In this paper we show the construction of a polynomial function of degree n: f(x) given previously a set of n points , which will be fixed points of the function. This study addresses the inverse problem in polynomial case; in the classical sense because it is a priori a function; and hence the study of the existence of fixed points is made. Furthermore the behavior of the fixed points is studied through the analysis of the stability from the use of a parameter.

Sean Ω un dominio suave y acotado en RN, hλ: Ω x [0,∞) → R una función Carathéodory, λ>0 un parámetro real y ϕ: RN → RN una función continua estrictamente monótona. En esta tesis estudiamos la existencia de soluciones positivas a problemas del tipo -div ϕ(Du) = hλ(x,u) en Ω, u=0 en ∂Ω, con tres clases de no linealidades hλ distintas. En primer lugar, estudiamos una generalización de la ecuación logística, considerando hλ(x,u) = λm(x)f(u) - n(x)g(u) con f,g,m,n ≥ 0. En este caso obtenemos resultados de existencia y unicidad mediante el método de sub y supersoluciones y argumentos de comparación. En segundo lugar, estudiamos el problema unidimensional con hλ(x,u) = λm(x)f(u) para m en L¹(Ω) cuya parte positiva es no nula y f una función no negativa. En este caso consideramos tanto el caso sublineal como superlineal de f con respecto a ϕ. Los resultados de existencia para esta no linealidad se obtuvieron usando el Teorema de punto fijo de Krasnosel'skiĭ. Por último, estudiamos un problema unidimensional del tipo cóncavo-convexo donde consideramos la no linealidad hλ(x,u) = λm(x)f(u)+n(x)g(u) con m,n ≥ 0. Aquí f,g son funciones no negativas. Combinando el método de sub y supersoluciones y el teorema de punto fijo de Krasnosel'skiĭ, demostramos la existencia de dos soluciones positivas distintas para λ≈0. Let Ω be a smooth bounded domain in RN, let hλ: Ω x [0,∞) → R be a Carathéodory, function, let λ>0 be a real parameter and let ϕ: RN → RN be a continuous and strictly monotone function. In this thesis we study the existence of positive solutions for problems of the form -div ϕ(Du) = hλ(x,u) in Ω, u=0 on ∂Ω with three different classes of nonlinearities. First, we study a generalization of the logistic equation, setting hλ(x,u) = λm(x)f(u) - n(x)g(u) with f,g,m,n ≥ 0. In this case we obtain existence and uniqueness results using the sub and supersolution method and comparison arguments. Second, we study the one-dimensional problem with hλ(x,u) = λm(x)f(u) for m in L¹(Ω) with nonzero positive part and f a nonnegative function. In this case we consider the sublinear and the superlinear cases of f with respect to ϕ. The existence results for this nonlinearities were obtained using the Krasnosel'skiĭ's fixed point Theorem. Finally, we study a one-dimensional problem of concave-convex type where we consider the nonlinearities hλ(x,u) = λm(x)f(u)+n(x)g(u) with m,n ≥ 0. Here f,g are nonnegative functions. Combining the sub and supersolution method and Krasnosel'skiĭ's fixed point Theorem, we demonstrate the existence of two different positive solutions for λ≈0. Fil: Milne, Leandro Agustín. The Yablo Paradox’ main interest lies on its prima facie non-circular character, which many have doubted, specially when formulated in an extension of the language of firstorder arithmetic. Particularly, Priest (1997) and Cook (2006, forthcoming) provided contentious arguments in favor of circularity. My aims in this note are (i) to show that the notion of circularity involved in the debate so far is defective, (ii) to provide a new sound and useful partial notion of circularity and (iii) to show there is a non-circular formulation of the list in an extension of the language of first-order arithmetic according to the new notion.

En este trabajo demostraremos que una condición simple en las aplicaciones contractivas o expansivas permite establecer resultados de puntos fijos y de puntos de coincidencias con respecto a las w-distancias en espacios uniformes. Estos generaliza recientes resultados de muchos autores. También mostraremos un intento de lograr la unificación del punto de vista de las contracciones y las expansiones. Abstract: In this work we prove that a simple condition on the function allows to establish results fixed and coincidence points for contractive or expansive maps with respect to a w-distance on uniform spaces. The implementation of the square root computation in an FPGA device is presented in this work. The calculation is not one of convergence type, so the accuracy is very high and there are no conditions or restrictions for the operation to be fulfilled. It also consumes much less hardware surface than other algorithms for calculating the square root of a number. The number entered is of fixed-point representation, it is parameterizable, that is, two constants N and M can define the size of the number, where N defines the number of bits in the integer part of the number and M defines the number of bits of the fractional part. En este trabajo se presenta la implementación de la raíz cuadrada de un número en un dispositivo FPGA. El algoritmo usado no es un algoritmo de convergencia, por tanto, la exactitud del cálculo es muy alta, además no existen restricciones de ningún tipo para que la operación sea llevada a cabo. El uso de hardware en la FPGA es mucho menor que el usado por otros algoritmos que también calculan la raíz cuadrada de un número. Para representar el número se usa la representación de punto fijo, para ello se usan dos parámetros, N y M, donde N define el número de bits que representan la parte entera y M define el número de bits de la parte fraccional. M y N son definidos en la síntesis del módulo.

Resumen La coinducción, un concepto dual a la inducción ha sido descubierto y estudiado recientemente. Una forma sencilla de entender su naturalidad es observando que este se refiere a los puntos fijos más grandes, mientras que la inducción se refiere a los mas pequeños. Inicialmente el soporte técnico de la coinducción estaba en la teoría de retículos a través de los puntos fijos más grandes, ahora dicho soporte se centra en el lenguaje de categorías a través de las F-coálgebras finales. Las F-coálgebras son un concepto dual a la generalización de F-álgebras para un funtor F. En el presente trabajo nos centraremos en un tipo muy particular de F-coálgebras: los autómatas de cadena para ilustrar el carácter coinductivo del análisis real a través de resultados clásicos como el teorema fundamental del cálculo, las series de Taylor y la solución de ciertas ecuaciones diferenciales. Abstract. Coinduction is a dual concept to induction; it has been discovered and studied recently. A simple way to understand its naturalness is noting that it refers to the largest fixed points, while induction refers to smallest fixed points. Originally the technical support of the coinduction was the lattices theory through the largest fixed points; now this support is in the language categories through the final F -coalgebras. The F -coalgebras is a dual concept of generalization to algebras for a functor F. In this paper we focus on a particular type of F-coalgebras: stream automata. Our aim will be to use the framework of stream automata to illustrate the coinductive character of real analysis through classical results as the fundamental theorem of calculus, Taylor series and the solution of certain differential equations.

10. A multidimensional dynamical approach to iterative methods with memory

[EN] A dynamical approach on the dynamics of iterative methods with memory for solving nonlinear equations is made. We have designed new methods with memory from Steffensen’ or Traub’s schemes, as well as from a parametric family of iterative procedures of third- and fourth-order of convergence. We study the local order of convergence of the new iterative methods with memory. We define each iterative method with memory as a discrete dynamical system and we analyze the stability of the fixed points of its rational operator associated on quadratic polynomials. As far as we know, there is no dynamical study on iterative methods with memory and the techniques of complex dynamics used in schemes without memory are not useful in this context. So, we adapt real multidimensional dynamical tools to afford this task. The dynamical behavior of Secant method and the versions of Steffensen’ and Traub’s schemes with memory, applied on quadratic polynomials, are analyzed. Different kinds of behavior occur, being in general very stable but pathologic cases as attracting strange fixed points are also found. Finally, a modified parametric family of order four, applied on quadratic polynomials, is also studied, showing the bifurcations diagrams and the appearance of chaos., This research was partially supported by Ministerio de Economia y Competitividad MTM2014-52016-C02-2-P.

In this paper we construct a family of spin Lie groups G with an outer automorphism of order three (triality automorphism) and we describe the subgroups of fixed points for this kind of automorphisms. We will take advantage of this work to study the action of the group of outer automorphisms of G on the moduli space of principal G-bundles and describe the subvariety of fixed points in M(G) for the action of the outer automorphism of order three of G. Finally, we further study the case of Spin(8, C). Resumen En este artículo construimos una familia de grupos de Lie espinoriales G dotados de un automorfismo externo de orden tres (trialidad) y describimos los subgrupos de puntos fijos para esta clase de automorfismos. Usaremos esto para estudiar la acción del grupo de automorfismos externos de G en el espacio de moduli de G-fibrados principales y describir la subvariedad de puntos fijos en M(G) para la acción del automorfismo externo de orden tres de G. Finalmente, profundizaremos en el estudio del caso Spin(8, C).

[EN] We analyze the complexity of an expoDC algorithm by deducing the existence of solution for the recurrence inequation associated to this algorithm by means of techniques of Denotational Semantics in the context of fuzzy quasi-metric spaces. The fuzzy quasi-metrics provide an additional parameter "t" such that a suitable use of this ingredient gives rise to extra information on the involved computational process. Under suitable conditions, we establish the existence of the greatest and the least fixed points of monotone maps defined on nonempty pseudo-ordered sets. Also, we prove that the set of all common fixed points of two categories of finite commutative family F of monotone maps f defined on a nonempty complete trellis is also a nonempty complete trellis.

We prove a fixed point theorem for cyclic orbital generalized contractions on complete metric spaces from which we deduce, among other results, generalized cyclic versions of the celebrated Boyd and Wong fixed point theorem, and Matkowski fixed point theorem. This is done by adapting to the cyclic framework a condition of Meir–Keeler type discussed in [Jachymski J., Equivalent conditions and the Meir–Keeler type theorems, J. Math. Anal. Appl., 1995, 194(1), 293–303]. The conchoid of a surface $F$ with respect to given fixed point $O$ is roughly speaking the surface obtained by increasing the radius function with respect to $O$ by a constant. This paper studies {\it conchoid surfaces of spheres} and shows that these surfaces admit rational parameterizations. Explicit parameterizations of these surfaces are constructed using the relations to pencils of quadrics in $\R^3$ and $\R^4$. Moreover we point to remarkable geometric properties of these surfaces and their construction.

In this short note we show that the results obtained by Walter in [4] remain valid if we change the metric σ by another metric. Furthermore, if we use the norm |\cdotbold|T,\epsilon given in [3], Theorem B in[4] remains valid. En esta breve nota se muestra que los resultados obtenidos por Walter en [4] siguen siendo válidos si se cambia la métrica σ por otra. Además, si se utiliza la norma |\cdotbold|T,\epsilon usada en [3], el Teorema B en [4] sigue siendo válido.

Se presentan resultados numéricos en dos dimensiones de flujos isotérmicos/térmicos de fluidos incompresibles y viscosos modelados matemáticamente por las ecuaciones de Navier-Stokes y por la aproximación de Boussinesq respectivamente en la formulación velocidad-vorticidad. Los flujos térmicos corresponden tanto a convección natural como a convección mixta. Los resultados se obtienen con un método simple el cual se basa en un proceso iterativo de punto fijo para resolver el sistema elíptico no lineal que resulta después de una discretización apropiada en el tiempo. El proceso iterativo lleva a la solución de problemas elípticos lineales, simétricos, bien condicionados y desacoplados para los cuales existen resolvedores eficientes sin importar la discretizacón espacial.

In this note we provide a set of parameters for the Teichmuller space, of genus g ≥ 2, given by fixed points of some special set of generators for the uniformizing Fuchsian groups. Explicit computations are given in low genus.

We introduce the notion independent increment in quasi-intervals. Some properties of the fixed points of these processes are studied, as well as those of the aditive descomposition. Finally, we establish the relation between this concept with the classical one and we deduce a property of the total variation of continuous-time processes. Se introduce la noción de procesos de incrementos independientes en casi intervalos. Son estudiadas ciertas propiedades de los puntos fijos de estos procesos así como las descomposiciones aditivas. Finalmente se establece la relación de este proceso con el clásico y se deduce una propiedad de la variación total de los procesos en tiempo continuo.
