This paper is based on an understanding of the global immigration control regime as one of legal violence. It analyses the specialist literature that reveals the existence of an economy of deportability, understood as the unequal distribution of the forms of state power in the lives and freedoms of non-nationals, with gender playing a preponderant role. Taking a gender perspective, a selection of texts from the past two decades are reviewed that analyse the deportation and anti-trafficking apparatus in Europe, the United States and South America. The literature corroborates the existence of a gendered economy of deportability that generates social suffering that, in different ways and to differing degrees, shapes the (im)migrant presence in the national order. The objective of this paper is to analyze, in comparative terms, the way in which the migration control regime operates in the Americas and at the borders of Europe. Through the analysis of research carried out in both spaces, I show that a swarm of institutions, actors and forces have been developing to form a control system that both manages and discards migrants. In this sense, the governance of migration today is a chapter, and not a minor one, in the restructuring and reshaping of postcolonial relations between countries, nations and classes of people in the world. The recent electoral successes of right-wing and far-right actors in different parts of the world have prompted discussion on various topics: the causes of their rise, their characteristics and strategies, the motivations of electorates and the depth of the right-wing shifts in a range of societies. This paper proposes key themes for systematising this debate and some clues to understanding the rise of the right in such diverse and heterogeneous national realities. It also suggests recovering a constructivist conceptualisation of "authoritarian traditions" in order to analyse the mobilisation strategies, behaviour and coordination of right-wing groups from a perspective that highlights their dynamic and innovative nature. This approach allows us to (re)think authoritarianism as the result of symbolic practices and discourses that are assembled, (re)invented and updated to serve various purposes. Resumen: La relación entre la actividad sindical y la creciente desigualdad de ingresos observada en las economías avanzadas, a pesar de su ambigüedad teórica, se ha pasado por alto en los estudios empíricos. En este artículo se estima un modelo empírico para 26 países europeos entre 2005 y 2018, especificando la desigualdad de ingresos como una función de la tasa de densidad sindical, su valor al cuadrado y un conjunto de variables de control. El modelo se amplía con la inclusión de otras instituciones del mercado de trabajo para evaluar los efectos distributivos de la densidad sindical en toda la estructura institucional. Se observa una relación significativa y persistente, en forma de U invertida, entre densidad sindical y desigualdad de ingresos. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Resumen: En este artículo se examinan las tendencias de la brecha salarial de género desde la perspectiva de la evolución de los rendimientos salariales de las competencias intelectuales (cognitivas e interpersonales) y físicas (fuerza y capa‐cidad motora). Tras analizar datos armonizados de seis países europeos y datos comparables de los Estados Unidos, se observan variaciones sustanciales en cuanto a la influencia de los precios de las calificaciones profesionales en la brecha salarial. Sin embargo, en todos los países de la muestra, una parte considerable de la variación de la disparidad salarial no puede explicarse por la evolución de los precios de las calificaciones. Resumen: El objetivo de este número monográfico es enriquecer el debate sobre la nueva regulación («rerregulación») del derecho individual del trabajo, aplicando el concepto de segmentación legal desde una perspectiva mundial y distinguiendo tres funciones de la legislación laboral: estandarización, constitución de privilegios e igualación. En este artículo introductorio se utiliza una nueva base de datos creada por los autores, que permite agrupar los países según una tipología de segmentación legal. Resumen: En este artículo se analiza la segregación ocupacional por género y por condición de inmigrante en Europa según la Encuesta de Población Activa de 2005–2019. A diferencia de estudios anteriores, la segregación se cuantifica por separado para mujeres y hombres inmigrantes en cada país. Globalmente es menor para los hombres que para las mujeres y la segunda generación está menos segregada que la primera. Suele ser menor en el noroeste de Europa y mayor en el sudeste. Según el análisis contrafactual, las características individuales explican una pequeña parte de estas diferencias geográficas.
