Abstract

An study to establish a procedure to correct the self-absortion of the 93 keV radiation from 234Th (UI) in uranium low energy gamma spectrometric determination was carried out using Nal(TI) scintilliator detectors. An experimental parameter (def) was calculated using a simple procedure, which allows to apply the proposed correction with adequate accuracy and reproducibility in a very simple and fast way.
