In 2023, the 150th anniversary of the death of Jean-Louis-Rodolphe Agassiz, a Swiss naturalist recognized for his analysis of glacier movement and his proposal of the existence of glaciations in the Pleistocene, is commemorated. Although initially rejected, his theory was eventually accepted and contributed to the systematic study of evidence of glaciations. Agassiz was recognized for his work on glaciers and his influence on the scientific community of his time. [Extracted from the article]
