Learning from other firms is identified as an important resource for firm survival. Benchmarking is a learning mechanism that can aid firms in identifying superior organisational capabilities and behaviours among other firms. Firms that possess stronger benchmarking capabilities and are able to align their strategic posture with those of market leaders, may be more likely to enjoy greater firm performance. One strategic posture that has been shown to lead to higher performance is a firm’s entrepreneurial orientation (EO). Notwithstanding, the benchmarking of organisational entrepreneurial postures as a route to enhanced firm performance has received little attention. We empirically examine firm performance implications regarding deviation in key EO dimensions from those of top performing firms. Results suggest that the alignment of various dimensions of EO with those of top-performers are more outstanding than others and that the direction of deviation from the benchmark connotes performance implications. We discuss limitations and potential for future research.

Electroencephalogram (EEG) is an effective non-invasive way to detect sudden changes in neural brain activity, which generally occurs due to excessive electric discharge in the brain cells. EEG signals could be helpful in imminent seizure prediction if the machine could detect changes in EEG patterns. In this study, we have proposed a one-dimensional Convolutional Neural network (CNN) for the automatic detection of epilepsy seizures. The automated process might be convenient in the situations where a neurologist is unavailable and also help the neurologists in proper analysis of EEG signals and case diagnosis. We have used two publicly available EEG datasets, which were collected from the two African countries, Guinea-Bissau and Nigeria. The datasets contain EEG signals of 318 subjects. We have trained and verify the performance of our model by testing it on both the datasets and obtained the highest accuracy of 82.818%.

Las bases comunes de estas implicancias tecnológicas comprenden los campos; por ejemplo, soluciones IoT, inteligencia artificial, movilidad inteligente y soluciones integradas de gestión de residuos. Los fundamentos comunes del impacto social son una herramienta poderosa para la formación de comunidades inteligentes, que pueden demostrar equidad y accesibilidad. Por lo tanto, existe la necesidad de espacios para los creadores de la comunidad que puedan ayudar a otros no solo a mantenerse al día con la tecnología y usarla de manera eficiente, sino también para conectarlos con nuevas comunidades y adaptar diferentes soluciones a diversas condiciones físicas.

Introduction: Hypothyroidism may have various cardiovascular manifestations due to morphological, functional and electrical alterations in the heart. The usual electrocardiographic findings being sinus bradycardia, low voltage complexes, and slowed intraventricular conduction. Hypothyroidism manifesting as polymorphic ventricular tachycardia has only been reported in a few case reports. Clinical case. A 60-year-old lady presented to us in the emergency department in an unresponsive and unconscious state and electrocardiogram showed a polymorphic ventricular tachycardia. After initial resuscitation with direct current cardioversion and supportive care, she found to have severe hypothyroidism and responded well to thyroid replacement therapy. Conclusion. Polymorphic ventricular tachycardia is a life threatening emergency that can have various etiologies. Polymorphic ventricular tachycardia secondary to primary hypothyroidism is a rare presentation but it is treatable and reversible with thyroid replacement therapy. In patients presenting with QT interval prolongation and ventricular tachycardia, hypothyroidism should be one of the differential diagnosis.

Introduction: Severe acute respiratory syndrome due to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has overwhelmingly affected the health-care systems globally. Delivering cardiovascular care has become unusually difficult both for caregivers and physicians in these unprecedented times. Methods: We briefly reviewed how cardiac care can be delivered to patients while limiting the exposure of both patients and healthcare workers through telemedicine services. We made a comparison at our institute of outpatient services through routine and telemedicine visits. Results: We found that telemedicine can be an equally effective alternative cardiac care during the times of pandemic with no significant difference in patients profile admitted through telemedicine services. Conclusions: We concluded that telemedicine can prove to be an effective tool in delivering cardiac care by limiting exposure of both patients and physicians with better triage of cardiac patients in the situation of COVID-19 pandemic and may complement to regular cardiac care in routine times.

Introduction: Morgagni hernia is a relatively uncommon anterior diaphragmatic defect, particularly in adults. We describe the case of a patient who presented with an incarcerated Morgagni hernia and was repaired by an Acute Care Surgery service. Description: The patient is a 29 year old male who presented with a picture of bowel obstruction. CT scan revealed a Morgagni hernia with incarcerated stomach and colon. He was taken to the operating room for robotic repair. The hernia was reduced. The defect measured 10 x 7cm, a composite mesh was interposed, and sutured in place. The patient was discharged on postoperative day 5 and has done well at 1 year follow up. Conclusion: Robotic surgery offer the chance to apply minimally invasive techniques for urgent surgical care. This is the first reported case of an incarcerated Morgagni hernia repaired urgently using robotic techniques, and performed by acute care surgeons.

In the Internet age, most of information is available on the Internet in the different formats which known as “Internet resources” and people use Internet information for their different purposes but it is very essential for every Internet user to evaluate the retrieved Internet resources before making their uses to accomplish the tasks. This paper presents a review of selected literature found on evaluation of Internet resources available in different format in LIS domain with the following objectivities (i) To know the literature available on the need of evaluation of Internet resources; (ii) To identify the availability of literature on evaluating Internet resources; (iii) To examine the various criteria suggested for evaluating different types Internet resources by authors. This study will assist to users in framing the evaluation criteria for resources exist in various formats on the Internet.
