The global health crisis triggered by COVID-19 has brought mental health conditions to the forefront. In Argentina, the post-pandemic period has witnessed an increase in consultations for learning difficulties among children and adolescents, as well as issues such as insomnia, stress, anxiety, and depression. Public organizations recommend disseminating responsible, evidence-based information to guide individuals in seeking professional support. A study scrutinized the news stories with the most engagement on social media pertaining to mental health in 2021 and 2022. The analysis unveiled the most prominent topics, the presentation of the news stories, and their distinct characteristics. The study asserts that media coverage often portrays mental health in a fragmented manner, frequently highlighting individual cases of well-known figures without taking a comprehensive approach that considers public policy solutions.
