This article proposes a review of Karl Marx's theory of surplus value to understand the world civilizational crisis occurring at present that exploded in 2020. Fifteen theses are presented together with an explanation of each one, to develop the main thesis that the present crisis is a crisis of overaccumulation of capital, as Karl Marx established in the Law of the Decreasing Tendency of the Rate of Profit. In this way, it is determined that the civilizational crisis stems from normal capitalist development; in this framework the covid-19 pandemic emerged, which deepened the subjugation of the population and is an expression of this civilizational crisis. The pandemic caused by COVID 19 Is superimposed on the climate emergency, the deepening of inequalities, the decline of fossil energy and minerals, the loss of biodiversity, the subordination of women in patriarchal societies, the crisis of care, the crisis immigration or structural racism. The analysis of these phenomena allows us to detect common features in all of them. When we observe them, approaching one of them, or looking at them as a whole, we verify that they are anchored In the same roots and Interconnected, forming a deep crisis of civilization. Facing the civilizational emergency means looking at it face to face and tackling its structural roots: a socioeconomic system that pretends to grow Indefinitely on a planet with already crossed physical limits and that, furthermore, unfairly distributes the consequences of the model. May 68 has been characterized and interpreted in many ways. In this paper I provide an account of three characterizations among the most important: a political crisis; a psycho-drama and a carnival; and a crisis of civilization. I also provide the reasons making me thinking that Raymond Aron is right in most of his contentions about what happened 50 years ago. I also explain the reasons why the May 68 legacy would impossible to claim. However, I contend that the anti-hierarchical criticism by the Parisian students must be taken more seriously. This article reflects on the challenges faced by the theology of liberation in the postmodern context. It points out the contributions of anti-systemic thinking. He proposes three characteristics of Latin American postmodern theology in decolonial key. The first is the vulnerable subjectivity, which is a human capacity to be open to the others. The second is the multiple resistances that arise as resistance practices proposed by social, indigenous and counterculture movements in our continent. There is no place in the world, where a deep discomfort manifests against the increase of the social gaps, to the disrespect for justice, to the unemployment of young people, the abuse of power, and the destruction of nature. A new wave of social movements has been developed. The social forums allowed its globalization. A collective social conscience grows: we cannot continue like this. The kind of economic development that we go thorough today, with its political, psychological, and cultural consequences is the source of the imbalances. At the same time, the need for solutions is essential urgently. It is time to consider new directions and not only adaptations. Gathering forces to act and to think for this purpose, is a priority. This is why, along with the initiative of the Referendum on the water (one of the Common Good) in Italy, the Rosa Luxembourg Foundation made the decision to organize a Conference on the concept of the Common Good of Humanity, to promote a reflection on the links between the two concepts and to integrate the demands and social struggles for a change of society, scenario in which this article is framed.
