The purpose of this study was to investigate how management teams perceive curriculum management in low-performing Chilean schools. School principals from 25 institutions considered poorly performing were interviewed about the factors that hinder curriculum management at the macro, medium, and micro levels. The findings show that the executive teams tend to identify barriers to curriculum management in aspects unrelated to their leadership practices and attribute the responsibility for the results to the pedagogical management of teachers and student performance. The conclusion is that it is necessary to strengthen pedagogical leadership and the involvement of school leaders to ensure consistency between the guidelines of the required curriculum and its flexible and situated implementation according to the contexts and needs of the schools. The effective connection between schools and families is a crucial aspect of the educational success of students. This study focused on designing and evaluating educational workshops to strengthen this link in the General Basic Education School Rotary International in Canton Mocache. The design of the workshop system was based on a thorough review of the literature on school-family bonding, as well as on the specific needs identified in the educational community. Workshops were developed that addressed topics such as effective communication, parental involvement in school activities, and strategies to support learning at home. These workshops were designed taking into account cultural diversity and variations in family expectations and values. The mixed methodology employed included exploratory surveys to teachers, as well as pre-test and post-test to 35 families and 37 students respectively, along with a validation by expert criteria. Results revealed significant improvements in school-family communication, parental involvement in school activities, and student academic achievement. These findings suggest that the designed educational workshops have a positive impact on strengthening the school-family bond, thus contributing to improve the educational quality and academic development of students. Inclusive good practices are successful actions or experiences that can be replicated to ensure educational quality for all. However, there is a paucity of data that identify what characteristics these practices should include to support students within an inclusive educational centre. This paper presents the meaning of good inclusive educational practices with special attention to students affected by rare diseases. The aim is to identify and characterise good practices within the framework of an inclusive school. A qualitative methodology is used and, as by drawing on different case studies from eight autonomous regions, we look at how participants conceptualise inclusive practices in general, and students with rare diseases in particular. The results highlight the complexity and heterogeneity of the concept of good practices, the involvement of schools when it comes to introducing changes in their organisation and functioning, in the supports and in classroom management and methodologies. However, these actions need to be extended to the entire educational system, which implies a profound change in its structure. This study arises with the aim of analyzing whether there are differences between teachers and families in the inclusion perception of schools, their commitment to educational inclusion and if the self-reported variable "having information about disability" impacts on the commitment to inclusion. To do this, the Educational Center Perception Questionnaire, taken from the Index for inclusion (Booth et al., 2006) and the Perception and Commitment to Inclusion Questionnaire, adapted from Sosa's study (2019), have been applied. The sample was made up of 539 participants, of whom 169 were in service teachers from the region of Extremadura (Spain) and 370 family members (mothers or fathers) of pupils attending these schools. This is a descriptive-cross-sectional with ex post facto measures design. The results show that families who report having little information about disability perceive more inclusion in schools. Families and teachers agree on the high perception of barriers and score low in the variable "inclusive practices". However, there is a greater commitment to inclusion among families. This paper analyzes the formative experiences that take place in the school lunchroom. For this purpose, it is situated in shelter school located in the southern region of Mendoza. The process of children's involvement in school culinary practice is analyzed, paying attention to the ways in which peer relationships develop and describing the process by which students participate in increasingly complex ways. It is identified that in the participation process students go through three moments; in each one of them students are referred to as small, medium and large in the school context. These classifications are linked to belonging to certain grades, but they also imply the recognition of knowledge about the practices that take place in the school lunchroom. On the other hand, in these different phases, boys and girls are linked in different ways with their peers, assuming different forms of participation in the development of the task. Introduction: Promoting intrapreneurial behavior is vital in any organization, including those in the educational context. This behavior is characterized by seeking opportunities, acting proactively to take advantage of those opportunities, as well as adapting to the environment and acting innovatively. Likewise, if teachers want to teach entrepreneurship to students, they must act as role models showing innovative behavior, based on action and experience in the development of new projects in the educational environment. With the aim of delving deeper into teacher intrapreneurship, this study empirically examines the influence of organizational identification on teacher intrapreneurial behavior and the mediating role that work engagement can play in this relationship. Method: We used a structural equation model with the partial least squares technique to analyze the data reported in a questionnaire by 234 teachers (63% female; Mage = 45 years) belonging to several educational centers, mostly public and in southern Spain (Andalusia). Results: The results show that there is a positive relationship between organizational identification and work engagement and that, in addition, both have a positive influence on intrapreneurship. Moreover, results confirm that the relationship between organizational identification and intrapreneurship is totally mediated by work engagement. Conclusions: In view of these results, we recommend that educational authorities and school principals promote greater organizational identification of teachers with their school to stimulate their involvement in their work and greater intrapreneurial behavior. The main purpose of this study is to characterize teaching strategies around family participation from the teacher's perspective with a cross-eye look between assistant principals and parents. The narrative method is used and data are gathered by using a semi-structured interview and an opinion survey. The sample consists of 17 teachers, 2 assistant principals, and 54 parents from two institutions. The results highlight three strategies: 1) collaboration with the school, 2) communication with the school, and 3) support for learning. It is suggested to generate effective alliances between teachers, parents, and principals through interaction spaces that allow sharing ideas, opinions, and experiences with input from families. It is concluded that teacher disposition to favor parental involvement in schools is key to accomplish the strategies used and that teaching actions are meaningful when they are aimed at enhancing parental involvement to improve student academic performance. The research, of a qualitative nature, analyzes the processes of family participation in schools from the perspective of 42 pre service teachers. The data were obtained from document analysis, the "Incomplete Sentences" strategy, and focus groups. The results point to the existence of languishing participation associated with a receptive or decision-making role on secondary school issues. Introduction: Educational management is mediated by educational policies, by their changes, challenges and demands and by their application in local, regional and national contexts. To achieve articulation with local development, education must be attended to in its formal, non-formal and informal spheres. Objective: Analyze the elements of non-formal and informal education that can be integrated with formal education, in an educational management that favors local development. Methods: Empirical method with the application of surveys and group meetings in Popular Councils of the provinces of Mayabeque and Havana, aimed at diagnosing the knowledge of educational management from the local perspective and the formal, non-formal and informal forms of education. Results: Educational management is seen only from school management and the role of school directors where 92% of respondents report some knowledge of formal education. 49.0% of respondents have notions of non-formal education and how they are managed from the local and only 17.8% know how educational management manifests itself in informal education. Conclusions: The integrated analysis of formal, non-formal and informal forms of education enables the continuous improvement of local educational management. The reconciliation between these, the educational needs and the local development plans, ensure the creation of multifunctional spaces of different areas of knowledge and facilitate community integration in all educational areas. This study brings together the results of two researches on the relationships between families of Latin American origin emigrated to Barcelona (Spain) and the schools their children attend. Both investigations were carried out by members of the same team at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, on two times, 2005-2007 and 2011-2013, in which the economic and social situation in the host country was different. Were made in total 35 interviews, aimed at obtaining narratives about the migration process and the expectations and experiences related to school. We proceeded to the creation of categories emerged from data, and each interview was segmented in quotations for analysis with the help of ATLAS.ti. The results show the presence of family strategies for intercultural harmony and favoring the convergence of educational projects. Regarding institutional dynamics, were determining factors in the educational inclusion legitimizing family practices, the type of managing diversity in the classroom, personalized communication, guidance to families and the presence of a caring attitude in the teachers. This study aimed to understand the beliefs of teachers that hinder parent involvement in the education of their children at elementary school level. Twenty teachers were chosen from two schools of low socioeconomic status and low parent involvement in a state in northwestern Mexico. The teachers took part in in-depth interviews and answered an open-ended questionnaire. It was found that the teachers ascribe this low level of involvement to the parents' lack of interest and sense of responsibility. The teachers do not consider it necessary to implement specific strategies to involve families, and they simply give information and face up to the situation. It is concluded that teachers' beliefs are an obstacle to parent involvement, and therefore, it is necessary to raise awareness to enable teachers to restate their beliefs on the value of parent involvement in education. This work is aimed at analyzing the way families act when it comes to get involved in their adolescent children's studies before and after participating in a family education program, which involved 79 families and 7 Compulsory Secondary Education schools. The analyzes support the conclusion that there are significant differences in families' behavior when they get involved in their children's education, before and after participating in the program. Although since the 1993 Education Act in Mexico established parental participation in schools through the newly created school participation councils (CEPs), these have rarely been more than a dead letter. Most of the studies on the subject have attempted to explain why this is so in the general terms. However these have lacked close ethnographic study of school processes that include the CEPSs. This article draws on three years of field research in a rural school zone in Jalisco. Not satisfied with culturally essentialist notions of parental apathy of disinterest the authors examine the reason why this couture of silence occurs. Through a journey of understanding of school-community relations of several primary and one secondary school that included classroom observation of teaching, ethnographic interviews and conversations with parents we reached the conclusion that the relationship between school and community is "a divorce of convenience". Each party finds it more convenient to keep it from the other rather than collaborating to improve the education of the students. The details of this phenomenon are discussed in the article. This paper examines the social representations of families and schools with regard to their mutual involvement. The objectives are: a) to identify through the discourse of teachers, families and social agents the reasons and intentions behind involvement; and b) according to these discourse, to characterize families in relation to the way in which they fit in with legitimated relationship norms. Research was conducted in six Early Education and Primary schools in disadvantaged contexts located in Andalusia (Spain), with projects aimed at strengthening relationships between schools, families, and the community. The techniques used to produce information were individual and group interviews. The findings show a dichotomic characterisation of families: deficient vs. normalisation. Furthermore, civil associations are seen to play a role as mediators in such relationships, encouraging reflection within schools and enabling the accomplishment of more complex interpretations based on the social and cultural conditioning factors that frame these relationships. At the present time important changes are taking place in the ways families live. These affect the formal context for learning and require an adequate response. Professionals need to be conscious of what these family changes suppose so as to respond with adequate perspectives and strategies, and which make a family school relationship viable in any kind of situation. This paper explores the factors that determine knowledge and technology transfer (TT) between the university and business in a developing country. The objective is to analyze the impact of these activities on regional development by adopting the open innovation perspective and focusing on the individual. To do this, after a literature review and using qualitative methodology, ten semi-structured interviews with teachers at the Technical University of Oruro (UTO) and managers of small and medium enterprises in the Department of Oruro (Bolivia) were conducted. The main results show that these activities are still very incipient in the region, so their impact on regional development is low. In conclusion, this study establishes that the determinants for TT activities between the UTO and the business sector can be divided into opportunities and barriers. Among the opportunities for the UTO, internal improvements and a more proactive role in society stand out. For the companies, the opportunities are improved productivity and competitiveness. On the other hand, the barriers to TT are bureaucratic, lack of funding, lack of confidence and lack of professionalism. This paper tackles the ever present issue of cooperation between family and school. Such cooperation is necessary if the school is to educate (i.e. facilitate the learning of moral values). Furthermore, experience is a required ingredient in the task of educating. The family is, therefore, a vital element of education since it occupies a key position in the experience of moral values. The authors advocate a change in the organizational structure of schools that will enable the family to participate actively in the running of the school and to be jointly responsible for the centre's educational project.
