A new method is proposed for separating fiber material from the main components of cartonboard commonly used for storing liquids and for evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of this material as fiber sources for paper manufacture. The mechanical resistance of the cartonboard has been reduced by hydration using NaOH to accelerate the process. This process destroys hydrogen bonding that joint fiber-fiber. The process allows recovering 92% of the existing fiber in the carton packaging , which makes this material a potential alternative as fibber source for the manufacture of paper. The recovered material contains a high quantity of stickies, although it is possible to reduce this amount to levels that allows using the recovered fiber in paper manufacture. In this paper is carry out a study about the quality of paper board 127 g/cm², which is produced from a mix of paper pulp and bagasse pulp, the latter boiled at a high pressure, approximately at 14 kgf/cm², and using as solvent 1.5-2.5 % of soda y 50% of ethanol. To evaluate the property CMT paper sheets were made in a laboratory. The CMT values were extrapolated at industrial level using the correlations obtained between the two levels of study. These correlations were determined from experimental study. In this work was shown that to use high pressure during the boiling in the organosolv pulping are obtained a paper board of a better quality than that of the paper obtained in the process where normal pressure is used. Se describe la evaluación tecnológica de la planta cubana de papel Papelera Pulpa Cuba a fin de estimar la factibilidad de un sistema para el procesamiento de sus aguas residuales. Se caracterizaron los procesos mediante diagramas fuente-sumidero y se simuló la recuperación de agua y fibra con el sistema propuesto de recuperación de aguas residuales. Los resultados indican buenos beneficios en materia de ahorro de agua fresca y energía.
