The electromagnetic and weak nuclear interactions are analyzed using the fundamental principle of symmetry in abstract spaces named theory of Yang-Mills fields, also known as gauge fields, and Higgs's mechanism. Gauge fields are mediators of interactions, whose scope is determined directly by the mass. For this reason, gauge fields are joined with the Higgs mechanism that generates mass to the interaction carriers, maintaining the invariant theory under a gauge transformation. This is achieved through spontaneous symmetry breaking to finally applying this methodology in order to unify the theories of interactions considering the Weinberg-Salam standard model. A methodology for the calculation of the magnetic field inside buildings with Lightning Protection System (LPS), is presented. The conductors of the LPS and the lightning channel are considered by using the hybrid electromagnetic model, which is based on the frequency domain of Maxwell's equations. First, the inductive and capacitive couplings between the different conductors of the LPS are calculated to determine the lightning current distribution in the system. Then, the magnetic field strength is calculated in some points inside the struck structure. Finally, it is presented a characterization of the magnetic strength on different surfaces inside the structure. Results are compared with results of other methodologies proposed in then literature, showing that tool and methodology proposed in this work is adequate to determine the magnetic field inside buildings with LPS. In this article is discussed a subject that generates controversies in the teaching of Physics: why the radian must be the correct unit for the measurements of plane angles. In this work, a program developed in Matlab™ to teach how to evaluate the electric field of electric lines in industrial installations is presented. Considering a plane perpendicular to the line route, the program calculates low frequency electric field values for any spatial point around an electric line of any geometrical configuration, and allows observing the temporal behaviour of the electric field. The behaviour of the electric field for a three phase electric line with different geometrical configurations was simulated in class. The program graphic results were similar to those provided by other authors. The use of the program in class facilitated the comprehension by the students of the behaviour of electric fields near power lines. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Field frequency dependence with the ac magnetic susceptibility in S/AF/F trilayers was studied. Trilayers were deposited in situ onto (001) SrTiO3 substrates using the dc sputtering technique. ac susceptibility measurements, Χ'+ Χ'', were performed under an alternative field amplitude of hac=0.1 Oe applied along to (001)-direction, and frequencies from 1.1 kHz and 51.1 kHz. Trilayers displayed a diamagnetic behavior below TC~ 76 K, susceptibility data shown that superconducting transition wide ΔTC and the superconducting volume fraction fg with the frequency increasing are no affected. We present a solution of the movement equation for the classic Klein Gordon field through a lifetime coupling in connected causally zones. By the comparison between the obtained classic solution and the standard result of the Quantum Field Theory (QFT), we find that a part of this solution have not its analogous in the QFT framework. We present a leptogenesis mechanism in which the matter-antimatter asymmetry could be generated from the vacuum expectation value of a gravitational Chern-Simons (gCS) term. This gravitational term appears in an effective field theory which is derived from the string theory. In this effective field theory, the universal axion field is coupled to the gCS term. During any era in which the axion field is varying, the vacuum fluctuations of the gravitational wave amplitud will then be circularly polarized, generating an expectation value for the gCS term. Within the framework of the Ginzburg-Landau theory is considered the superconductor state in a mesoscopic ring, with negligible thickness, in the presence of an applied magnetic field perpendicular to the plane of the ring, when the inner edge comes into contact with a medium with a finite de Gennes b parameter. It is shown that for small values orb there exist superconducting edge states only for magnetic fields greater than a critical field, which depends on b. This implies a reduction of the regions in the phase diagram where the Meissner paramagnetic effect exists. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The effect of a magnetic field on the Andreev reflections (AR) upon a specific superconductor contact is studied. The contact is modeled by a normal "leg" of W width in contact with a high critical temperature superconductor. It is formd that when the magnetic field is zero, the AR vanishes for (1,1,0) orientations of the superconductor. As the field grows, AR appears, such AR shows a first maximum when the energy of the incident electron becomes zero. For larger fields, a second maximum arises in the AR. The positions of the maxima change as the field increases. Finally, it is discussed how these effects can be manifested in differential conductance measurements. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article focuses on the validity of the correspondence principle of De Broglie-Bohm theory. Results of the study conducted for its validity prove that the correspondence principle of the said theory is not fulfilled trajectory by trajectory in its strong form. Results of the comparison of average quantum trajectories and average classical ones have also been analyzed by the researchers. Based on such analysis, they find out that a system not having classical chaos, does not present chaos.

In this work it has been determined the influence of the magnetic treatment upon the behavior of the galvanic couple copper-carbon steel in aqueous solutions of sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid solutions and its influence on the corrosion rate. It was demonstrated that the magnetic treatment of working solutions exerts a positive effect in decreasing the corrosion rate, and this protection method was better than the use of mosto (waste residual of ethylic alcohol production) as inhibitor. Better results have been obtained by using the combination of magnetic field and the inhibitor (sinergetic effect). The processed gravimetric information is compiled in the SIMPLE BOUGUER GRAVITY ANOMALY MAP OF COLOMBIA, EASTERN PANAMA AND ADYACENT MARINE AREAS, published in 1989 by The Geological Society of America Inc. Based on Isostatic anomaly values (approximated) obtained for difference between the observed Simple Bouguer anomaly values and Itself, processed by means of the Bidimensional Fourier Transform, the Physical-Mathematical Stokes model was applied. With this model can be possible to determine the geoid undulations, relating the normal gravity, the anomaly potential and the gravity anomalies; these undulations are based on the WGS-84 ellipsoid. By using the generalization of the Ginzburg-Landau theory proposed by Shanenko and Ivanov (Phys. Lett. A 332, 384 (2004)), in which is taken into account the interaction due to the geometric confinement of the Cooper pairs, it has been obtained the contribution to the energy resulting of the confinement, as a function of the applied magnetic field, for a mesoscopic superconducting cylinder with a hole along its axis, in the presence of an axial uniform magnetic field. Special attention has been paid to the competition between the different types of geometric confinement present in the system, as well as to the role of the multiply connected geometry of the sample. Specifically, it has been found that for the lowest state of the angular momentum (n = 0), the confining energy raise with the increase of the applied magnetic field. The article presents a study related to the physical and chemical properties of water. Based on the study, magnetic field capacity is known to cause temporary changes on the properties of aqueous systems. Furthermore, an experiment was conducted inorder to evaluate the magnetic treatment effect on boiling point temperature of water.
