The study aimed to determine the place, orientation, and effectiveness of stress on the built environment in the scientific literature. Bibliographic analyses were conducted by searching the Web of Science database, selecting all fields, and using the keywords “stress” and “built environment” together. Researchers examined 1,157 publications related to stress and built environment according to research fields, year of publication, language, country of publication, publication category, publication type, publication indexes, and published sources with the help of charts. The data related to architecture were also considered. Researchers ran bibliographic map analyses in VOSviewer 1.6.19 software and Biblioshiny-R Studio programs to provide visual richness and create quality maps. The bibliographic map analysis included network analysis (co-author, co-occurrence of author keywords, citation), thematic analysis, and trend topic analysis. As a result, “stress” of usage was most prominent in engineering sciences, studies in architecture were limited, and the country with the highest number of publications and citations on the subject was the USA. The quality of life, COVID-19, heat stress, and machine learning concepts were the most used keywords in recent years.

Cáncer rectal. Catéter. Tiempo de retirada del catéter. Cirugía pélvica. ,Surgery ,RD1-811 - Abstract

Since the treatability of Oriental spruce wood (Picea orientalis) with preservative solutions is difficult and considered as a refractory wood species, this study was intended to bring its treatability class by a bioincising process to the level of sapwood of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris), a desirable wood species for the forest products industry. Bioincising process by Physisporinus vitreus fungus was applied to wood samples from sapwood and heartwood portions of spruce wood. The samples with two different weight loss groups (5–10 % and 10–15 %) in the bioincising process were used to detect changes in treatability with wood preservative solutions caused by the fungus. The bioincised and unincised control samples were treated with either micronized copper quat (MCQ) or alkaline copper quat type D (ACQ-D) wood preservative solutions by either dipping or vacuum methods. Following impregnation with the preservative solutions, the effects of the bioincising process on CuO (copper oxide) retention, and the leaching of Cu (copper) element were determined. The results showed that CuO retention levels increased after the bioincising process. Moreover, there was greater CuO retention in the spruce heartwood samples compared to the spruce and Scots pine sapwood samples. Amount of Cu element released from the Scots pine sapwood samples was found to be lower than that from the spruce sapwood and heartwood samples after the bioincising. process. The results suggest that the bioincising process by P. vitreus in refractory wood species might improve the treatability of wood by Cu-based wood preservatives.

Abstract Background Thoracic paravertebral block can provide analgesia for unilateral chest surgery and is associated with a low complication rate. Horner syndrome also referred to as oculosympathetic paresis, is a classic neurologic constellation of ipsilateral blepharoptosis, pupillary miosis, and facial anhidrosis resulting from disruption of the sympathetic pathway supplying the head, eye, and neck. Case report We present a patient with an ipsilateral transient Horner syndrome after ultrasound guided single shot of 15 mL 0.25% levobupivacaine for thoracic paravertebral block at T5–6 level. Conclusions It should be kept in mind that even a successful ultrasound guided single shot thoracic paravertebral block can be complicated with Horner syndrome due to unpredictable distribution of the local anesthetic.

aseptic meningitis ,children ,Behçet’s syndrome - Abstract
PubMed: 31758902, Behçet’s disease (BD) is a rare systemic vasculitis disorder of unknown etiology characterized by recurrent oral and genital apthae and uveitis. It involves the central or peripheral nervous system; occurs rarely during childhood. Isolated acute aseptic meningitis is extremely uncommon. We report here a case of Neuro-Behçet disease (NBD) diagnosed in a 14-year-old girl. The patient presented acute headache, diplopia, papilla edema, and meningeal irritation. She had a history of recurrent oral ulcers. Brain magnetic resonance imaging revealed pachymeningitis. Pleocytosis and pressure increase were the cerebrospinal fluid findings. Although medical therapy, her complaints were not resolved. Uveitis was not detected, pathergy test was negative. HLA-B51 allele was positive. The findings were considered to unusual NBD. The patient improved dramatically after steroid therapy. BD should be considered in differential diagnosis of meningitis unless an infectious agent is demonstrated. To our knowledge, a case of pachymeningitis with NBD, was not described in children.

Abstract Aim: To evaluate the effects of three different doses of gabapentin pretreatment on the incidence and severity of myoclonic movements linked to etomidate injection. Method: One hundered patients, between 18 and 60 years of age and risk category American Society of Anesthesiologists I-II, with planned elective surgery under general anesthetic were included in the study. The patients were randomly divided into four groups and 2 h before the operation were given oral capsules of placebo (Group P, n = 25), 400 mg gabapentin (Group G400, n = 25), 800 mg gabapentin (Group G800, n = 25) or 1200 mg gabapentin (Group G1200, n = 25). Side effects before the operation were recorded. After preoxygenation for anesthesia induction 0.3 mg kg−1 etomidate was administered for 10 s. A single anesthetist with no knowledge of the study medication evaluated sedation and myoclonic movements on a scale between 0 and 3. Two minutes after induction, 2 µg kg−1 fentanyl and 0.8 mg kg−1 rocuronium were administered for tracheal intubation. Results: Demographic data were similar. Incidence and severity of myoclonus in Group G1200 and Group G800 were significantly lower than in Group P; sedation incidence and level were appreciably higher compared to Group P and Group G400. While there was no difference in the incidence of myoclonus between Group P and Group G400, the severity of myoclonus in Group G400 was lower than in the placebo group. In the two-hour period before induction other than sedation none of the side effects related to gabapentin were observed in any patient. Conclusion: Pretreatment with 800 mg and 1200 mg gabapentin 2 h before the operation increased the level of sedation and reduced the incidence and severity of myoclonic movements due to etomidate.

Abstract Background: It was aimed to investigate the relationship between preoperative anxiety and vasovagal symptoms observed during the administration of spinal anesthesia in patients undergoing surgery in the perianal and inguinal regions. Methods: The study included patients with planned surgery for inguinal hernia repair, anal fissure, hemorrhoid and pilonidal sinus excision. The study included a total of 210 patients of ASA I-II, aged 18-65 years. Patients were evaluated in respect of demographic characteristics, smoking and alcohol consumption, ASA grade and educational level. Correlations were evaluated between the number of attempts at spinal anesthesia and anesthesia history with vasovagal symptoms and educational level, gender, smoking and alcohol consumption and anesthesia history with anxiety scores. The instant (transient) state anxiety inventory part of the Transient State/Trait Anxiety Inventory (State Trait Anxiety Inventory - STAI) was used to determine the anxiety levels of the participants. Clinical findings of peripheral vasodilation, hypotension, bradycardia and asystole observed during the administration of spinal anesthesia were recorded. Results: Vasovagal incidences during the administration of spinal anesthesia were seen to increase in cases of high anxiety score, male gender, and an absence of anesthesia history. Educational level and the number of spinal needle punctures were not found to have any effect on vasovagal incidents. Conclusion: The determination of causes triggering vasovagal incidents seen during the application of spinal anesthesia, better patient information of regional anesthesia implementations and anxiety relief with preoperative anxiolytic treatment will help to eliminate potential vasovagal incidents.

The study was carried to investigate the effect of myo–inositol supplementation on feed physicochemical structure and viral load of dry cat food contaminated with inactive SARS–CoV–2 by simulating sneezing. The most natural infection of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS–CoV–2) in animals is related to close contact with their owners with COVID–19 which is handling, taking care and feeding them. SARS–CoV–2 can survive on food, fomites and surfaces for extended periods related to environmental conditions. Many natural feed additives and supplements have been a candidate in recent antiviral treatment strategies against COVID–19. In this study, myo–inositol which is permitted in animal nutrition was used at different concentrations (0, 12.5, 25 and 50 mg·100 g-1 cat food) and conditions (22°C at room temperature and 4°C in the refrigerator) to investigate its effects on feed physicochemical structure and viral load of dry cat food contaminated with inactive SARS–CoV–2 by simulating sneezing. For the interactions between myo–inositol, feed structure and viral load, dry matter, moisture, water absorption index (WAI), water solubility index (WSI), pH and virus gene copy (GC) by RT–qPCR were measured. As only storage temperature affected both WAI and WSI as expected, myo–inostol supplementation dose–dependently decreased gene copy in dry cat food (IC50:366.4–581.5 mg·100 g-1 cat food) at 22°C storage temperature. Virus GC did not correlate with the dry matter, moisture content, pH and WAI after the 30 min contact time (except WSI). In conclusion, myo–inositol as a feed additive might have the potential to control serious viral infections such as COVID–19 for human–animal interactions in a One–Health context.

The aim of this study was to carry out the morphological characterization of the Tabby cat’s hard palate by light and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), in addition to gross and morphometric analysis. A total of 20 Tabby cat heads used. The materials was provided from the Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Street Animals Temporary Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, Balıkesir, Turkey. Adult, regardless of gender difference, died from variety of reasons and 20 Tabby cat cadavers which weigh approximately 3–4 kg were brought to the laboratory in accordance with the procedure. Hard palates were subjected to gross examination, morphometric analysis, light and SEM.The Tabby cats hard palate was split up rostral and caudal parts and incisive papilla (papilla incisive), rugae palatine and with a gutter between them, the presence of palatine raphe and secondary rugae palatine were observed. The rostral and caudal parts of the hard palate were determined to have a smooth appearance with SEM 540X magnification and the presence of epithelial desquamations was found out. It was determined that the rostral and caudal part of the Tabby cat’s hard palate had a honeycomb appearance of the microplicae of the 3000X magnification hard palate epithelium with SEM. Round islets were detected with the SEM at the magnification of 600X of the incisive papilla, the 270X of the rostral–caudal parts and the 44X of the gutter between the palatine rugae. These adaptations of the Tabby cat’s hard palate might increase its efficiency during ingestion and mastication of hard food and in directing the food backward. The study shows the detailed anatomical description of the hard palate of the Tabby cat with light and SEM.

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a highly heterogeneous disease. Although patients can be classified into risk groups based on their genetic changes, the prognosis of disease within these categories varies widely. This situation raises the need to search for new molecular markers related to AML. Serine peptidase inhibitor Kazal type 2 (SPINK2) has recently been reported to be upregulated in AML and associated with poor outcomes by meta-analysis and in a limited number of AML patients.

Objective. This study was conducted retrospectively to assess the cystic echinococcosis status of farm animals from the samples sent to Samsun Veterinary Control Institute of the Republic of Türkiye, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, between January 2016 and December 2022. Materials and Methods. A total of 818 sheep, 160 goats, and 990 cattle necropsy materials were examined macroscopically and histopathologically according to World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) guidelines. Cysts were detected in 61 of examined materials. Results. The rate of total cystic echinococcosis positivity in farm animals was found to be 3.1% in northern Türkiye. Cysts were detected in at least one of the liver and lungs. It was detected in the liver in 24 cases (39.3%), the lung in 23 cases (37.7%), and both the lung and liver in 11 cases (18%). In addition, cysts were found in both of lung and spleen (1 case), kidney and liver (1 case), and heart and liver (1 case). The positivity rate was higher in sheep than in other ruminants, and the difference with other ruminant species was statistically significant. (p

Ethnology. Social and cultural anthropology ,GN301-674 - Abstract
This article examines the current politico-economic developments in Turkey through the lens of the effects of the Syrian war. The empirical focus of my discussion is an export city bordering Syria, Gaziantep. The city has been radically shaped by not only the migration waves from Syria in the wake of the Syrian war but also the broader re/structuring effects of the Iraqi war and a low-intensity war in the last 30 years. In Turkey, wars have always been essential reference points for local and national economic agents to build different nation-framed economic discourses. In the last decade, we observe a new form of economic nationalism that is expansionist and outward-oriented – contrary to discussions associating the term with inward-oriented economic policies. Turkey’s assumed role in the reconstitution of the Syrian economy and its aspired position in the Middle East as a political and economic center constitutes a crucial symbolic horizon in this nationalist economic discourse. By comparing this new expansionist economic nationalism with other dominant forms, the article concludes that economic nationalisms of the political center resonate strongly in local economies. They re/define not only the desirable migrant but also economic subjects, in general, creating novel sources of accumulation and dispossession.

This study examines how ethical leadership influences school effectiveness via the mediating role of affective commitment and job satisfaction. For this purpose, 306 teachers completed measures of ethical leadership, affective commitment, job satisfaction, and school effectiveness. The results supported the hypothesized positive links of ethical leadership to affective commitment, job satisfaction, and school effectiveness. The results also revealed that work attitudes (i.e., affective commitment and job satisfaction) partially mediated the relationship between ethical leadership and school effectiveness, indicating both direct and indirect effects of ethical leadership on school effectiveness. In light of these findings, a number of recommendations were given for further research, specifically regarding school administrative research and applications.

Combining images and words when relating to a city has a long history; in Istanbul’s case, it has its roots in the Orientalist tradition and in the great journeys to the “East.” For the Istanbul of the twenty-first century, the most renowned combination of photography and literature is Orhan Pamuk’s Istanbul: Memories and the City (2003), a portrait of the writer as a young artist accompanied with black-and-white photographs of Istanbul. Pamuk’s use of the photographs of Ara Güler draws from the tradition of travel writing and autobiography, documenting both the lost city and, conversely, endowing the melancholy of the narrative with a reality effect that is difficult to trace in writing. This paper discusses Pamuk’s use of photography in the memoir to address how his work supplies a heterogeneous archive of memories which both preserves and transforms the entangled pasts and presents of the city.

The object of this work is to analyze the main problems encountered by the Turkish students while learning Spanish. The main purpose is to investigate the problems met while learning the tenses, to bring solutions departing from the mistakes made and to explain the tenses, and especially the past continuous and simple past tenses, using different methods, taking into consideration where the students live and the level of education they possess. Two different methods are applied in this work: firstly the students redacted a write up using the past tenses; secondly filled in the blanks in a given text with the suitable past tenses. As a result of the applied methods the comparative analysis and error analysis methods are taken as a basis and the process of learning a second language and the effects of the mother tongue or of another language spoken on the second language are investigated 76
