In the present paper, the author describes a new species of Salvinia, S. herzogii, on Argentine material from Lower Paraná River. It is probable that all specimens of this country determined S. auriculata Aublet, belong to this new species. A key for identification of S. herzogii and related species according to the leaf characters and configuration of the submerged organs is given. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
In the present paper, the fourth of the series which started with a study of the sporophyte of Salvinia oblongifolia, the author reports some data on the following aspects of S. rotundifolia: anatomy of the rhizome and submerged organ.
