The article focuses on the economic aspects of immunization programs, particularly cost and finance issues. It is divided into three parts, the first part analyzes the magnitude of the financial problems that are now faced, particularly from the perspective of low income and high fertility countries. The second part gives a brief account of several recent debates on this issue. The third part states that the immunization community will be able to design external finance mechanisms.
