In Santiago from Cuba a new factory of cements will be built by what will be big the earth movements and mineral during the construction stages and exploitation of the same one. The constructive stage has a three year-old approximate duration and in its different phases they will move 650 000 earth m3 close, generating high levels of contamination for suspended particles. The study of the quality of the air in the construction area demonstrates that the hygienic quality of the air in the area lowers investigation is already polluted with suspended particles of powder, which are compound fundamentally for the metals heavy Fe, Co and Ni, although two non heavy metals are also presented (Mn and Si) in high concentrations. The influence of the spraying parameters on the microstructure of ZrO2 -- 36 wt.% Al2O3 y ZrO2 -- 17wt.% CeO2 coatings was evaluated. The coatings were produced by oxyacetylene flame spraying on substrates of AISI 1020 carbon steel, which had a previous deposited bond coat of 90 wt.% Ni -- 5 wt.% Al -- 5 wt.% Mo. The studied variables were the standoff distance between the torch and the substrate (7.5, 10 and 12.5 cm) and the influence of two commercial powders: Eutectic Castolin® and Saint Gobain®. It was established that the internal morphology of the powders has a high influence on the microstructure of the coatings while, the spraying distance has a great influence on the microhardness and the porosity of the obtained zirconia-alumina and zirconia-ceria coatings. Energy values that are transferred as crystalline defects during the mechanical alloying process on powder of the Cu-Cr and Cu-Mo systems and energy dissipated by heat flow of vials in SPEX mill were estimated. The results indicate that the transferred energy values to metallic powders for creating crystalline defects are rather smaller (around two orders of magnitude) than the energy value supplied by the mill. The effect of silver metallic powder (10 % in weight) in the thermoelectric (TE) properties of Sm0.05Ca0.95MnO3 pellets are studied. XDR patterns show that the silver does not enter in the perovskyte lattice, but seems to change the oxygen stoichiometry. Then the concentration of Mn3+ changes, producing a reduction of resistivity ρ and the slope of temperature dependence of Seebeck coefficient (or termpower) S .
