To submerge oneself into the philosophical richness of the literary work of José Martí demands that we find, within his literary-artistic assumptions, a philosophical discourse of humanistic and political-cultural character that results in an understanding of the world which cannot be reduced to its ontological, epistemological or anthropological contents. Such an endeavor, which reveals the dimension and philosophical scope of Martí's literature, must conceive the philosophical knowledge within new perspectives. This is the theme treated in this article. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
