The objective is to describe home patient care plans after myocardial revascularization (MR) based on the Mid-Range Nursing Theory for Cardiovascular Rehabilitation (TMA Enf-RCV). This is a multiple case study in which data collection was performed at the home of seven patients in the postoperative period of MRI, in Sobral-Ceará, between June and December 2019. The information collected was organized in individual reports and then, joint analytical synthesis was performed. The assessment of rehabilitating behavior and stimulus for cardiovascular rehabilitation (CVR) involved physiological adaptive problems, self-concept, role performance and interdependence, with 50% of nursing diagnoses focusing on problems and being associated with the physiological mode and 57% of health promotion diagnoses were related to self-concept mode. The nursing rehabilitation intervention included the promotion of physical exercises, encouragement of the patient and family in care, education about adaptive strategies, psychosocial support, among others. This study supports the applicability of TMA Enf-RCV as an effective intervention for CVR with a focus on quality of life. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Cardiovascular diseases represent the leading cause of death worldwide, and education interventions are an effective measure to control modifiable risk factors in patients undergoing cardiac rehabilitation; therefore, studying this phenomenon allows expanding the tools to face this situation. Objective: To determine the impact of educational interventions to foster health in patients undergoing cardiac rehabilitation. Materials and methods: A scientific literature review was conducted in the PubMed, SciELO, LILACS, EBSCO, MEDES, CUIDEN, Dialnet, ScienceDirect and CUIDATGE databases, based on the PRISMA statement proposal for systematic reviews, registered in the Prospero database (CRD42023398444). The Jadad scale was used for the methodological assessment, according to the peer approach. Results: The initial search yielded 14,849 publications, with 10 of them meeting the inclusion criteria. The mean age of the sample population was 63 years old, male gender. Telemedicine and education software design were resources to implement the interventions, finding a reduction in hospitalizations for cardiac reasons. Regarding mental health, long-term reductions in anxiety and depression were found. Conclusions: The time until the first cardiovascular hospitalization was 502 (469-535) days in the Intervention Group, against 445 (400-491) days in the Control Group. When evaluating medication adherence, it was evidenced that 94 % of the participants had improvements. Regarding cardiovascular risk stratification, both the intervention (26 %) and the control (6 %) groups shifted to the lower-risk class. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: at the beginning of professional Physiotherapy training in the Pulmonary Cardiovascular field, in Colombia, and its evolution who was parallel to the scientific and technological advances so that, at the end of the 20th century revealed a greater knowledge from the evaluation, treatment and improving life expectancy in patients with cardiovascular and chronic respiratory disease. Colombian universities that lead the undergrade programs in physiotherapy work jointly with the Colombian Association of Physiotherapy (ASCOFI) gave the support in continuing education, with specific seminars and certificates in the area, with national and international speakers, in the context of informal, which lead to a great subject reform at the credit level, content and objectives within the curriculum, in addition, clinical rotations, the aim was to form a profile optimizing insertion labor and social development with specialized skills and competencies at the pulmonary cardiovascular level that favor the integration, positioning and impact the physiotherapist role in the Intensive Care Units (ICU), emergencies, hospitalization and external consultation. The effectiveness of this alliance was the pillar for the creation of specializations in Critical Care, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy in our country. Development: the article is based on the reflection of the training and professional performance of the Colombian Physiotherapist within the Pulmonary Cardiovascular Domain (PCD). Their advances, scope and demands to defend their professional practice in this area, and likewise the development and dynamics of the physiotherapist in our country, which reflected in the autonomy, the introduction of a large number of actions and behaviors of specialized care and comprehensive approach between the PCD, neuro-musculoskeletal and integumentary domains which have turned the physical therapist an essential resource in all hospital and health care centers, favoring the optimization of resources, the timely and effective response to the growing demand for respiratory and cardiovascular disease. Conclusion: although the balance in the PCD in Colombia is positive, the demand continues in an exponential grow, it is important to consider the distribution of specialist physiotherapists or those with optimal skills in the area in different regions of the country, who can respond to the community health care needs and their epidemiological profile, propose alliances, actions and discussions with scientific, governmental and educational associations that allow regulating the quality of postgraduate training programs and continuing education that arise permanently. The psychological variables have a special relevance in the coronary affectations. The aim of the present work was to study the evolution of different psychological variables, of quality of life and of adjustment psychosocial, in patients who have suffered an acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and attended a cardiac rehabilitation program, which included, among other, a module of physical activity. The measurements were made when the ACS debuted and 3 months after the cardiac event in a total of 146 men (57.86 years of age (dt = 9.45)) who had undergone a diagnostic catheterization with therapeutic intent within 3 days. The study design was of the quasi-experimental, prospective and longitudinal type. The results at 3 months after suffering the cardiac event show lower levels of anxiety (Cohen's d = .61; p < .01), depression (Cohen's d = .33; p < .05), psychological distress (Cohen's d =. 72; p < .01) and anger (Cohen's d = .34; p < .01), and higher personal strength scores (Cohen's d = .37; p < .01) or life appreciation (Cohen's d =. 35, p < .01). In the ACS, knowing the psychosocial evolution of the patient is considered fundamental next to the usual medical control. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
