The research work carried out presents the objective of perfecting the design of the rotary vacuum filter from the raw material pulp of sugarcane bagasse, with a view to increasing the productivity of the Over Mechanics machine for the production of paper in the Business Unit. Basic (UEB) Cuba 9. To meet this objective, the specific theoretical methodology in pulping was used; The percentages of consistency in the inlet, mat formation and outlet streams were calculated, and the readings of the inlet streams were recorded before and after refinement, using operational technical methods and the control laboratory with its equipment intended for these purposes. The results reflect an increase in productivity of one ton per day, which translates into values such as an income derived from an increase in productivity of 8,000 pesos per month. This improvement was carried out in July 2022 and to date it has been possible for the production process to remain in operation, as suggested in this work, so the improvement can be classified as correct and applied. Introduction: The quality of beer packaged in bottles depends to a large extent on the conditions under which the pasteurization stage takes place in a tunnel, with the inlet temperature of the beer as well as the water temperatures in the different zones being the main variables that influence the pasteurization units. Objective: Study the behavior of the beer inlet temperature as well as the water temperature in the different zones of a tunnel pasteurizer under anomalous conditions, through modeling and simulation with the COMSOL software, for the analysis of its influence on the units of pasteurization. Materials and Methods: The system to be modeled is formed by the bottle that contains the beer to be pasteurized, which passes through the zones of a tunnel, and the water that is supplied through the showers arranged in each zone for this purpose. Results and Discussion: Four variants are studied, starting from a base case with changes in the variables of beer inlet temperature, and water temperature in the different zones, analyzing in each case the incidence in the pasteurization units. The present work was carried out in the Industrial Center "2 de Diciembre", located in Camagüey, Cuba with the objective of obtaining mathematical models that characterize the thermal loads of the freezing tunnel, depending on the inlet temperature and the quantity of meat. It was observed that there is a direct relationship between the amount of meat to be cooled and the power demanded, that as the input temperature of the meat increases, the power demanded increases, being this value higher for the greater quantity of meat to be stored, as well as that the heat demanded decreases when the inlet temperature of the frozen meat increases. The mathematical models obtained are of great importance for the company since through them it is possible to predict energy consumption for the concept of cooling and freezing the meat, thus predicting the influence of the factors of quantity and temperature of the meat inlet on the energy needs of the company. The NEVERA software was used to obtain the numerical results, while the statistical package Statgraphics® Plus version 5.1 was used for the statistical processing of the data obtained. In this work, the influence of ambient temperature in gas turbines in a coastal subtropical zone was studied, both under design conditions and after years of operation. Statistical methods, direct observation, and expert judgment were used during the study. The fundamental parameters of this machine were statistically processed and compared, depending on the variation of the ambient temperature, plotting their influence before and after maintenance, and with their original behavior. It was found that the high temperature produces a decrease in power of about 2.5 MW. As a possible solution, the cooling of the inlet air was evaluated by different methods, selecting the absorption cooling method, which has a positive impact on the environment, although the size of this equipment is disadvantageous. The objective of the present work was to evaluate the influence of the process conditions in some physical properties of by spray dried acerola powder. The inlet air temperature maltodextrin content had significant effects in the rehydration, gross density and hygroscopicity of the dehydrated acerola pulp. It was found that the increase of the inlet air temperature caused a reduction in the three physical properties. An increase in the maltodextrin content increased gross density, with a decrease in rehydration and hygroscopicity. The effects of the process parameters in the physical properties of acerola powder were comparable with the reported results for other spray dried fruit juices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the present work, the modeling and simulation of a centrifugal pump is carried out using numerical methods. A Computational fluid dynamics technique was used for the simulation task. The performance characteristics of the pump, that is, head, power and efficiency versus flow were obtained. With purpose of validation the numerical results obtained were compared to the experimental data supplied by the manufacturer. It was verified that there was a very good agreement between numerical simulation and the manufacturer's data. The difference between both results is always lower than 3%. The streamlines in the inlet pump through the impeller, the axial velocity contours at the impeller inlet and the pressure and velocity fields inside the pump are investigated and analyzed. The model implemented and the results obtained constitute the basis for developing investigations where the performance of the pump is evaluated by modifying the flow path at the inlet of the impeller.
