The premise of the existence of artificial languages is the intention of their creators. Given that language presupposes culture as a certain type of systematic relationship of a community to the objective world, and that idioms are translators of culture, it should be assumed that even in artificial languages we can encounter idioms as units that additionally cohere the existence of the artificial culture. Therefore, in this paper, we will talk about the artlang of Herbert's novels and it will be shown that we must speak of a special type of artlang, which in this paper we call idiolang, since idioms appear as the most common part of the Dune language. They are a result of the writer's focus on culture. Idioms serve as reliable indicators of the authentical fictional culture and signs of social coordination.

This paper deals with the characteristic of idioms that were first published in Behar. Namely, the magazine Behar was first published in the period 1900–1910 and its five numbers contain a section that paid special attention to so-called “folk phraseology”. This part of the journal was initially called “From Folk Phraseology”, and later they renamed it “Folk Phraseology”. Phraseology as a linguistic discipline was established after Vinogradov’s papers written in the 1940s. However, on a global level, interest in the idioms has always been a part of interest shown by writers, so it is not uncommon that first phraseographic works were started by them. Such is the case with Bosnian phraseology. This paper shows the basic features of “folk phraseology” published in Behar and points out the correlation between passive lexical units and the “age” of idioms, which could be one of the signs of social change.

Linguistic relativism originally comes from anthropology and linguistics. However, most ofthe interpretations of linguistic relativism has come a long way considering the beginning ofthe 20th century – when it was established. One of the reasons for that lies in itsinterdisciplinary potential. In various arts, we find many applications of the philosophy oflinguistic relativism. In this paper, we write about the application of the Sapir–Whorfhypothesis in the American movie Arrival (2016) and the novel from Bosnian writer EnesKarić named Boje višnje (2016).

It has been twenty years since the very first theoretical book in the phraseology of the Bosnian language. Many papers have been written since then – and they show high interest in the treasure of the Bosnian language and the linguistic discipline of phraseology itself. Most of the papers have contrastive analysis At the core of the research, therefore they contribute to contrastive phraseology of the Bosnian language. There is a significant number of papers that apply modern methods of cognitive linguistic approach. However, this paper analyzes the phraseology practices of dictionaries created in the period after Frazeologija bosanskoga jezika by Ilijas Tanović was published in 2000. We would like the discover the very own mosaic of twenty years old phraseology development in the Bosnian language. This paper tries to preserve the memory of the most important book in Bosnian phraseology, which begins serious scientific phraseology work in recent Bosnian history. Namely, Frazeologija bosanskoga jezika (2000) itself contains a very important list of idioms. This paper analyzes dictionaries that have been announced as “phraseological”. It also analyzes dictionaries categorized as “Bosnian” according to Gramatika bosanskoga jezika (2000). Also, this paper will examine studies that also contain dictionaries of idioms and books with dictionaries that are very much involved in general topics of phraseology.
