The book "The Crucible of Revolutionary and Napoleonic Warfare and European Transitions to Modern Economic Growth" analyzes the impact of the French Revolution and the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars on the transition of European economies towards modern economic growth in the 19th century. It examines the relationship between geopolitics and long-term economic forces, as well as the costs and benefits of these wars on the economic evolution of countries. The role of the United Kingdom as the main victor and its influence on international relations in the following century is highlighted. The impact on the economies of German-speaking countries and France, where significant institutional and economic changes occurred, is also analyzed. It is concluded that only the United Kingdom and Germany emerged in 1815 with the potential to improve their long-term growth and play a leading role in Europe. [Extracted from the article]
