställningar: Vilka aktiviteter påverkar materialflödet mellan godsmottagning och montering? Hur påverkar aktiviteterna materialflödet mellan godsmottagning och montering? Hur kan materialflödet mellan godsmottagning och montering effektiviseras? Metod – En förstudie genomfördes för att definiera en problemformulering, vilket låg till grund för utformandet av studiens syfte och frågeställningar. En litteraturgenomgång och fallstudie har utförts parallellt med varandra. Datainsamlingen gjordes genom metoderna observation, dokumentstudie och intervjuer. Litteraturgenomgången genomfördes för att skapa det teoretiska ramverket. Syftet och frågeställningarna besvarades genom empirisk data och teorier. Resultat – Flera problem identifierades under studien som direkt påverkar materialflödet. I Icke värdeskapande aktiviteter, exempelvis hanterings- och lagerpunkter, påverkar ett materialflöde då det binds kapital och kräver resurser. En korrekt informationsdelning och ett nära samarbete mellan avdelningar anses vara en viktig faktor för materialflödets effektivitet. Genom att använda line back-principen kan aktiviteter som inte skapar värde för materialflödet förflytttas uppströms i försörjningskedjan för att möjliggöra en implementation av just in sequence. Implikationer – Då det redan existerar mycket teori inom problemområdet har ingen ny forskning etablerats. Däremot har studien belyst en ny synvinkel inom redan befintlig teori, där förhållandet mellan just in sequence och line back-principen belysts. Studien kan även användas som ett diskussionsunderlag för att kartlägga och effektivisera verksamheters materialflöde mellan godsmottagning och montering. Begränsningar – Studiens generaliserbarhet kan ifrågasättas då den endast involverar ett fallföretag. Då fallföretagets materialflöde ständigt är i rörelse försvårades datainsamlingen. Detta kan ha påverkat studiens resultat. Purpose – The purpose of the thesis is to explore potential enhancements for the material flow between the goods receiving and the assembly line. The purpose has been broken down to three research questions: What activities affect the material flow between the goods receiving and the assembly line? How does the activities affect the material flow between the goods receiving and the assembly line? How can the material flow between the goods receiving and the assembly line be more efficient? Method – A pilot study was conducted to define a problem, which the purpose and research questions of the thesis was based on. A review of literature was carried out alongside a case study. Observations, document studies and interviews were the methods of choosing for the collection of data. To establish the theoretical framework a literature review was carried out. A comparison between the findings of the case study and theoretical framework answered the study’s research questions. Findings – The study identified several problems with an immediate impact on the material flow. Non-value adding operations such as material handling and stock locations ties capital and requires resources. To correctly share information and to have a close cooperation between departments is considered as an important factor for the material flow’s efficiency. By using line back principle non-value adding operations can be pushed upstream in the supply chain to enable an implementation of just in sequence. Implications – The studied area consists of already existing theories therefor no additional research has been contributed. However, a new aspect of already existing theory has enlightened the relationship between just in sequence and line back principle. Organizations can use the case study as a basis of discussion for a mapping and improvements of the material flow between the goods receiving and the assembly lines. Limitations – The thesis ability to generalize can be questioned since it consists of only one case company. The material flow was constantly in motion which complicated the collection of data. Therefor the findings of the study can be affected by this.

Den generella arbetsinsatsen på organisationen kan ses som effektivt för den enskilda medarbetaren. Informationen och rutinerna standardiseras inte inom alla distrikt i postkontoret. Vissa rutiner utförs inte som förväntat och skapar komplikationer för andra kollegor att göra en effektiv insats inom samma distrikt, det vill säga avdelning. Organisationen har ett internt begrepp med namnet hasare vilket innebär att anställda med denna position måste arbeta i flera distrikt istället för ett enda. Eftersom organisationernas informationsflöde är kritiskt och också påverkar standardiseringen negativt, skapar det svårigheter för hasare att arbeta effektivt. Syftet med rapporten är att definiera de grundläggande orsakerna till problemet och även de lösningar som är baserade på medarbetares önskemål. Utifrån intervjuer och observation visar det sig att problemet påverkar standardiseringen av arbetet och i förlängningen även motivationen negativt för de anställda. Lösningen är en implementering av informationsmappar med relevant information till varje distrikt och även en implementering av ett teamsystem för att säkerställa att alla dokument i mappen uppdateras. Implementeringen bygger på Lean Management och offensiv kvalitetsutveckling (TQM), med målet att bygga upp en organisation på långsiktiga grunder och en delaktighet i organisationens aktiviteter. Metoden som har använts utgår från att studenten, tillsammans med organisationens medarbetare, ska generera släktskapsdiagram innehållande problemorsaker och träddiagram innehållande lösningar till problemen. Lösningsförslagen ställs därefter emot problemorsakerna för att analysera effektiviteten i lösningsförslagen. Slutsaterna är att organisationen har kvalitetsbrister i det interna informationsflödet och behöver upprätta enkel, standardiserad och lättillgänglig dokumentation som även samlas på en definierad plats. Organisationen behöver även gå igenom och uppdatera den dokumenterade informationen. Imagine yourself working in a workplace that have a lack of documented information. Information is usually communicated through daily information meetings, as some employees can not attend on these meetings. The employees that can not attend need to do their duty during the meetings. The information is also not documented and the outcome is that some employees miss out on information and work as what is effective for themself. The overall work effort of the organization can be seen as effective for the individual employee and less effective for the whole organisation. The information and routines are not standardized within every divisions of the post office. Some routines are not performed as expected and make it harder for other colleagues to make an effective effort at the same division. The organisation have an internal concept called ”hasare” which means that employees with this position need to work in several divisions instead of one single. Because the organizations information flow is critical and also affects standardization negatively, it creates difficulties for "hasare" to work efficiently. The purpose of this paper is to define the root causes to the problem and also the solutions based of the employees visions. Based on interviews and observation, it appears that the problem has a negative effect on the standardization of the work and the motivation for employees. The solution is an implementation of folders with information to every division and also an implementation of a team system to ensure that all documents in the folder are updated. The implementation is based on Lean management and Total Quality Management, aiming to build an organization on long-term basis and participation in the organization's activities. Based on the method, the student, together with the organization's employees, will generate interrelationship diagraphs containing problem issues and tree diagrams containing solutions to the problems. To analyze the effectiveness of the solution proposals, they are placed against the problems. The conclusion is that the organization has quality deficiencies in the internal information flow and needs to establish simple, standardized and easily accessible documentation that is also placed in a defined location. The organization also needs to review and update the documented information.

Stora Enso is today one of the four largest companies in the swedish forest industry. The company's business is spread all over the world, but it’s headquarters are located in Sweden and Finland. Stora Enso Skog is part of the company's global organization for wood supply to Swedish sawmills, paper mills and pulp mills. As all companies, regardless of industry, are part of a supply chain, an impact on and by other performers in the chain occurs. It is this influence that determines the prerequisites and starting points for effective processes and flows. The supply chain between forests and industry, on the other hand, is complex as tree as a raw material source are generally difficult to specify. The purpose of this case study is, therefore, to map the supply chain of the pinetree-timber at the “Dalälven” area from forest harvesting to measurement and sorted stock at the sawmill. Based on this objective, a delimitation has been made in such a way that the case study is performed only after pinetree-timber as a product. By dividing this pinetree-timber process into three parts; the harvesting process, the transport process and the measurement process an observation and semi-structured interviews was made with closely related staff as well as the transport partner Westan Logistik. The answers from interviews constituted an empirical comparison that was then compared to reviewed secondary data in the form of different literary theories. The results are visualized through a process flowchart, a information flowchart, a value-flow analysis, and a leadtime analysis, which have shown, among other things, that the value-creating activities (V) are less compared to non-value-creating activities (I) and the necessary non-value creation activities (N) in the pine-tree timber process. Even the leadtime proportion is greatest in the non-value-creating activities. The results provided the basis for an analysis and, last but not least, conclusions could be drawn. Because the raw material is complex, and the pinetree-timber process contains many performers, it can be a challenge to get a smooth and efficient flow through the supply chain. Interviews and theories have shown that the physical as well as the informative flow has difficulties which, for instance, slow down the process more than necessary. It is therefore interesting to see through a mapping how these can be improved and have a higher level of efficiency.

Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur informationsflödet på en prefabriceringsfabrik fungerar, från konstruktion till produktion. Mer konkret inriktar den sig till att identifiera effektiva och ineffektiva steg i flödet samt förbättringsmöjligheter för att kunna optimera personalens dagliga arbete. Eftersom ingen tidigare kunskap kring var problemen inom informationsflödet på fallföretaget fanns, kunde inte någon teoretiskt koppling formuleras innan fallstudien var genomförd. Fallstudien utgjordes av metoderna observation och intervju där kvalitativ data insamlades. Observationen genomfördes för att kartlägga processen av informationsflödet på fallföretaget. Intervjuerna genomfördes för att få de anställdas åsikter och hitta vart problemen låg. Efter fallstudien kunde teoriområdena klargöras och en litteraturstudie utfördes. De problemområden som framgick utifrån undersökningen grundar sig främst i tidsbrist. Detta bland annat på grund av tidskrävande aktiviteter som manuell hantering vid uppförandet av tillverkningsritningar och revideringar i fallföretagets planeringar. Förbättringsförslaget författarna presenterar är därmed en uppgradering av ritprogram samt implementering av ett planeringssystem. Tidsbristen ansågs även leda till brister inom kommunikationen. Författarna anser att det, av olika skäl, är viktigt att behålla den personliga kontakten och komplettera denna med system. Studien ämnar sig till att bidra med kunskap kring hur ett informationsflöde på en prefabriceringsfabrik kan vara utformat. Den stärker teorier kring varför det är viktigt att behålla den fysiska kommunikationen när uppdaterade system implementeras. Den har vidare bidragit med förslag kring vilka delar som kan effektiviseras inom ett informationsflöde där prefabelement tillverkas. Arbetet begränsades till att enbart genomföras på en prefabriceringsfabrik och kollar bara på flödet mellan konstruktion till produktion. Inga ekonomiska aspekter har beaktats och endast ett företag har deltagit i undersökningen. The study aimed to investigate how the information flow at an off-site fabrication is working, from design-stage to production. More specifically, it focus on identifying effective and ineffective parts in the information flow, along with improvement opportunities to optimize the personnel’s daily work. Since the authors had no knowledge about where the problems in the information flow at the company was, they were not able to create a theoretical framework before the case study was made. The case study involved observation and interviews. The observation was made to identify the process and information flow at the company. The interviews were made to get the knowledge about the personnel’s opinion and to locate where the problems in the information flow occurred. With the case study as a base the theoretical framework could be made with a literature study. The problem areas that emerged from the case study are all mainly based from the lack of time. This is partly due to the time-consuming activities such as manual handling in the making of production technical drawing and revision of planning documents. The improvement proposal the authors present is to upgrade the computer-aided design software and to implement a planning system. The authors also consider the lack of time as a reason for shortcomings in the communication. The improvement proposal the authors present for this is to keep the personal contact and to supplement it with a system. The study intends to contribute with knowledge about how an information flow at an off-site fabrication may look like. It reinforces theories about why it is important to keep the personal communication when a system upgrade are implemented. The study has also contributed in proposals in which parts of the information flow that have potential to become more effective at an off-site fabrication. The study was limited to an off-site fabrication and only the information flow between design-stage and production was included in the study. No economic aspects were considered and only one company has participated in the study.

Rapporten bygger på en fallstudie som gjorts på Yilport Gävle AB och dess försörjningskedja gällande sågat virke. Informationsdelning mellan aktörer i en försörjningskedja är en viktig del i den dagliga verksamheten. Bristande informationsdelning påverkar flera delar i försörjningskedjan som personalplanering och ledtider. Syftet med denna studie är att kartlägga informationsflödet inom en bulk-terminals försörjningskedja och dess tillhörande aktörer, samt att se över vilka möjligheter som skapas om informationsdelning förbättras mellan aktörer i försörjningskedjan. Teoriavsnittet är uppbyggt med sekundärdata som samlats in via litteraturstudier, och de ämnen som behandlas är logistik, försörjningskedja, information, informationsdelning och hållbarhet. Empirin i studien är insamlad via observationer och intervjuer med Yilport Gävle AB, sågverk, speditör och transportör, vilket alla är aktörer i den aktuella försörjningskedjan. Kartläggningen visar att aktörerna i dagsläget enbart delar information till de som står närmast i försörjningskedjan. Genom att använda sig av gemensamma mål och skapa delaktighet kan arbetet med utökad informationsdelning förbättras. Vilket i sin tur skapar möjligheter för kostnadsreducering, minskade ledtider, lägre lagernivåer och effektivare produktionsplanering. Studien lyfter fram hållbarhet som en möjlig förbättring när det kommer till informationsdelning mellan aktörer i en försörjningskedja. Forskning har tidigare inte lyft hållbarhet som ett möjligt förbättringsområde vid förbättrad informationsdelning. The report is based on a case study conducted at Yilport Gävle AB and its supply chain for saw timber. Information sharing between actors in a supply chain is an important part of the daily activities and if it lacks in any link it will influence, for instance, lead times and staff planning. The purpose of this study is to map the flow of information within a bulk-terminal supply chain and its associated actors, as well as to review what opportunities are created if information sharing is improved between actors in the supply chain. The theory section is structured with secondary data, collected through literature studies and the topics covered are logistics, supply chain, information, information sharing and sustainability. The empirical data in the study is collected through observations and interviews with Yilport Gävle AB, sawmill, freight forwarder and carrier, all of which are actors in the current supply chain. The mapping shows that actors currently share information only to those closest to them in the supply chain. By using common goals and creating participation, the work on expanded information sharing can be improved. This can create opportunities for cost reduction, reduced lead times, lower inventory levels and more efficient production planning. The study highlights sustainability as a possible improvement when it comes to information sharing between actors in a supply chain. Earlier research has not lifted sustainability as a possible improvement area when improving information sharing.

Till följd av att dagens samhälle blir allt mer präglad av den ständiga strömmen av information ställer det krav på byggentreprenören att börja ta kontroll över deras informationshantering. Utvecklingen av digitalisering har också bidragit till att synliggöra denna problematik. I dagsläget saknas det däremot hjälpmedel eller metoder för att kunna kartlägga eller mäta andelen slöseri i ett informationsflöde. Syftet med detta arbete är därmed att ta fram en metodik, för att kunna identifiera kritiskt slöseri samt rotorsaken till dess uppkomst för processen från avrop till materialleverans på husbyggnadsprojekt. Syftet är också att utreda hur implementering av digitala lösningar skulle kunna påverka informationsflödet eller bidra till att reducera slöseri. Inom ramen för detta arbete har tre stycken leverantörer till byggentreprenören Skanska Sverige studerats. Insamlingen av datamaterialet har utgått ifrån en metodik vilken är baserad på en kombination av en kvalitativ och en kvantitativ studie. Framtagna analysmodeller har sedan använts för att utreda andelen kritiskt slöseri i leverantörernas informationsflöde. Utifrån det insamlande datamaterialet kan det konstateras att kritiskt slöseri för processen från avrop till materielleverans uppkommer vid externa ändringar, att två personer producerar samma information, begränsningar i kommunikationssätt, att information saknas samt vid för mycket information. Rotorsakerna till nämnt kritiskt slöseri, vilka behöver åtgärdas för att förbättra informationsflödet, konstaterades vara manuell överföring av information samt konfiguration mellan olika system. Resultatet visar på att de två framtagna digitala lösningarna kan bidra till att reducera kritiskt slöseri i processen. Rekommendationen är därmed att det i ett första skede är mest relevant att åtgärda de slöseri vilka identifieras vara kritiska. Detta genom att börja ta kontroll över informationen genom förändrade arbetssätt och tydligare rutiner för kommunikation. The constant flow of information in today’s society, as well as the rapid evolving of digitalisation, has contributed to the requirement of continuous improvement in information management for contractors in the construction industry. However, in the current situation there are no tools or methods that enable mapping of waste in the information flow. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to develop a method for how to identify critical waste in the information flow, from call off to delivery of material at the construction site, and determine the root cause. Furthermore, the intention is also to investigate possibilities with implementation of digital solutions and discuss how it could affect information flow or contribute to reduction of waste. The scope of this study has included an investigation of three suppliers to the construction contractor Skanska. A combined qualitative and a quantitative study has been a basis for the gathering of information. The developed methods were then used to examine the existing waste in the supplier’s information flow. The obtained results clarify that waste in the information flow, from call off to delivery of material at the construction site, occur during external changes, when two individuals produce the same information, when there are constraints in communication channels, missing information or information overload. The identified root causes of these critical wastes were manual transitions of information as well as the configuration between different systems. Two developed digital solutions demonstrate the possibilities in reduction of critical waste in the process. Therefore, the final recommendation is to primarily start by reducing waste that is identified to be most critical in the information flow. To achieve this, a requirement is to take control over the information, by improved course of action and routines for communication.

Purpose: The study aimed to analyze and visualize the flow of information from the arrival of a complex customer order, until complete technical documentation is submitted to production. To answer the purpose, two questions were formulated. 1. How is order flow from order to production ensured in complex customizations? 2. How can the order flow be visualized to create a united picture in a manufacturing company? Method: To answer the two questions of the study, theory has been collected using literature studies. The theory gathered forms the basis of the study's analysis and has therefore focused on order flow, how these can be designed, how the order process goes on and can be managed, and how an order process can be visualized. Theory obtained in literature studies was summarized in a theoretical framework. The study's empirical data collection consisted of a case study focusing on the ordering process that included document studies, interviews and observation. The empirical data pattern was then compared to the theoretical framework. Based on the pattern comparison, question 1 could be answered and the basis for the visualization discussed in question 2. Findings: The outcome of the study's first question shows how order flow can be ensured from orders to production at manufacturing companies engaged in customized production. The order process and its flow of information can be effectively and safely summarized in nine steps, from the creation of standards to manufacturing production orders. Steps one to three are defined as the initial and most critical phase in which the customer is in focus. Steps four to six concern the internal communication between different departments to process and build a correct order. The final phase includes steps from seven to nine and describes the fulfillment of orders prior to production. The reason for visualizing and creating a united picture of the order flow according to question two is affected by the outcome of question one. The study shows that the order flow can be visualized by establishing a flowchart of the activities in the order flow. The design depends on its context and how the activities in the order process are implemented. Based on this, the principle of creating a visual image is general, but with details that are considered case-specific. Implications: The study contributes theoretically based on a general context about how analysis and visualization of information within the order flow can be handled. The report becomes a reference point for securing the order flow as it is based on previous research linked to the report's areas. The study provides practical support with a basis for ensuring and visualizing the order flow of manufacturing companies for customization. Limitations: The study is a one-case-design study in a specific context where general theory and case unique empirical data have been combined, which affects generalisability. This was compensated by the fact that the company in the study represents manufacturing companies of customized products. Context and order process design affect the visualization and limitations in predicting the outcome. Simplification to ensure order processing rather than solving specific problems in the flow has been of interest. Syfte: Studien syftade till att analysera och visualisera flödet av information från det att en komplex kundorder anländer, till dess att kompletta tekniska underlag överlämnas till produktion. För att besvara syftet formulerades två frågeställningar. 1. Hur säkerställs orderflödet från order till produktion vid komplexa kundanpassningar? 2. Hur kan orderflödet visualiseras för att skapa en gemensam bild i ett tillverkande företag? Metod: För att besvara studiens två frågeställningar har teori samlats in med hjälp av litteraturstudier. Den teori som samlats in ligger till grund för studiens analys och har därför varit inriktad på orderflöde, hur dessa kan utformas, hur orderprocessen går till och kan hanteras samt hur en orderprocess kan visualiseras. Teori som erhölls vid litteraturstudier sammanfattades i ett teoretiskt ramverk. Studiens empiriska datainsamling bestod av en fallstudie med fokus på orderprocessen som inkluderade dokumentstudier, intervjuer och observation. Den empiriska data mönsterjämfördes sedan mot det teoretiska ramverket. Utifrån mönsterjämförelsen kunde frågeställning 1 besvaras och ligga till grund för visualiseringen som behandlas i frågeställning 2. Resultat: Resultatet av studiens första frågeställning visar hur orderflödet kan säkerställas från order till produktion hos tillverkande företag som bedriver kundanpassad produktion. Orderprocessen och dess informationsflöde kan bedrivas på ett effektivt och säkert sätt sammanfattas i nio steg, från skapande av standarder till upprättande av tillverkningsorder. Steg ett till tre definieras som den inledande och mest kritiska fasen där kunden är i fokus. Steg fyra till sex berör den interna kommunikationen mellan olika avdelningar för att behandla och bygga en korrekt order. Sista fasen inkluderar steg sju till nio och beskriver uppfyllande av order inför produktion. Grunden för att visualisera och skapa en gemensam bild av orderflödet enligt frågeställning två påverkas av resultatet av frågeställning ett. Studien visar på att orderflödet kan visualiseras genom upprättande av ett flödesschema över aktiviteterna i orderflödet. Utformandet är beroende av sin kontext och hur aktiviteterna i orderprocessen genomförs. Utifrån detta är principen för upprättande av en visuell bild generell, men med detaljer som anses fallspecifika. Implikationer: Studien bidrar teoretiskt utifrån ett generellt sammanhang kring hur analys och visualisering av information inom orderflödet kan hanteras. Rapporten blir en referenspunkt för säkerställande av orderflödet då den bygger på tidigare forskning kopplat till rapportens områden. Studien bidrar praktiskt med ett underlag för att säkerställa och visualisera orderflödet hos tillverkande företag vid kundanpassning. Begränsningar: Studien är en enfallsstudie i specifik kontext där allmän teori och fallunik empiri har kombinerats vilket påverkar generaliserbarheten. Detta kompenseras med att företaget i studien representerar tillverkande företag av kundanpassade produkter. Kontext och orderprocessens utformning påverkar visualiseringen och begränsningar i att förutsäga resultatet finns. Förenkling till att säkerställa orderhanteringen snarare än att lösa specifika problem i flödet har varit av intresse.

Detta examensarbete har utförts på uppdrag av Kongsberg Power Products Systems AB. Företaget ligger i Ljungsarp, Sverige och tillverkar rattstänger till anläggningsfordon och jordbruksmaskiner. Till grund för rapporten ligger en kvalitativa forskning med genomförda intervjuer på fallföretaget och observationer. I rapporten hålls ett deduktivt angreppssätt för att komma med förslag på hur Kongsberg kan förbättra och effektivisera materialflödet.Marknaden har expanderat dramatiskt de senaste åren och nuförtiden gäller det att ständigt utvecklas och förbättras för att vara konkurrenskraftig. Då dagens kunder förväntar sig att få sina behov och önskemål uppfyllda så snabbt som möjligt.Syftet med studien är att få en fördjupad förståelse på hur materialflödet kan effektiviseras genom hela kedjan. Det innebär att analysera hur företagets materialflöde kan förbättras samt att identifiera slöserier för en mer effektiv materialhanteringsprocess. För att kunna bemöta studiens syfte genomfördes en litteraturstudie parallellt med en fallstudie ute på ett producerande företag. Studiens syfte uppnås genom att svara på följande frågeställning:Hur kan materialflödet effektiviserats från orderläggning till monteringen, för att skapa värde för kunden och företaget?Metoden som användes var genom en litteraturstudie ge en teoretisk bakgrund till produktionslayout, kundorderprocess, materialflöde, informationsflöde och lean-produktion. Därefter genomfördes en empirisk studie som är baserade på observationer och intervjuer för att få fram ett resultat av nuläget hos fallföretaget. Efter empirin studerades företagets materialhanteringsprocess genom att analysera materialflöden, från orderläggning till montering. Det granskades för att kunna hitta förbättringar och lösningar.Vid diskussionen så diskuterar forskarna problemen och relevanta lösningar till de angivna problemen. Slutligen presenteras praktiska och teoretiska rekommendationer utifrån diskussionen och det förväntade resultat på hur problemet kan åtgärdas på företaget som forskarna ansågs var värdefulla och användbara. Rekommendationerna fokuserar på att företaget skall vilja eftersträva att ständigt förbättra verksamheten och dess materialflöde.Att skapa rutiner, arbeta på ett standardiserat sätt samt att implementera ett modernare ERP-system är några av de viktigaste lösningar för att Kongsberg ska kunna effektivisera sitt materialflöde. Det är då icke-värdeskapande aktiviteter och slöserier kan identifieras och elimineras. Detta resulterar i ett effektivare materialflöde som leder till nöjdare kunder. This thesis is performed in association with Kongsberg Power Products Systems AB. Their factory is located in Ljungsarp, Sweden and manufacture steering columns for construction vehicles and agricultural machinery. The basis for the report is a qualitative research with conducted interviews and observations on the case company. The report takes a deductive approach to suggesting how Kongsberg can improve and streamline material flow.The market has branched out dramatically the last few years and nowadays it is about to constantly developing and improving to be competitive. Today's customers expect to get their needs and wishes in the best possible way.The purpose with this thesis work is to understand how it is possible to make a material flow more efficient through the entire chain. It means to analyze how the company’s material flow can be improved and identify where interferences were located in order to achieve a more effective manufacturing process.In order to meet the purpose of the study, a literature study was realized in parallel with a case study on the company. Work purpose is achieved by answering the following question:How can the material flow be streamlined from order placement to assembly to create value for both customer and company?The methodology for the thesis was as follows, first a theoretical background of product layout, order process, material flow, information flow and Lean production was conducted. Then followed an empirical study covered by study visits, observations and interviews. After the empirical study, the company's manufacturing process was studied, by mapping their internal material flows, from order placement to assembly of the product. That was reviewed to find improvements and solutions to the problem.At the discussion, the researchers discuss problems and relevant solutions to the identified problem. Finally, practical and theoretical recommendations and suggestions are presented to the company that we thought were useful as well as the expected result. The recommendations focus on how companies should strive to constantly improve operations and its material flow.iiiTo create routines, standardizing working methods and to implement a newer ERP-system are the some of the most important solutions for Kongsberg to be able to effectives its material flow. It is then non-value-creating activities and wastes can be determined and eliminated, resulting in a more efficient material flow and satisfied customers.

In this case study a partnership between a first-tier supplier and a focal company in a Supply Chain has been examined. The focal company has a function as a wholesaler in the mechanical industry. An issue with communication and obstructions in the information flow between the two partners had caused problems in the material flow, which encompasses late deliveries and problems with the distribution between both partners has been treated in this case. These observations have resulted in recommendations for how employees in the focal company can work proactively with these issues linked to the first-tier supplier. The suggestions include application of Vendor managed inventory VMI between the customer and supplier company, including introduction of Lean methods in the focal company's operational activities. This to implement standardized routines for cleaning with 5S and Kaizen, with the purpose to handle the problems with late deliveries and reduce the risks of intermediate storage outcome in the inventory. At last another proposal for supplementation of the supplier base is formed, regarding the specific product group of strategic items where an acquisition risk prevails. I denna fallstudie har ett partnerskapsförhållande mellan en primärleverantör och en fokalfirma – med funktion som grossist inom maskinindustrin utvärderats. Problematik med kommunikation och bristande informationsflöde som förorsakat ett bristande materialflöde i form av sena leveranser i distributionen mellan parterna har behandlats. Dessa observationer har i senare led resulterat i rekommendationer och tillvägagångssätt för hur ansvariga i fokalfirman kan arbeta proaktivt kring detta och återkoppla till primärleverantören. Därefter har en rad förslag till förbättringsåtgärder framställts.Förslagen innefattar införande av VMI-styrning mellan kund- och leverantörsföretaget för att åstadkomma en starkare integration i informationsflödet mellan parterna. Detta i kombination med införande av Lean metoder i fokalfirmans operativa aktiviteter på lagret, för att introducera standardiserade rutiner kring städning med 5S och Kaizen-moral. På så sätt ska sena inleveranser på lagret effektivare kunna behandlas och risken för uppkomst av mellanlager på verkstadsgolv reduceras. Slutligen har ett ytterligare förslag tagits fram som en alternativ lösning och det är att uttöka leverantörsbasen. Genom uttökningen underbyggs anskaffningsrisken gällande en specifik produktgrupp med strategiska artiklar ur företagets produktsortiment.

Byggbranschens största utmaning idag är strävan efter lägre kostnader, högre kapacitet, lägre slöserier och ökad effektivitet för att uppnå ett mer lönsamhet. För detta krävs det framförallt att slöseri och icke värdeskapande aktiviteter elimineras bort. Därmed är det viktigt att byggföretag börjar ta initiativ i att kartlägga det nuvarande informations- och materialflöden för att skapa sig en uppfattning om vilka möjligheter det finns för att hitta alternativa lösningar till effektivisering. Syftet med rapporten är att kartlägga informations-och materialflödet för att analysera och identifiera brister för att sedan effektivisera och minimera slöserierna som förekommer på byggarbetsplatsen. Utifrån kartläggning och analys skall resultatet av undersökningen vara till hjälp för att ta fram lämpliga förslag till framtida projekt. Vid början av examensarbetet gjordes en litteraturstudie av vetenskapliga rapporter, artiklar och facklitteratur för att kunna få en överblick och kunskap över ämnet. Resultatet av rapporten genomfördes av framförallt som mest fokus på fallstudier på byggarbetsplatsen, flertal besök på arbetsplatsen och strukturerade intervjuer. Datainsamlingen gjordes främst genom besök på byggarbetsplatsen för att kunna erhålla information genom observationer och intervjuerna som var till en stor hjälp. Författarna intervjuade projektchefen, arbetsledaren samt respondenter som arbetade kring projektet Hotell Victor. Dessutom gjordes fler intervjuer hos andra projekt och företag för att få förståelse över hur stort problem det är i allmänt egentligen. Ett flertal risker identifierades utifrån empirin, vilket lyfts upp och beskrivs likt troliga uppkomma risker, då det inte är sannolikt att dessa risker gäller inte enbart för AF Gruppen i Göteborg. ​ Resultatet från fallstudien tyder framförallt att kommunikationen mellan entreprenör och leverantör kräver en förbättring, det skulle bidra till kostnads- och tidsbesparingar. Aviseringen av material som anländer till byggarbetsplatsen är också ett problem , bristande avisering och kommunikation leder till att aktiviteter som omplanering, väntan och onödiga rörelser växer fram . The construction industry's biggest challenge today is the quest for lower costs, higher capacity, lower waste levels and increased efficiency. For this, it is primarily necessary to eliminate waste and non-value-creating activities. Thus, it is important that construction companies begin to take the initiative in mapping current information and material flows to get an idea of ​​the possibilities for finding alternative solutions for efficiency. The purpose of this thesis is to gain insight into what shortfalls as occurs in construction industry and to propose improvements. By analyzing the problems in the information and material flow that arises at the construction site with a focus on efficiency and minimizing waste. At the beginning of the thesis, a literature study of scientific reports, articles and fiction in order to have an overview and knowledge of the subject. Results of the report were carried out by mainly most focus on case studies on the construction site, numerous workplace visits and structured interviews. The data was collected mainly through visits to the construction site in order to obtain information through observations and interviews which were a great help. The interviews were conducted at the project manager and supervisor of the project, Hotell Victor. Furthermore more interviews took place with other projects and companies to get understanding how big a problem it is in general. Several risks were identified on the basis of empirical data, which is raised and described like probable risks occur, and then it is likely that these risks are not exclusive just for AF Gruppen in Gothenburg. The results from the case study indicate, above all that communication between the contractor and supplier could be improved, this would save construction companies time and money. Announcement of the material as arriving until the construction site are integrated for all good and require improvement. Reprogramming, wait and unnecessary movements are few activities that occur.

Syfte – Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka vilka problem den offentliga organisationen har vad gäller informationsflödet inom organisationen samt föreslå en lösning på detta. För att uppnå syftet kommer följande frågeställningar att besvaras: Vilka problem har en offentlig organisation med informationsflödet? Hur kan en kravspecifikation bidra till en effektivisering av informationsflödet inom en offentlig organisation? Metod – För att uppnå studiens syfte och besvara frågeställningarna har en kvalitativ studie utförts på en offentlig organisation. Först utförs semistrukturerade intervjuer, efter det har det teoretiska ramverket skapats ur litteraturstudier för att ge en kunskapsgrund inom området. Ur detta framkommer riktlinjer för skapandet av en kravspecifikation, som ligger till grund för ett mer effektivt informationsflöde inom en offentlig organisation. Den empiri som insamlats på beskrivet sätt har sedan analyserats och jämförts med den insamlade teorin. Detta för att jämföra verkliga det arbetslivet med teorin. Även litteraturstudier har genomförts eftersom det är viktigt att få en stabil bakgrund gällande metoder, teorier och verktyg. Med sin grund i kravspecifikationen skapandes ett lösningsförslag efter att ett val har gjort vilken typ av lösning som är lämplig för ändamålet. Detta gjordes i samrådande med den berörda organisationen. Kravspecifikationen har analyserats mot empirin och teorierna samt skett i samrådande med den berörda organisationen. En demonstration av den slutliga lösningen och uppföljningsintervju utfördes även för att få feedback lösningsförslaget effektiviserade den berörda organisationen informationsflöde. Resultat – Studiens resultat bygger på den insamlade empirin och den utförda litteraturstudien. Resultatet visar att utvecklandet av en artefakt i form riktlinjer för en kravspecifikation som ligger till grund för en vidareutveckling för att effektivisera informationsflödet, har resulterat i en förbättring av informationsflödet inom en offentlig organisation. Kraven som framkom genom semistrukturerade intervjuer har använts vid skapandet av kravspecifikationen. Implikationer – Ambitionen i denna studie är att skapa riktlinjer för en kravspecifikation som ligger till grund för en effektivisering av informationsflödet inom en offentlig organisation. Genom studiens resultat fås riktlinjer fram som borde användas av andra utvecklare eller studenter vid liknade projekt. Blomkvist och Hallin (2015) menar att vissa exjobb ger ett metodologiskt bidrag till forskningen detta genom att på ett nytt sätt lösa en organisations praktiska problem. Detta är denna studies kunskapsbidrag. Kunskapsbidraget vad det gäller forskningen inom ämnet informatik, bidrar den till en förbättring av förmedling av information. Detta genom att ta fram och använda riktlinjer för en kravspecifikation som ligger till grund detta. Begränsningar – En studie utfördes på en offentlig organisation och därför blir studien relevant för denna organisation samt för liknade organisationer. Studiens ämnesområden är av varierande djup, eftersom det inte tidsmässigt varit möjligt att gå lika djupt inom alla ämnen. Purpose – The purpose of this study is to investigate what kind of problems a public organization has with their information flow and suggest a solution to the identified problems.To achieve the purpose, will the report answer the following questions: What problems do a public organization have with the information flow? How can a specification contribute to efficiency the flow of information within a public organization? Method – In order to achieve the objectives of the study and answer the research questions, a qualitative study is conducted in a public organization. First, semi-structured interviews have been conducted, and then a literature search is performed to provide a knowledge base in this field. From this emerges a specification that forms the basis for a more efficient flow of information within a public organization. The empirical data, which is collected in the manner described, is then analysed and compared with the collected theory. This is to compare the real working life with the theory. Even literature studies have been carried out because it is important to have a stable background current methods, theories and tools. With its basis in the specification, the proposed solutions was developed after an election has made the kind of solution that is fit for purpose. This was done in consultation with the organization concerned. The requirement specification has been analysed by the empirical data and theories, and occurred in consulting with the organization concerned. A demonstration of the final solution and follow-up interviews were also conducted, to get feedback about the solution improvement of the information flow within the public organization. Findings – The study results are based on the collected empirical data and the conducted literature review. The result shows that development of an artefact in the form of guidelines for a set of requirements that form the basis, for further development solution improvement of the information flow has resulted in an improvement of the information flow within a public organization. The requirements that have been identified; with semi-structured interview have been used to create the specification demands. This is done to get a good result that solves the organizations requirements and needs, in terms of information flow in a public organization. Implications – Blomkvist and Hallin (2015) argues that some thesis provides a methodological contribution to research this, a new way to solve an organization's practical problems. This is this study knowledge contribution. Knowledge contribution in terms of research in informatics, it contributes to an improvement in the distribution of information. The study provides support by producing a guidance on a specification in the form of an artefact that is the basis for development. Further studies may be seen as desirable as this study has only focused on the organization and for research to be optimal and needs further studies in the field carried out. Syfte – Studiens syfte är att bidra till kunskap om hur SCOR-modellen kan användas för att identifiera och förbättra en kritisk process i ett orderflöde med avseende att höja pålitligheten i leveranser till kund. Utvärderingen resulterade i att inköpsprocessen identifierades som den kritiska processen då 55% av avvikelserna kopplade till pålitlighet i leverans till kund var relaterade till inköpsprocessen. De identifierade problemområdena i den kritiska processen var bristande kommunikation, variationer, bristande standarder, felaktig orderregistrering och externa avvikelser. SCOR-modellens praxis för inköpsprocessen kunde lösa bristande kommunikation, variationer, felaktig orderregistrering samt externa avvikelser. Bristande standarder löstes genom kompletterande teori och därmed kunde syftet uppfyllas.Implikationer – Denna studie har visat hur en kritisk process i ett orderflöde kan identifieras och förbättras med avseende på att höja pålitligheten i leveranser till kund. Purpose – The purpose of this thesis is to develop an understanding on how a crucial process can be identified and how to make it more efficient in order to increase delivery reliability to customer using the SCOR-model. To fulfil the purpose it has been broken down into three parts:Part 1: To map the current order flow with material flow and information flowPart 2: To evaluate the order flow using the SCOR-model and identify a crucial process in order to increase delivery reliability to customerPart 3: To analyze the crucial process using the SCOR-model and identify areas of improvement in order to increase delivery reliability to customerMethod – In order to meet the purpose of thesis, a case study has been conducted on Expedit AB. Literature studies were performed to create a theoretical framework. To gather empirical data, interviews, document studies and observations was conducted. To analyze the empirical findings pattern matching was used and also analyze tools such as flow mapping and cause-and-effect-diagram. The supply chain operations reference model calculations methods were used to make calculations.Findings – The first part of the purpose was accomplished through interviews, observations and was illustrated in a flow map. As a result of the evaluation of the order flow the purchasing process was identified as the crucial process. This conclusion was made since 55% of the deviations was related to the purchasing process. Five areas of improvement were identified within the crucial process was lack of communication, variations, lack of standards, incorrect order registration and external deviations. In order to handle problems related to lack of communication, variations, incorrect order registration and external deviations the SCOR-models purchasing practices were used. In order to handle problems related to lack of standards additional theories where used and by doing so the purpose could be fulfilled.Implications – This study has shown how a crucial process in an order flow can be identified and how to make it more efficient in order to increase delivery reliability to customer. The study has contributed to strengthening existing theories.Limitations – This case study only consist one case instead of several which would have increased the generalizability of the study. A majority of the conducted interviews are mostly based on supplementaries, this lower the reliability of the study since these questions are based on the respondents answers.

Industries consists of processes where hundreds of products are produced every day. This means that small flaws within the flow of the information or process can show up relatively fast. This creates an interesting question: how different forms of information flaws can affect processes. A few previous studies have been conducted regarding this area. This purpose of this study is to research the different forms of information flaws that can affect a flow of information between two processes. An information and process map has been created through a case study at Kubal. The researched process has been the flow of material between two processes. The conclusions of this research has been that the information flow between processes has to be tied together in every area, so that every relevant process owner is aware of the whole process. Failure to do so implies that the flow of information works sub-optimally. Another important point is to be consistent with what system is being used; lack of certain functions within a system generates additional systems that acts as complements to the main system, which implies that another problem arises within the flow of information Industrier består av processer där hundratals produkter produceras per dag. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur olika former av informationsbrister kan påverka ett informationsflöde mellan två processer. En informations- och processkartläggning har skett genom en fallstudie på Kubal. Den undersökta processen har varit det materialflödet mellan två processer. De slutsatser som tagits fram är att informationsflödet inom processer måste knytas på en generell nivå, så att alla relevanta delprocessägare är med inom flödet. Misslyckandet av att motverka detta leder till att informationsflödet agerar suboptimalt. En annan viktig punkt är att vara konsistent med de system som används; funktionsbrister inom dessa system leder till att ytterligare system genereras för att agera som komplement, vilket implicerar ytterligare problem inom informationsflödet.

The purpose of this study is to gain understanding of how the communicative ability affects creativity in an organization. Qualitive research with semi-structured questions with a purpose of collecting material from four respondents. Research Question -How do large organizations work with the communicative ability? -How should organizations work with the communicative ability to increase the creativity among their employees? This study deals with an attempt to apply Lean theories on information processing. Lean is amanagement concept that was developed in the United States in the 60's and 70's. Its popularity hascome and gone in waves, but today is a widespread standard in the automotive and engineeringindustries. The cornerstones of Lean philosophy are to manage resources efficiently by eliminatingwaste and processes that do not add value to the customer. Applying Lean theories on informationmanagement is a relatively new concept and in the current situation there are not any widely acceptedand recognized tools and methods.The study was made at SJ's service depot in Hagalund, Stockholm and focuses on work processes ofthe vehicle management in the service depot. The goal of the study was to analyze and evaluate thedepot vehicle management processes and develop concrete proposals for improvements and test themin the daily operation. In this study the focus has been around vehicle management work processes andthe work is distinct from the system used in the daily work.Through observations and interviews alongside literature studies a picture of the current situation wascreated. Based on the theoretical framework developed, the current situation was analyzed bycomparison with the theoretical framework. The study has consistently been exploratory as somebackground information about the area and its problems were lacking. The analysis was performed byapplying theory and methods on empirical data on which this analysis compiled an image of problemsin the organization.From the analysis, a second analysis of a selected problem was made. A principle of informationmanagement were developed and then tested. Based on the test and the results of the analysisconclusions were drawn about how Lean can be applied to information management and how thiscould be applied in reality. Within the services sector third-party logistics companies play an increasingly central role when it comes to the goods that are being transported. These companies are presented with continuous challenges to ensure that goods are loaded on trucks efficiently and delivered on time, at the right place and in the right condition. The present case study was conducted in collaboration with Schenker AB and Schenker Åkeri in Jönköping, to help these two company branches serving under the same major corporation to solve a common problem they both encounter, namely the fact that it regularly occurs handling abnormalities in the terminal process that affects overall quality for customers. The study aims to find out how the daily quality control concerning the handling of goods in the terminal process can be improved hopefully resulting in a higher quality in cargo shipments. The aim of the study was approached by trying to answer the following two questions: What are the causes of management deviations in the terminal process and how can these be grouped into different classes? How can quality control be changed to prevent these handling deviations? The approach has consisted of a parallel collection of data and theory in order to continuously relate data and theory to find a coherent context for the problems that these branches are facing. Primary data has been obtained through observations and interviews from both branches. Secondary data was collected through a survey conducted by Schenker Åkeri regarding information flow in the present situation and the desired position of drivers. The results of the inquiry have shown that most of the deviations in the terminal process occur when the operator performs a task incorrectly, also known as handling errors. Furthermore, the study has shown that the information given regarding certain operations has been inadequate and not sufficiently clear, thus this has shown to be one of the reasons that handling errors occur. As a result, the framework for all proposed meetings was prepared with guidelines regarding what the meeting should include for the respective departments, as well as important advice to remember while performing a lean meeting. To correct and avoid handling errors that occur on an operational level, it is recommended the information architecture be improved. Thus, this was elaborated in the form of regular meetings based on the Lean philosophy between labor management level and operational level. Deviations are prevented also by a standardized approach, and visualized and distinct markup for what may be placed at any location. A significant aspect of a company is to create commitment and motivation of all employees at all levels. Collaboration between the two company branches is important when working in close proximity, meaning that the actions of one branch of the company will affect the others, and vice verse. Handling product returns has become a critical activity for organizations as the volume of gods flowing back through the supply chain rapidly increases. Few research studies have published specific empirical data concerning the reverse logistics practices of companies. Information technology and information support has long been recognized as a competitive weapon – capable of enhancing company performance and achieving efficient reverse logistics. Reverse logistics is very unlike the forward, as it is more reactive and also has less visibility. Unlike forward logistics, incoming products from reverse logistics are not tracked broadly because of the lack of information systems resources necessary.The investigated apparel company in this study is operating on the global market and expands their sales twenty per cent each year, resulting in increased pressure in the return flow. To meet this future demands, the return process has to be more efficient and not so time consuming. This study emerged from a case study made at the return department of this apparel company based on a research question. An improvement area was discovered through interviews, internal documents and observations. This area was investigated in existing theories through books and scientific research papers. From the theories and the case study, a hypothesis was created in order to be tested. To strengthen the hypothesis, an experiment was developed and performed at selected retailers and at the apparel company.Research Question Where in the product return process can improvements be made in order to make the information flow more efficient between retailers and an apparel company?HypothesisBy creating a web-based return form, the information flow between retailers and an apparel company will be more efficient, resulting in a more effective and structured product return process.Through the experiment, various factors that strengthen the hypothesis were discovered. For instance, the information flow becomes more effective when retailers have clear guidelines how to send back products and when inserting the information into the computer system before returning. As the apparel company knows what is coming back, the disposition of returned products can be predetermined which will speed up the return process. Shared and available information across various parties facilitate the daily work with better communication. Furthermore, activities that are existing today within the return process can be eliminated which result in more effective product return process. Denna studie behandlar implementering av lean på en informationsprocess för fel- och avvikelserapportering i produktutvecklingen hos Saab AB, under affärsområdet Security and Defence Solutions (SDS) och sektionen Command & Control Systems (C2S). Målet med studien är att genom kartläggning av informationsflödet analysera hur leanfilosofi och leanmetoder kan implementeras för att utvärdera och förbättra informationsprocesser samt vilket problematik som finns förknippat med detta och kan avhjälpas av detta. Studiens mål är även att analysera hur mätetal kan användas för att mäta effektivitet och att se vilka potentiella risker som finns förknippat med detta samt så är målet att analysera hur ett företags organisationskultur påverkar flödet i informationsprocessen samt en implementering av lean. Uppgiften löstes genom att skapa en gedigen kunskap inom området genom teoretiska källor och simultant så utfördes en omfattande fallstudie med 21 kvalitativa intervjuer som huvudsaklig bas där flera perspektiv framkom som bidrog till en övergripande kartläggning över informationsflödet. Det empiriska materialet analyserades gentemot det teoretiska ramverket, där Likers 14 identifierade principer för implementering fungerat som utgångspunkt, vilket ledde fram till att ett flertal slutsatser kunde dras. Slutsatserna sammanfattas och illustreras i en figur som påvisar den generella problematik som behöver begrundas vid ett införande liknande det analyserade. I figuren belyser vi slutsatsen att företagskulturen genomsyrar varje steg av implementeringen av lean och att det första steget måste vara att se till så att kulturen är mottaglig för implementeringen och den förändring det innebär. Detta illustreras genom en organisationskulturgrund som stödjer hela den fortsatta implementeringen. I figuren belyses sedan problematikerna: stress och tidsbrist, informell felrapportering, IT-problematik, mätetal – visualisering samt bristfällig kommunikation. Slutsatsen som dras är att dessa problematiker, samt förändringsovilja inom företagskulturen, måste begrundas vid ett införande av lean och som också kan avhjälpas vid en implementering. This study deals with lean implementation on an information process for the error and deviation handling in the product development at Saab AB, the business area Security and Defence Solutions (SDS) and the section Command & Control Systems (C2S). The purpose of this study is to analyze how the lean philosophy and lean methods can be implemented to evaluate and improve information processes. The purpose is also to identify the problems that are associated with this and can be helped by this. The aim of the study is also to investigate how metrics can be used to measure effectiveness and to identify the potential risks that are associated with this and finally the aim is to analyze how a company's organizational culture affects the flow of an information process and an implementation of lean. The task was solved by first creating a solid knowledge in the field through theoretical sources, and an extensive case study of 21 qualitative interviews was conducted. Several perspectives emerged that contributed to an extensive mapping over the information flow. The empirical data were analyzed against the theoretical framework, where Liker´s 14 identified principles for implementation served as a starting point, which led to several conclusions. The conclusions are summarized and illustrated in a figure that shows the general problems that need to be looked in to when implementing lean on a similar process to that in the case study. The figure illustrates our conclusion that the corporate culture affects every step of the implementation of lean and that the first step must be to ensure that culture is receptive to the implementation and the change it implies. In the figure we illustrate this with an organizational culture that supports the entire basis of the implementation. The figure highlights the problems identified through the empirics and the analysis: stress and time constraints, informal bug tracking, IT issues, metrics - visualization and poor communication. The conclusion that is drawn is that these problematic, and the reluctance to change in corporate culture, needs to be considered when implementing lean and also that these problematic can be remedied with and implementation.

DeLaval distribuerar fullständiga mjölkningssystem vilka säljs på drygt 100 olika marknader över hela världen. Det finns alltid en strävan efter att leverera beställningar till kund i tid. Direktören för Inköp och Logistik Asien på DeLaval i Shanghai har uttryckt ett behov av att undersöka hur informationen bör anpassas så att ett stöd för supply chain uppstår med syftet att förbättra tiden för leverans till kund. Detta resulterade i en utredning att kartlägga behoven i informationsflödet och vilka system som behöver stöd för att möjliggöra leverans i tid till kund. Det finns ett mått vilket kallas on time in full (OTIF) som används av DeLaval för att mäta leveransprecision för slutkund. Detta var grunden för att följande frågeställning kunde formulerades: Hur kan informationsflödet inom supply chain anpassas för att förbättra OTIF? För att kunna svara på denna fråga kom författarna fram till att en fallstudie var den mest lämpade metoden att gå tillväga. Både primär och sekundär data samlades in. De primära data kom främst från intervjuer, men även från seminarier och evenemang. De sekundära data bestod av interna dokument, akademiska artiklar, böcker och andra former av information som uppkommit i andra sammanhang. Analysen belyser viktiga aspekter i informationsflödet. Till exempel: befintliga problem i de system som används för att hantera information och ritningar, svagheter i det interna samarbetet och kommunikationen, vikten av internt och externt informationsutbyte. Konkreta förslag på hur belysta aspekter ovan kan lösas är till exempel att börja tillämpa RFID. En supply chain är, likt bilden på framsidan av denna uppsats, en icke linjär process. The Director of Purchasing and Logistics Asia at DeLaval in Shanghai has expressed a need to investigate how to adjust the information support for supply chain in order to improve the time for delivery to the customer. This resulted in a commission to clarify the needs regarding the information flow and to identify what system support is needed to enable delivery on time in full to the end‐ customer. There is a measurement called on time in full (OTIF) which is used by DeLaval to measure the performance of delivery of their supply chain at the interface to customer. This was the basis for the following issue was formulated: How can information flows within the supply chain be adapted to improve OTIF? To be able to respond to this question a case study had to be carried out. Both primary and secondary data was collected. The primary data came primarily from interviews, but also from seminars and events. The secondary data consisted of internal documents, academic articles, books and other forms of information available to read. The analysis was able to enlighten important issues in the information flow. For example: existing problems in the systems used to manage information and drawings, weaknesses in the internal collaboration and communication, the importance of internal and external information sharing. Concrete suggestions on how the enlighten issues above can be solved is for example to implement RFID. A supply chain is as in the front picture of this thesis; never completely straight.
