The aim of this paper is to address the predominantly conflictive nature of interethnic relations in the context of the Spanish colonial settlements established in the Valdés Peninsula (Chubut province, República Argentina): San José Fort and Puesto de la Fuente (1779-1810). We specifically present, describe and examine the episodes of inter-ethnic tensions and violence in these settlements over time. To achieve this, we will focus on the analysis and critical discussion of the information provided by the primary sources throughout the 31 years of occupation. Understanding the uniqueness of intercultural relations in these scenarios necessarily involved approaching them from a comparative perspective, by considering their broader historical and regional trajectory in Patagonia in the time period investigated. Consequently, we were able to identify the prominent role of indigenous groups from Southern Patagonia and recognize multiple factors contributing to the genesis of the indigenous raids experienced by these colonial settings. The article describes the experience of adapting the subject "Real Educational Challenges" to the virtual modality during the COVID-19 pandemic. It highlights the use of digital tools to improve teacher monitoring and student collaborative work. However, it mentions the limitation of not being able to carry out fieldwork in person. The article invites us to rethink university teaching practices, taking into account the value of technology to enrich online education, but also recognizing the importance of face-to-face interaction. In this research, we pretend to account for the causes or motivations that lead different subjects to commit crimes as they tell in their own life stories. These subjects live in street situations and were interviewed during the years 2003 to 2011 in the city of Buenos Aires. We start from a multidisciplinary perspective between psychoanalysis and linguistics. We are interested in life stories as a particular form of orality, which also allow us to analyze, explain and interpret examples of how these subjects relate to guilt. One of the forms found is that of those who before the crime feel guilty. The second is that of those who feel no guilt about the crime. And the third is that of those who do not feel it. We also emphasize social inequality as the cause of crime. We analyze linguistically the hierarchy of information, especially the focus of emissions. A gunflint is a piece of rock used to activate firearms by producing a spark and the subsequent ignition of gunpowder to fire a projectile. Originated in Europe, this technology was developed and used between the 17th and 19th centuries. Since the study of this technology is at an early stage in Argentinian archaeology, the main goal of this paper is to present a review of the available data on the subject. Thus, aspects of the gunflints' origins and circulation, the types of weapons in which they were used, the manufacturing techniques and raw materials used, the techno-typological attributes, the context of use and life cycle, and existing records up to date on gunflints recovered in archaeological contexts in Argentina, are presented and discussed. We expect that this review and synthesis paper works as a reference for the study of this "historic" technology among researchers interested and unfamiliar with it. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article focuses on the history of Antilles and how racialist insularism can help achieve the objective of a regional confederation. Topics discussed include the Antillean peoples as agents in a geopolitical reordering process; the fall of the U.S. and the rise of China's influence in the region; and the legacy of the 19th century project of the Antillean League for a possible realignment of forces at the regional level.

In Argentina, as in many other countries of the region, even today deaf people finish school as functional illiterates, with no knowledge of the pragmatic and sociocultural values of the written language. However, deaf young people are nowadays learning to read and write through Internet, e-mail, chat and SMS. This article gives evidence of their appropriation of a complex object as written language and from a non scholastic discursive practice as writing through emails. From a theoretical framework of textual grammar, the authors analyze and describe the text functions in a specific communicative situation. Their analysis includes not only the syntactic but also the discursive activity (the attitudes of the textual producer and consumer). The results show how the deaf are mastering the symbolic values of written language although they are still unaware of the pragmatic adequateness of gender and register. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The authors analyze a written text produced by a psychotic patient from the perspective of the theory of enunciation and of discourse analysis. The patient was diagnosed through psychoanalysis and through this theory we try to address the subject of the enunciation, in the belief that, if the subconscious is linguistically structured, the notion of such structure can lead us to ascertain the nature of that subject. We have analyzed such image in relation to its object, the macro speech acts he uses and the formal aspects of the text.
