Objective: Analyze the dynamics of employment in Sonora during the recessions observed in the period from 2000 to 2023. Methodology: The technique of identification of classic economic cycles and sectoral synchronous diffusion indices is used. Results: The Covid-19 pandemic recession had greater spread compared to previous crises because a greater number of sectors registered setbacks in job creation. The sectoral synchronous diffusion index reached a value of 89% and the weighted variant reached 99%. The most affected economic activities were agriculture, services for businesses, homes and people, and the processing and construction industries. Limitations: The study analyzes state dynamics but does not investigate the influence of national or international shocks. Conclusions: Measuring the impacts of cyclical recessions on the labor market in Sonora provides statistical input that allows regional economic policies to be designed to overcome recessionary episodes. This article studies the models of female subjectivity in the most viewed Spanish tv series during the period of economic recession as interpretive accounts of the ideological tensions underlying a context that rethinks the role of women. The qualitative analysis, applied to ten coprotagonists of these fictions, shows that female characters lack leadership and proactivity in the public sphere, their natural competencies are limited to resilience for adapting to the applied austerity measures, and they act as a moral contrast to the male entrepreneur as gender stereotypes are updated in the neoliberal imaginary. Despite the relevance of contractionary episodes of GDP, in practice, it is common to use incorrectly -as synonyms- terms such as recession, depression, slowdown, stagfation and defation, so it is important to characterize them punctually. For this purpose, we use a quantitative criterion based on Artis et al. (1997). We found two moderate recessions: a) 1982Q3-1983Q4 and 1986Q1-1987Q1, which in fact form a single but very long one, b) another mild 2001Q2-2002Q1 recession, and c) two short depressions: 1995Q1-1995-Q4 and 2008Q4-2009Q4. The work examines the processes that make up the context of structural and conjunctural crisis that define North American society at the beginning of the third decade of the 21st century and that are projected in an uncertain direction. The analysis focuses on the relationships between the current economic recession, the impact of the new coronavirus pandemic and the presidential elections that take place in 2020, in a general crisis that has not left the scene and is manifested not only in the economic sphere, but also in the sociopolitical and cultural sphere of the United States in recent decades, despite the adjustments and partial recoveries that have accompanied the logic of capitalism in that country. This article examines structural breaks in the effect of the unemployment duration for the population of Mexico on the probability of migrating, both internal and internationally. Data from the National Survey of Occupation and Employment for 2007, 2008, and 2010 is used, and estimations are made from both binary and multinomial response models. Furthermore, a Chowtype test is used to estimate structural breaks in the unemployment duration effect after the financial crisis, and sensitivity tests are carried out using different specifications of the migration and unemployment duration variables. The results show that after the crisis the unemployment duration effects on the probability of migrating have been reduced, leading to restrictions on the free mobility of the labor factor. Este artículo examina el panorama mundial en el contexto de la pandemia por Covid-19. Aborda ejemplos de distintas medidas que algunos países han tomado para frenar la pandemia y la crisis que la acompaña, y analiza sus resultados en cuanto a contagios y consecuencias económicas. This paper develops evidence for the study of the opening of business and employment flows. A statistical and econometric analysis of the productive sector of the region of México is presented. It found that the recent growth of opening businesses is explained not by market opportunities or innovations, but by the recession push factor. Unemployment that occurs in larger companies has the effect of incentive the opening of businesses on the micro-scale, from entrepreneurs by necessity. The dissemination of health information has to be specialised, rigorous and trustworthy. Its objective is to raise awareness among the population, avoiding, preventing and diminishing the incidence of diseases. An efficient communication requires specialised journalists and the collaboration of researchers and scientific societies and institutions. The dissemination of non-exhaustive information may generate unnecessary alarms, promote the adoption of inadequate habits or create false expectations therefore quality communication is necessary. However, with the recession in media, which has had therefore the redundancy of many professionals, compromising the quality. Due to the emergence of internet and social media, the setting has turned out more complex. On the one hand, the citizen has become an emitter, amplifying the dissemination of the message but on the other hand, they demand this communication in real-time, which hinders its high degree of specialisation. The journalism specialised in health confronts nowadays three crises. To the traditional one caused by the complex relations between doctors and journalists, the general recession and the particular recession affecting the traditional press sector are added. Since the current recession broke out, more than 200 media have closed and almost 12000 media professionals have been made redundant in Spain. In the face of limited economic resources, press businesses have decided to reduce their staff and, also in many cases, do without specialised editors. The severity, depth and duration of the recession we are clearly leaving was partly due to the excesses made in the assignment of funds to the construction of infrastructure that was unnecessary and that could not have been more inefficiently planned, awarded or developed. At the same time the country has failed to develop and maintain other more necessary infrastructure that would have somewhat mitigated the crisis. As a result, many lessons have been learned for the future. The public and the market should ensure utmost restraint with respect to the criteria and scales governing the promotion, procurement (if it be the case), funding, development and operation of future infrastructure. The evaluation of the need, use and budgeting of infrastructure should be far more professional and should be totally devoid of any interest from the different links in the chain. Once far greater criteria are in place, the public should then welcome infrastructure that promotes social cohesion, equal opportunities, knowledge, sustainability and the promotion of competition between companies on the market. The objective of this text is to measure the magnitude and analyze the causes of the drop and increase in sector production and employment in Mexico and the State of Mexico during the current international economic cycle. Our main results are as follows: 1) foreign trade has played a central role in the drop and recovery in employment and production throughout the entire cycle, while foreign direct investment and remittances have only been determining factors in the recessive phase; 2) the fluctuations in industrial and manufacturing production are greater than those of the service sector, and all three are greater than those of employment; 3) there has been a reorganization of employment in favor of temporary jobs, especially in the tertiary sector, even during times of expansion. This paper presents evidence that macroeconomic accounting models helped to anticipate the credit crisis and economic recession, whereas equilibrium models, ubiquitous in mainstream policy and research, did not. This study traces the intellectual pedigree of the accounting approach as an alternative to neo-classical economics, and the postwar rise and decline of flow-of-funds models in policy use. The paper includes contemporary case studies of both types of models, and considers why the accounting approach has remained outside mainstream economics. The present global recession that sprung out of the US banking and Real Estate sectors in 2007 has its roots in the massive State and financial upheavals implemented in the face of the 1970s crisis of over accumulation. These transformations had as their objective the reneging of the Keynesian, tripartite model of regulation and its association with the 'Welfare State'. As such, the post-1970 neo-liberal financial order can be best seen as a 'class project' to reassert the dominance of grand capital, especially financial capital, both in the political and economic fields. Examining the intricate links between the present crisis and the structural governance changes enacted over the past 30 years, principally in the United States, the fallacies of ultra-growth and the speculative model become obvious as do their class dimensions and impact. However, despite the seeming ideological death of neo-liberalism, on close inspection, the policies so far enacted by the Obama administration make no concerted move out of the past era of financial sector hegemony. This article studies the corresponding crises in the United States and Mexico, distinguishing between their financial and economic aspects. The focus is on financial crises as natural cycles that may end in more or less deep economic recessions, where they would perform a prophylactic function in eliminating excess investment generated during the expansion stage. The intervention of the Central Bank is very important in mitigating the restrictions on liquidity and in this way tempering the fall in asset prices and, when relevant, the depth of the recession. In September 2007, a serious financial crisis became evident in the developed countries, due to serious mistakes in economic policy. Even against their own ideology, governments have not spared measures to reduce its effects, have failed to contain it, and it advances towards a global recession of uncertain depth and duration. The crisis has already changed the theoretical and practical paradigms that have dominated the academic and policy worlds in the last three decades. It will also cause serious effects in the fragile economic, social and political equilibriums of the developing countries, especially in Latin America because of its dependence on raw materials production, remittances and external capitals flows that are diminishing rapidly. The crisis will lead to a new state-market relation and to new paradigms with large Keynesian influence, and from this, will grow a new opportunity for Latin America, if it consolidates a new way of managing its economy. The United States climbed out of recession as a result of expansive policies by Bernanke at the head of the Federal Reserve, though the liquidity injections have taken time to take effect. Europe is now in a similar situation to that of the US in 20 7 0 and the road ahead appears equally arduous. As far as the Spanish economy is concerned, while this is the most dynamic in the Euro zone, its progress will be largely mapped out by Europe. A high level of debt makes Spain particularly vulnerable, even though there is not expected to be a further relapse into a third recession or a period of deflation, and the country's economy should begin to grow more healthily once Europe is on the mend.
