The article analyzes the trajectory of Ana Vásquez Bronfman, a Chilean psychologist and writer exiled in France in 1974. Her work focused on the psychological consequences of exile and political repression in the population of Latin American refugees in France, especially in children and adolescents. Her scientific and literary work is highlighted, as well as her reflection on Jewish identity and her encounter with feminism. The article also mentions the COLAT group in Belgium, which was dedicated to the treatment and prevention of psychosocial problems in exiles, and the Franja magazine, which disseminated research on the situation of children and adolescents in exile. After thirty years of the Yucatecan Mayan migration to the United States (1990–2018), the Yucatec Mayas have been returning to Yucatán with US-born children, and, more recently, this second generation of Yucatec Mayas raised in Yucatán has been returning to the United States. Drawing on transnational return theory, this article analyzes the experience of family return to Yucatán and the labor and social integration of the migrant generation, as well as the return of the second generation from Yucatán to the United States. I argue that experiences of transnational return reveal family strategies for survival that connect multiple generations of migrants and nonmigrant workers in wide family and community networks through the migratory circuit of Yucatán-California-Oregon-Oklahoma. Finally, I also show that upon return to the United States, the second-generation Yucatec Maya develops a sense of identity and transnational family life that connect them with new experiences and community relations in Yucatán and the United States. Through of the documentaries El edificio de los chilenos (2010) and Venían a buscarme (2018), made in a biographic tone by their directors, both children of mir militants, we propose to think theoretically about the author's generational authority in the social memories of dictatorial violence. We also suggest to reflect on their work's place in the post-memory field, as they show their own experiences within the recent past. We are concerned about these questions as they are useful to debate the narrative authority of these children of revolutionary militants about dictatorship, militancy and political violence in a society that, still, seems to be demanding the proofs that can authorize sufficiently enough any perspective on the recent past. This study aims to show how continuity in further education of the daughters of immigrants is the main strategy for social inclusion and access to greater personal autonomy. The findings of a survey of nearly a thousand students from four secondary schools in one of the areas with the highest concentration of immigrants and Roma population of the city of Alicante, and thirty in-depth interviews with girls both at high schools and University students of Moroccan origin and their teachers, show the relationship between gender, educational inclusion and expectations of social mobility. The findings of this research also show the significant social and cultural changes arising from the inclusive education of women and how these changes have a decisive effect in intergenerational and intercultural relationships. The aim of this paper is to study the social integration process of children of immigrants from Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe in Almería (Spain). We study the social integration process in the following dimensions: socioeconomic, mixed relationships, cultural references, norms (rules of conduct), transnationality and psychosocial factors. Data were obtained by the administration of a questionnaire. The results show that the origin is a key variable in defining the social integration process. Furthermore there are other important variablesthat affect the integration process of immigrants, such as human capital, the (social) environment or religious patterns. Taking into account the variety of elements involved in the integration of immigrants in Almeria, we would speak of integration as a fragmented process which doesn´t reflect any linear logic. This article discusses the conditions experienced by Argentines and Chileans who were exiled during their native countries' dictatorships in the 1970s and 1980s. The author comments on the intergenerational effects of the political repression by the dictatorships on their own citizens, particularly the impact on children. She also examines the unique position of children born to exiled parents who have settled in foreign countries, referred to as the second generation. The changes in social and family values and living conditions are also explored.

The immigrant population in the Netherlands has been named and defined under the categories of ethnic minorities and allochtonen. Although these categories are directly related to specific policies, these terms became very soon common social categories. The extended use of the term ethnic minority led to the construction of the immigrant as culturally and socio-economically different. The extended use of the term allochtoon led to identify the immigrant, also in the second and third generation, as "from another country" or eternal foreigner. The main result, as we will see in this article, is that immigrants, also after two or three generations, continue to be seen as "the others", the different, the foreigners or the non-indigenous. Transnational migration between the US and Mexico has become an important area of research in recent years. This article explores the transnational religious practices of San Miguel, a community in the Lake Pátzcuaro area in the state of Michoacán, México. Specifically, this focused ethnography examines the "cargo"(community officers) system from a transnational lens. In it we highlight one family's experience in having a cargo while living in the United States, or what we call a carguero transnacional. We call carguero transnational the person who fulfills the function of carguero in his origin community while living in the United States. We believe the transnational carguero plays an important role as educator when he/she instills in his/her children and grandchildren the aspiration to participate in San Miguel's social life and in the organization of events, the patron's saint celebration in this case. This study's intention is to ethnographically analyze a transnational families situation in which we observe that the first, second, and third generation continue religious and social practices during the patron saint's celebration in San Miguel, Michoacán. The reluctance of some Muslim students to remove their veils to attend French public schools stirred up an intense debate on the capacity of the French lay model to adapt to new social realities. On the other hand, the revolts that recently took place in the outlying neighbourhoods of many French cities were a hard blow to the image of France as an example of co-existence and social cohesion. In the present article, the authors reflect on the political response to these events, and they consider whether or not these phenomena have meant a challenge to the French republican model.
