Y, tras confrontarlo con textos de autores semipelagianos, propone entender la gracia en clave donal, no causal. Si la actividad de la gracia fuera causal, quedarian imposibilitadas la libertad y el merito; en cambio, ejercida segun el dar, incluye a ambos. Ni pelagianos ni semipelagianos entendieron esto; s. Agustin, empero, descubrio dicha donalidad: los meritos derivan, conjuntamente, de los dones divinos y de nuestra colaboracion con ellos. EnglishPhilosophy can clarify some human problems, which often darken the mysteries of Christian faith. In this piece of research, which is the first of a series of papers on this topic, the notion of giving is introduced and studied with the aid of a well-known Augustinian text about the Divine grace. After comparing it with other texts of Semipelagian authors, the paper proposes to understand the grace doctrine according to a logic of gift or donation, rejecting its causal interpretation – because if the grace activity is understood causally, freedom is impossible, and therefore merit. However, if the grace’s activity is conceived according to the activity of giving, then freedom is required – which makes room for merit or demerit. Neither Pelagians nor Semipelagians understood this. But St. Augustine discovered that grace is a donation, by which our merits are the joint outcome of God’s gifts and our collaboration with them.

Aportamos testimonios sobre la comadre Inés de Ayala e intentamos recrear la vida y el cosmos cultural de esta importante figura en la corte de Felipe IV; aspiramos a comprender las causas de la prosperidad de las comadres de élite del siglo XVII; sugerimos, finalmente, un análisis más profundo de las funciones sociológicas y psicológicas de una religiosidad obsesionada con el gesto ritual, el objeto mágicoreligioso y con la visión del futuro otorgada por la gracia divina. Testimonies about the court midwife Inés de Ayala contain many elements that we would now label as purely cultural or religious. We will gather and connect data about this well-known figure at the court of Philip IV; we will propose some possible causes for Inés de Ayala’s popularity and wealth; finally, we will try to inquire the sociological and psychological functions of religious practice which evolved around ritual gestures, magicalreligious objects and visions of the future granted to some women by through divine grace.

Este artículo parte de la hipótesis que el escritor suizo protestante Friedrich Dürrenmatt parodia, en forma creciente, el género policial clásico. Ante todo, la figura del detective, símbolo de la fe ilustrada y luego positivista en la inevitable victoria de la razón, sufre una creciente desconstrucción dado que su método, basado precisamente en la inteligencia humana, fracasa ante el predominio del azar, que irrumpe en la vida de los seres humanos en forma parecida que la gracia divina.

Reflexionamos sobre la gracia infinita de Dios, que se revela en la historia, en acciones a favor del hombre por el cariño y ternura que nos tiene Dios.
