Abstract

The article discusses research investigating the attachment capacity of juveniles of the seaweed Chondracanthus chamissoi (Gigartinaceae), generated from spores in a laboratory. Topics include the effect of light intensity on C. chamissoi juveniles, the development of secondary attachment discs when placed upon an artificial substrate, and the effect of calcium addition on early attachment C. chamissoi juveniles, as well as their life-cycle phases and development stages.
