On January 1, 2021, the Civil Code of the People's Republic of China came into force. We are facing a legal text that marks the future of the history of codification in this 21st century. A historical Code not because of the influence that its technique or text will have on other countries or territories, or because of the novelty that it implies in the Asian country which, as we will see, is scarce, but because of the moment in which it approves and because of the number of people to whom it is addressed. The first Civil Code of China was that of 1929-1930, divided into five Books: General Principles, Law of Obligations, Law of Assets, Family and Inheritance. The new Code has a total length of 1,260 articles, structured in seven Books and two "Supplementary Provisions". [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
