In this paper, new catalytic materials based on Mn-doped lanthanum perovskites LaNi1-xMnxO3 were synthesized by the sol-gel resin method with the aim of obtaining high performance nanocatalysts for the dry reformation reaction and shed some light on the interactions between Ni0-metallic nanoparticles and the La2O2CO3-MnO-Mn2O3 oxides formed in situ during the reaction. These synthesized LaNi1-xMnxO3 materials have high potential for the dry reforming reaction, due to the high CH4 and CO2 conversions obtained and the high selectivity towards synthesis gas, without coke formation on the catalytic surface. Manganese, as a dopant agent, prevents sintering of Ni0-metallic active phase due to producing MnOx or MnO/Mn2O3 mixed oxides, with the ability to store and release oxygen that promote the continuous removal of carbonaceous deposits and provide effective adsorption sites for the activate CO2 during the reaction.
