Introduction: COVID-19 exacerbated the deficit of palliative and end-of-life care provision and increased healthcare services' burden, but the extent of the literature on that topic is unknown. Objective: To describe the evidence of palliative and end-of-life care provision in adults during the COVID-19 pandemic. Materials and methods: The scoping review was performed according to Arksey and O'Malley's methodological framework. The search was conducted in English and Spanish, in PubMed, SciELO, the Virtual Health Library, and the Coronavirus research database. The articles were filtered by title, abstract, and full text. The results were summarized according to the charting technique. Results: Fifty-one publications were included. A total of five categories emerged: 1) Palliative care characteristics, 2) advanced care planning, 3) support for family members and loved ones, 4) telehealth, and 5) nursing role in palliative care. Discussion: The social cost of the pandemic is reflected in the increased burden of palliative care units, higher mortality rates, and the decreased average age of death. Future studies should address the psychosocial impact of COVID-19 on patients' loved ones, as well as the impact at the community level. Conclusions: Palliative and end-of-life care is an essential tool for COVID-19 patients care. With the goal of assess the process quality of knowledge organization in university libraries of architecture in Argentina, it is been made a study of indexing and summary (abstract and notes of content) in OPACs. The results shows that levels of exhaustiveness are the average recommended for specialized libraries, but it is high in some cases and really low in others, therefore not much homogeneous; whereas the specificity level is acceptable. The calculation indicates a very limited consistency level. It has been detected a great number of spelling errors as much in indexing as in summary. Even though most of records have indexing expressions, the summary inclusion is limited in the libraries. Abstract is set as the tool through which extracts the appropriate text message to ensure the transmission of scientific content. It is a complex analysis technique is highly valued by the user. The objectives of this study are to analyze the different meanings of the term abstract from different researchers, research different scientific claims about their quality and type, and highlight its importance as a process that shapes the content analysis. It makes a definition of the term according to current needs and proposes a relevant typology, as well as proposing improvements to strengthen its quality parameters, to ensure the training of documentary, and thus, the information needs of users. This study analyzes rhetorically a corpus of 187 research journal abstracts. It also presents a formal analysis of other abstract variables and of two other published research genres. The most frequent genre is the research article over the essay-like one. The most frequent abstract (about two thirds of the total) presents only an introduction. One third (31.55%) present a methods section and one fourth (25.13%) present a results section. There is no coincidence between main genre predominance in the journal and abstract structure. Abstract structure improves along the time span and extension also increases. There is no significant difference between extension of abstracts accompanying the two genre types. Numerous studies have established the impact of writing summaries based on the reading of various documentary sources in learning. The research presented in this paper attempts to study the relations between students' beliefs regarding reading and writing, the quality of their written summaries, and the level of learning attained by writing summaries. Forty-eight secondary school students participated in the study by writing a summary after reading three texts. The results indicate that the writing of students who have beliefs that are more transactional, demonstrate better organization and greater integration of content; the results also show that students who elaborate more integrated texts obtain greater benefits in terms of learning. Based on previous research in the areas of reading and summary writing, this paper has two goals: (1) to present a guide based on analytical bands to assess summaries of expository texts in a foreign language; and (2) to elaborate on its design process. The first part of the paper seeks to address those questions related to the production of summaries from a cognitive-textual perspective. The second part presents proposals for the application of those theories in the classroom. Finally, some of the existing models for the assessment of written summaries are evaluated and an alternative method is presented for the assessment of summaries in a foreign language with formative aims. The final section focuses on the process of the guide elaboration more than on the description of the resulting guide. The conclusion highlights the formative value of the guide, as it can be used not only to assess the product, but also as a support in the teaching of skills involved in summary writing, for self assessment, peer-evaluation or as guide in student or teacher discussion groups. This paper is aimed at proposing a methodology for a textual analysis of abstracts translation of scientific papers published in the Journal of Agricultural Technical Sciences. The most frequent difficulties in the writing and translation of those abstracts were analyzed. Professionals and investigators' linguistic and communicative needs in the field of Agricultural Engineering were identified too. Researchers and/or professionals can send their papers by email from different places. It is hard to design a training plan for them in which translation, style and writing aspects can be included but it is really important to train these researchers on these topics. The advance of new technologies and the mentioned methodology as digital tools facilitate the comprehension of sources written in a foreign language as well as improve the quality of scientific papers published in the Journal of Agricultural Technical Sciences. This article introduces some of the work and sociological research of Pierre Naville (1904-1993) on employment and automation skills. On the basis of Naville's research, this paper aims to discuss critically the construction of the object characteristic of the classical Sociology of Work. It argues that sociologically relevant 'work' is one which refers to a general social mediation, similar to the concept of 'abstract work' in the late writings of Marx. It also defends that the sociology that could make good use of this 'abstract work' isn't a speciality 'but a systematic articulation of hypothesis designed to clarify as a contrast (by means of empirical research) the logics of the social, that is, a socio-logy. A review of the first hundred years of Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) reviews its significance and role as: (i) a witness to the changes in international scientific leadership; (ii) a classical example of scientific documentation; (iii) a general catalogue of chemical molecules in our natural and artificial world; (iv) a close ally of chemical and pharmacological industries; and (v) a paradoxically unsettled agent at a crossroads of the digital world.
