Placer gold was mined in Primorye long before the arrival of the first Russian explorers from the time of the Bohai kingdom (VIII-X centuries). The centuries-old exploitation of precious metal deposits led to the depletion of their geological reserves, which could not but affect the sharp decline in production volumes. At the same time, there are good reasons to believe that the gold potential of the region is far from being exhausted. We need new approaches to forecasting, prospecting and developing sources of mineral resources. These alternative sources include complex ore-placer occurrences of strategic metals, in which gold is an associated component. For a long time, the strategic metals include solid types of minerals that are essential for national security. Many of them (titanium, platinum group metals, rare and rare earth elements) are present in ores and placers associated with basic and hyperbasites of Primorye. An example of this is the gold-ilmenite placers of the Ariadne massif of ultramafic rocks. The objective of this research was to assess the possibilities of industrial processing of these placers using pyro-hydrometallurgy methods. For this, the foundations of an integrated technology for extracting useful components were developed. At the initial stage, the initial sands underwent gravity concentration followed by separation by electromagnetic separation into magnetic and non-magnetic fractions. Then titanium dioxide was extracted from the magnetic material represented by ilmenite using the sulfate method. At the final stage, the non-magnetic fraction, including the bulk of the gold, served as the feedstock for the action of the leaching solutions. The proposed technical solutions will expand the prospects for the mineral resource base in the south of the Far Eastern region in compliance with the principles of rational nature management and environmental protection.

The mineralogical and petrogeochemical features of the Neoproterozoic kimberlite rocks of the Lahtojoki and Niilonsuo pipes of the Kaavi cluster (Kaavi-Kuopio, Finland) have been studied, differences in their petrogeochemical composition, quantitative and chemical composition of oxide minerals of deep (mantle) and kimberlite genesis have been revealed. The kimberlites of the pipes are moderately titanic, but the TiO2 content in the kimberlites of Niilonsuo is higher (2.11 wt.%) than in the kimberlites from the breccia of the Lahtojoki pipe (1.07 wt.%). The kimberlites of the Niilonsuo pipe also differ in higher concentrations of Fe2 O3 , Ca, P, K, Rb, V, Nb, Ba, Th, U, Ta and REE. In the Lahtojoki kimberlite breccias the main TiO2 concentrator mineral is magnesian ilmenite (13,3—15,2 wt.% MgO; 0,5—4,4 wt.% Cr2 O3 ), (macrocrysts up to 4 mm); the fine-grained matrix of rocks contains small grains of rutile, chromespinelides, Mn-ilmenite and sometimes titanomagnetite. Macrocrystals of magnesian ilmenite have been not found in the kimberlites of the Niilonsuo pipe, perovskite acts as the main mineral of titanium, and chromespinelids and titanomagnetite are less common. Long-term crystallization of relatively large (up to 200 μm) perovskite grains proceeded according to estimates using an Nb-Fe-perovskite oxybarometer under a wide range of oxygen fugacity (fо2 ) of the kimberlite melt (NNO from -3,8 to 5,1). Chromespinelids from the groundmass of kimberlite pipe rocks differ in composition, but have the same specific zonality — enrichment of Al and Mg in the edge zones of crystals, which is possibly due to the dissolution of phlogopite phenocrysts in the rising kimberlite melt. In addition to oxide minerals, djerfisherite is widely distributed in the groundmass of kimberlites of the Niilonsuo pipe, the composition of which for the rocks of the body has been described for the first time. The combination of features of oxide mineralization indicates unfavorable conditions for the preservation of diamonds during their transportation by kimberlite melt.

Four magnetic fractions of small classes concentrates (0,05—0,125 mm) of a representative technological sample have been separated from titanium-bearing medium thickness sandstones of Malorucheysky unit (Pizhemsky titanium deposit). They have been studied: general sample (T-2) and three partial (T-l a, b, c) ones obtained by gravitational separation in heavy liquid in three density intervals (3,3—3,5; 3,5—3,7; 3,7—3,9 g/cm3). It has been demonstrated that the magnetic fraction of the small productive classes consists mainly of pseudorutil, ilmenite, siderite (ironstone) and garnet. The phase composition of iron-titanium phases has been reliably established by the means of normative recalculation of chemical analysis data, as well as methods of Mossbauer spectroscopy, infrared (IR) absorption and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). The ratio of the pseudorutile, ilmenite, siderite and associated rare earth minerals monazite-kularite and zircon accumulated in the respective gravity classes, has been computed . It has been recommended to use the methods of recovery of the concentrates (extraction of zircon and monazite) before the operation of desilication, as well as their purification from siderite.

Предложен новый способ переработки ильменита для получения диоксида титана, основными стадиями которого являются: механическая активация, выщелачивание, экстракция, гидролиз и обжиг. Исследовано влияние основных технологических параметров. Установлены оптимальные условия проведения процесса разложения ильменита, при которых достигается максимальная степень разложения ильменита (92,6 %) и извлечения титана (94,2 %) и железа (88,7 %) в раствор выщелачивания: активация пробы в течение 8-10 мин, Т : Ж = 1 : 4, t = 120 °С, t = 2 ч, = 750 г/л. Определен оптимальный состав экстракционной смеси на основе Cyanex 925, и установлены оптимальные условия для процессов экстракции, промывки и реэкстракции для извлечения титана из фильтратов после разложения ильменита. Содержание TiO2 в конечном продукте составило > 99,9 мас. %. На основании полученных результатов предложена принципиальная технологическая схема переработки ильменита. Сквозное извлечение железа по схеме составило 75,4 %, титана — 91,6 %. Регенерация серной кислоты по схеме более 80 %., A new method involving ball milling, with subsequent leaching, solvent extraction, hydrolysis, and calcination stages, has been proposed for the preparation of titanium dioxide from ilmenite. The effects of the process parameters were systematically investigated. The result showed that the optimum milling conditions were a mass ratio of ilmenite to ball of 4 and time of 8 min. For acid leaching, the optimum conditions were 750 g/L H2SO4, ore / acid ratio of 1 g / 4 ml, 120 °C and 120 min. Under those conditions, 94,2 % Ti and 88,7 % Fe was dissolved with a maximum degree of ilmenite decomposition > 92 %. The optimal composition of the extraction mixture based on Cyanex 925 and the optimum conditions for the extraction, washing and stripping processes for recovering titanium from the leaching solution produced in the sulfuric acid leaching of the ilmenite were determined. The content of TiO2 obtained in the product is up to 99,9 wt. %. Based on these results, a schematic flowsheet was proposed. Total extraction of iron was 75,4 %, titanium — 91,6 %. Возможности применения природных материалов при модифицировании стали могут существенно снизить затраты на ее производство и улучшить качество получаемого металла. Приведены основные характеристики используемого материала и полученные при его использовании результаты. One of effective methods for improving the quality of steel is modifying. The article considers the possibility of using natural concentrate as a modifier in the smelting of steel. The possibilities of using natural materials in the modification of steel can significantly reduce the costs of its production and improve the quality of the resulting metal. The main characteristics of the material used and the results obtained with its use are given.

Изучены индикаторные минералы кимберлитов низкопродуктивной трубки Моркока, расположенной в Далдыно-Алакитском алмазоносном районе Якутии. Гранат представлен пиропом лерцолитового и дунит-гарцбургитового парагенезисов. В большинстве проб пиропа установлены пониженные содержания Cr2O3, повышенные содержания TiO2 и CaO. Ильменит характеризуется умеренным количеством магния и повышенным содержанием титана. Зерна пиропа и ильменита имеют реликты магматогенной поверхности со следами растворения и келифитовые каймы. Несмотря на низкую продуктивность трубки Моркока, некоторые признаки индикаторных минералов указывают на их принадлежность к высокоалмазоносным ассоциациям, что повышает перспективы Моркокинского кимберлитового поля., The kimberlite indicator minerals from the low productivity Morkoka pipe, which is located in Daldyno-Alakit diamondiferous region of Yakutia, were studied. Garnets are presented as pyrope from lherzolitic and dunite-harzburgite parageneses. The most pyrope samples contain lowered range Cr2O4, enhanced range TiO2 and CaO. Ilmenite is characterized by a moderate amount of magnesium and high titanium content. The pyrope and ilmenite grains have relicts of magmatic surface with traces of dissolution and kelyphite rims. Despite the low productivity of pipe Morkoka, some signs of indicator minerals indicate that they belong to high diamond associations, which increases the prospects of kimberlite field Morkoka.

Установлены источники накопления циркона в Приднепровской россыпной зоне. Ими являются гранитоидные массивы коростенского комплекса для россыпей Волынского района, а также граниты и мигматиты кировоградского типа для россыпей Среднего Приднепровья. Определены факторы, влияющие на процесс россыпеобразования: наличие региональных коренных источников на Украинском щите (УЩ), интенсивное химическое выветривание пород в областях сноса, перенос терригенного материала с многократным его переотложением, наличие промежуточных коллекторов, гидродинамические характеристики среды отложения. Изучены особенности геологического строения и условия накопления циркона, отмечена приуроченность россыпей к отложениям новопетровской свиты. Продемонстрированы результаты и возможности цифрового структурно-литологического моделирования (ЦСЛМ) распределения циркона на Злобичском и Мотроновско-Анновском месторождениях., The sources of zircon accumulation within the Dnieper placer zone have been determined. There were the granitoid massifs of Korosten complex in the Volyn region; as well as granites and migmatites of Kirovograd type for the placers from Near Dnieper region. The factors which are influence on process of placer forming have been revealed: the availability of regional indigenous sources (Ukrainian Shield), intense chemical weathering of rocks in the source area, transfer of terrigenous material considering multiple redeposition, presence of intermediate collectors, hydrodynamic characteristics of sedimentation. The geological structure and the conditions of zircon accumulation have been studied. The confinement of placer deposits to Novopetrovsky suite features has been provided. The results and capabilities of digital structural-lithological modelling (DSLM) on zircon distribution within the Zlobychy and Motrona-Annyvske deposits have been demonstrated., Встановлено джерела накопичення циркону в Придніпровській розсипній зоні. Вивчено особливості геологічної будови і умови накопичення циркону, відзначена приуроченість розсипів до відкладень Новопетрівської свити. Продемонстровані результати і можливості цифрового структурно-літологічного моделювання (ЦСЛМ) розподілу циркону на Злобичському і Мотронівсько-Аннівському родовищах.
