Introduction. Loxoscelism is a toxic condition caused by the venom of spiders of the genus loxosceles. It may present in two clinical forms, i.e., cutaneous loxoscelism and viscerocutaneous loxoscelism. Case report. We present the case of a 15-months old female who was bitten by a spider of this genus. She suffered massive myocutaneonecrolysis of the lateral and external aspects of the left thigh. The clinical course was characterized by sepsis and intravascular coagulation syndrome which resulted in death. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
