Abstract

Twitter social network contains a large amount of information generated by its users. That information is composed of opinions and comments that may reflect trends in social behavior. There is talk of trend when it is possible to identify opinions and comments geared towards the same shared by a lot of people direction. To determine if two or more written opinions share the same address, techniques Natural Language Processing (NLP) are used. This paper proposes a methodology for predicting reflected in Twitter from the use of sentiment analysis functions NLP based on social behaviors. The case study was selected the 2015 Presidential in Argentina, and a software architecture Big Data composed Vertica data base with the component called Pulse was used. Through the analysis it was possible to detect trends in voting intentions with regard to the presidential candidates, achieving greater accuracy in predicting that achieved with traditional systems surveys., Comment: in Spanish. Abstract

El presente proyecto se realizó sobre la empresa XYZ, particularmente en la división dedicada a la elaboración de papel absorbente, sobre la cual se identificó la existencia de problemas internos principalmente relacionados con la falta de estandarización y disciplina para llevar a cabo las actividades internas de forma organizada y ordenada, aspectos que incidieron de manera negativa sobre la productividad de la empresa. En este caso, se determinó como objetivo general el diseñar una propuesta de mejora mediante la aplicación de la metodología 5S en la empresa XYZ dedicada a la fabricación de papel absorbente en la ciudad de Guayaquil. Se trabajó con un enfoque de investigación mixto y un estudio de tipo descriptivo, lo que permitió recabar la información necesaria respecto a la forma en que se llevan a cabo los procesos a nivel interno en el área de producción de la empresa XYZ y las acciones que llevan a cabo el personal. Así mismo, como eje central del proyecto se trabajó con la metodología 5S, la cual consistió en la aplicación de una serie de procedimientos orientados a alcanzar un estado organizacional adecuado a partir de las dimensiones relacionadas con la organización, el orden, la limpieza, la estandarización y la disciplina; las cuales a su vez aportaron con la mejora del área seleccionada. Como instrumentos para el levantamiento de la información se trabajó con la encuesta dirigida al personal y la observación ejecutada mediante la aplicación de una lista de cotejo. Los resultados obtenidos evidenciaron que el nivel de cumplimiento de los parámetros basados en las 5S en la empresa XYZ es del 26%, además no se habían implementado medidas para garantizar la estandarización de los procesos y para promover la disciplina en el personal, aun cuando se detectaron falencias a nivel de orden y organización. Con base a los hallazgos encontrados se diseñó la propuesta y un plan de capacitación dirigido al personal. The present project was carried out on the company XYZ, particularly in the division dedicated to the production of absorbent paper, on which the existence of internal problems was identified, mainly related to the lack of standardization and discipline to carry out internal activities in an appropriate way organized and orderly, aspects that had a negative impact on the productivity of the company. In this case, the general objective was determined to design a proposal for improvement through the application of the 5S methodology in the XYZ company dedicated to the manufacture of absorbent paper in the city of Guayaquil. We worked with a mixed research approach and a descriptive study, which allowed us to collect the necessary information regarding the way in which the processes are carried out internally in the production area of the XYZ company and the actions that they carry out the staff. Likewise, as the central axis of the project, the 5S methodology was used, which consisted of the application of a series of procedures aimed at achieving an adequate organizational state based on the dimensions related to organization, order, cleanliness, standardization and discipline; which in turn contributed with the improvement of the selected area. As instruments for gathering information, we worked with the survey addressed to the staff and the observation carried out through the application of a checklist. Based on the findings found, the proposal and a training plan for staff were designed.

figuras, tablas Los servicios ambientales (SE) son los procesos y funciones de los ecosistemas que proporcionan, generan, utilidades a la humanidad, en muchos casos estos beneficios pasan desapercibidos por desconocimiento o por su no cuantificación material, la quebrada Olivares – Minitas, ubicada en el municipio de Manizales (Colombia), proporciona de agua para consumo humano a un porcentaje importante de la ciudad; sin embargo, ha presentado diferentes presiones de tipo antrópico que han desmejorado aspectos como la calidad y cantidad de agua por la pérdida de vegetación riparia, biodiversidad asociada, entre otros. Aspectos que originan una necesidad en el direccionamiento del ordenamiento territorial de esta microcuenca para una adecuada toma de decisiones. La valoración económica realizada en el presente trabajo evaluó económicamente los SE de provisión de agua dulce, producción de materias primas y el de recreación y ecoturismo, estimándose el valor económico de los SE en $ 13’544.009.062. Environmental services (ES) are the processes and functions of ecosystems that provide, generate, utilities to humanity, in many cases these benefits go unnoticed due to ignorance or due to their lack of material quantification, the Olivares - Minitas stream, located in the municipality of Manizales (Colombia), provides water for human consumption to a significant percentage of the city, however, it has presented different anthropic pressures that have deteriorated aspects such as the quality and quantity of water, riparian vegetation, loss of associated biodiversity, among others. Aspects that originate a need in directing the territorial ordering of this micro-basin for adequate decision-making. The economic valuation carried out in this work economically evaluated the SE of fresh water supply, production of raw materials and that of recreation and ecotourism, estimating the economic value of the SE at $ 13,544,009,062. Abstract

Este artículo es el resultado de un estudio de casos sobre comportamiento electoral. Se indagó sobre la condición sociodemográfica más influyente para los jóvenes universitarios de la ciudad de Palmira, Valle del Cauca. El análisis se realizó dentro de las premisas y variables del modelo sociológico de estudios comportamentales. Para el análisis, se tomaron como insumo las fuentes bibliográficas que se refieren al tema y la información recopilada, a través de entrevistas a profundidad, de 13 sujetos entre 19 y 23 años, quienes participaron voluntariamente del ejercicio académico. Se encontró que la condición sociodemográfica que más influyó sobre esta población en particular fue la formación académica, seguida de su capital social, incluso por encima de la influencia de las relaciones familiares y otras variables. Los resultados de este estudio y las conclusiones de este artículo están sujetas a las características propias de los participantes.

9. The Challenge of Transcultural Diversities

Abstract

The economic and social dynamics of globalisation have brought with them a new kind of migration movement that can no longer be approached within the traditional framework of the Nation-State and its limits. Starting from the idea of the importance of transcultural diversity as a democratic social resource that should be emphasised and preserved through cultural political intervention, the author of the article stresses the need for a change of paradigm in drafting cultural policies. The case of Europe is a clear example of the process of complexisation and diversification of this transnational space and of the need for the continuation of the process of Europeisation for some kind of accommodation between national and cosmopolitan principles. In this way, the author –basing his argument on reports from the Council of Europe– calls for a transnational cultural policy to defend transcultural diversity; a policy in which the Council will have to play a key role.

Desde los inicios de la humanidad el cabello ha tenido una importancia trascendental desde el punto de vista religioso, racial, sexual y ornamental. En los seres humanos el pelo es un vestigio evolutivo, a diferencia de otros seres vivos, que cumple funciones de protección y regulación de la temperatura. El número de pelos que se desprenden normalmente es de aproximadamente 100 por día y esta tasa aumenta al final del verano y principios de otoño, quizás debido a efectos de la mayor radiación solar y temperatura. La alopecia es la pérdida anormal del cabello, resultado de un proceso patológico. Las causas de alopecia son diversas y representan un desafío tanto para el médico como para el paciente. El objetivo de esta revisión es profundizar en la fisiopatología del cabello, las causas de alopecia y su tratamiento.

14. Transnational guest workers in the 21st century: Gender and the agro-industry in southern Europe

Abstract

This article analyses the contested interconnections between global structures and the living and working conditions of female temporary migrant workers by exploring the transnational condition as a means of understanding intensive and insecure post-Fordist work in late global capitalism, particularly in southern Europe. Building on existing research of migrant work experiences in the agro-business industry, the main part of the article considers three ethnographic questions: What is the impact of the transnational economy on these guest workers’ lives? How does this concept relate to the working lives of women? And how can we understand the impact of intermediaries and global elites in such transnational practices? We employ the concept of transnational space applied to southern Europe alongside notions of “mobility strategies” to advance sociological inquiry into the intersections between different fieldworks – in Andalusia and the Meknes province in Morocco – and the conceptual debate concerning women’s lives and experiences in transnational migration. In this guest worker model, workers who live in one country and work seasonally in another typically come from rural areas and reside abroad in barracks-style accommodations with fellow citizens. What are the challenges for women involved in such a model in terms of recruitment, transportation, work, leisure and return to origin? What space is left for social justice?

La biotecnología ha hecho posible el desarrollo de híbridos de maíz que están protegidos de insectos lepidópteros barrenadores, mediante la introducción de la secuencia codificante para la proteína Cry1Ab , derivada de Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt). Estos híbridos se cultivan en diferentes países a partir de 1998, con una adopción que ha llegado al 14% (11.2 millones de hectáreas) del área global en 2004 (ISAAA).Existe evidencia de un beneficio adicional derivado de esta tecnología, en cuanto a la reducción de micotoxinas observada en el grano de estos maíces, atribuída al menor daño provocado por los insectos, considerado una vía de entrada para Fusarium, responsable de la síntesis de fumonisinas. Para este estudio, se llevaron a cabo ensayos de campo en los EEUU, Francia, Argentina y Turquía.Las muestras de granos tomadas fueron sometidas a análisis de micotoxinas en diferentes laboratorios especializados. LATU fue elegido para procesar y analizar las muestras provenientes de ensayos realizados en Argentina.Los ensayos promediados de los EEUU mostraron una reducción del 46% respecto de los controles no transgénicos. En Argentina, se observaron reducciones de hasta un 60% . En Francia y Turquía también se mantuvo la tendencia observada, con niveles hasta 7 veces menores en los maíces Bt respecto de los híbridos convencionales. La reducción en los niveles de fumonisinas al conseguir un grano sano tiene implicancias para la salud en países productores de maíz con problemas de micotoxinas, y en los cuales el maíz representa una fuente de proteínas importante en la dieta.

In Memory: A Self-Referential Account, Fernández offers a functionalist account of the metaphysics of memory, which is portrayed as presenting significant advantages over causal and narrative theories of memory. In this paper, I present a series of challenges for Fernández’s functionalism. There are issues with both the particulars of the account and the use of functionalism more generally. First, in characterizing the mnemonic role of episodic remembering, Fernández fails to make clear how the mental image type that plays this role should be identified. Second, I argue that a functionalist approach, which appeals to the overall structure of the memory system and tendencies of mental state types, is ill-suited to the metaphysical question about episodic remembering that is of interest to the causal and narrative theorists with which Fernandez engages. Fernández’s self-referential account of memory has many other virtues, but functionalism is a poor fit for episodic remembering.

20. Europe of complexity: another way of telling

Abstract

This article explores issues relating to the new diversity and complexity within European culture, and seeks to do so with reference to contemporary debates on cosmopolitanism. A central argument is that the “mainstream” social science remains inadequate, in that it deals with the issues in an abstract and formulaic way – touching no-one. The article argues for a more concrete and substantive (and even poetic) approach to the cosmopolitan agenda, putting forward suggestions as to relevant alternative discourses –discourses that have been marginalised in and through the historical elaboration of what has become the hegemonic version of European culture and tradition. There is an exploration of such (seemingly obsolete, and maybe eccentric) terms as “wonder” and “metamorphosis”, and of the communicative significance of metaphorical thinking. The point in addressing the contemporary European cultural dilemma, it is argued, is to develop an evocative, and thereby more effectively meaningful and communicative discourse of cosmopolitanism –another way of telling.

This sexual politics was not simply the background to the "real" politics of the leadership succession battle between pro-Mbeki and pro-Zuma factions. The rise of sexual politics after apartheid, this paper argues, has largely been due to the politicization of sexuality and masculinity in response to HIV/AIDS. Section two examines the ways in which ideas about "traditional" Zulu masculinity were represented and performed in the Zuma trial, introducing the tension between universalistic sexual rights and particularistic sexual cultures. The third section of the paper is concerned with innovative attempts by a group of young men in Cape Town to create "alternative masculinities" (Connell, 1996) in a time of HIV and AIDS.Este artigo encontra-se dividido em três partes: a primeira enfoca a contestada natureza da política sexual que esteve no entorno do julgamento do estupro cometido por Jacob Zuma. Essa política sexual não foi simplesmente a sustentação da "verdadeira" política da luta pela sucessão na liderança das facções pró-Mbeki e pró-Zuma. Este artigo argumenta que o aumento das políticas sexuais depois do apartheid deve-se amplamente à politização da sexualidade e masculinidade em resposta ao HIV e à Aids; a segunda parte examina as formas pelas quais as idéias sobre masculinidade zulu tradicional foram representadas e demonstradas no julgamento de Zuma, apresentando a tensão entre os direitos sexuais universais e as culturas sexuais particulares; a terceira parte preocupa-se com as tentativas inovadoras por parte de grupos de homens jovens na Cidade do Cabo de criar "masculinidades alternativas" (Connel, 1996) nos tempos de HIV e Aids.

Emulsions are liquid-liquid mixtures with one liquid contained as droplets within the other. The droplets are typically 1mm in diameter, and the properties of the emulsions are very dependent on the droplet structure, which is stabilised by surface-active emulsifier molecules. Most food emulsions are made from the raw ingredients using an homogenisation process to form small droplets. The paper describes methods of measuring droplet size and emulsion stability, and discusses the physical origin of emulsion texture, flavour and appearance.

25. Affording a Place: The Role of Persistent Structures in Social Navigation

Abstract

Social navigation refers to the way people use the activities of others to direct their own behaviour. Using social navigation as a theoretical framework, it is possible to study and evaluate the patterned behaviour of occupants in cyberspace. It is proposed that an analysis of the type and extent of social navigation occurring in a collaborative virtual environment provides evidence that the environment houses a community. This paper reports findings from an ethnographic study of a distance education programme where three types of social navigation take place: guided behaviours, awareness behaviours and approbation behaviours. Also identified are the persistent structures in the environment that afford social navigation. A discussion of social navigation can inform researchers, designers and occupants of collaborative virtual environments.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the influence of a general dynamic coordination program for the development of motor skills in children aged 6-11 years with mild cognitive impairment who attend the classroom support the school Antonio Nariño of Calarca. It was attended by 10 students between 6 and 11 years old, students in primary grades. A pre-test to assess in principle the overall dynamic coordination and the key elements of the motor in order to implement the program and determine the influence, collecting the final data after the relevant test for correlations were performed. The results obtained were determined with test ozeretski - Guilmain where was evident that the students showed an improvement in the processes evaluated in pretest. According to the results, the CDG DCL program caused significant motor skills in learners changes, physical education classes containing diverse dynamics related to overall coordination and carried out with a minimum of four hours per week elements contribute for the development of motor skills in children of 6-11 years of age with mild cognitive impairment who attend the classroom support the Educational Institution Antonio Nariño of Calarca., Este estudio tuvo como finalidad, Determinar la influencia de un programa de coordinación dinámica general para el desarrollo de la psicomotricidad en niños de 6 a 11 años de edad con discapacidad cognitiva leve que asisten al aula de apoyo de la institución educativa Antonio Nariño de Calarcá. Se contó con La participación de 10 educandos entre 6 y 11 años de edad, estudiantes de los grados de primaria. Se realizó un pre test para evaluar en principio la coordinación dinámica general y los elementos fundamentales de la motricidad, para así aplicar el programa y determinar la influencia, recolectando datos finales con el pos test para realizar las correlaciones pertinentes. Los resultados arrojados, se determinaron con el test de ozeretski - guilmain, donde se pudo evidenciar, que los educandos presentaron un avance en los procesos evaluados con el test. Según los resultados obtenidos, el programa CDG DCL causo cambios en la psicomotricidad de los educandos tras realizar una comparación del promedio general del pre test con una valoración sobresaliente y el promedio general del post test con una valoración excelente. Las clases de educación física que contengan diversidad de elementos relacionados con la coordinación dinámica general y que se realicen con una frecuencia mínima de cuatro horas por semana, contribuyen para el desarrollo de la psicomotricidad en niños de 6 a 11 años de edad con discapacidad cognitiva leve que asisten al aula de apoyo de la Institución educativa Antonio Nariño de Calarcá., Tabla de Contenido 1.
