Introduction Bruxism is a parafunction characterized by excessive chewing muscle activity involving grinding or clenching of the teeth. Bruxism has become a significant challenge in the field of pediatric dentistry. Aim of the study The aim of this comprehensive review is to provide an overview of bruxism in children, focusing on etiology, symptoms, diagnosis, and current treatment options. To draw attention to the prevalence of the disorder and to raise awareness of the importance of early recognition and intervention for bruxism in children. Materials and methods An analysis of scientific articles available in the PubMed and Google Scholar databases was conducted. Our research is supported by all relevant publications from recent years. The etiology, diagnosis, and treatment of bruxism in children were of particular interest in the study. This process involved the use of the following keywords: ‘bruxism’, ‘children’, ‘sleep bruxism’, ‘tooth wear’, ‘bruxism diagnosis’, ‘bruxism etiology’, ‘bruxism treatment’. Conclusions We evaluated 31 relevant publications. The results of the study indicate a variation in the prevalence of bruxism in children, oscillating between 13-49%. The etiology of this disorder is multidimensional and remains incompletely elucidated. The primary methods of diagnosing bruxism in younger patients include observation by parents or caregivers, a thorough health history and intraoral and extraoral dental examination. Physiotherapy and psychotherapy are recommended for the treatment of nocturnal bruxism in children. Prompt recognition of the disorder and implementation of appropriate therapy can help to halt the progression of motor dysfunction of the masticatory apparatus in children.

Description of the State of Knowledge: Bruxism has been recognized as a prevalent dental disorder affecting a significant portion of the adult population. The condition involves the repetitive motion of grinding or clenching teeth, often occurring during sleep or subconsciously during waking hours. While its exact etiology remains multifactorial, stress, anxiety, malocclusion, and lifestyle factors are frequently implicated. The symptoms range from dental damage and jaw pain to headaches and disturbed sleep patterns, necessitating a comprehensive understanding of the disorder for accurate diagnosis and appropriate intervention. Current knowledge highlights the importance of early detection and tailored therapeutic approaches to alleviate symptoms and prevent complications. Summary: This article synthesizes existing knowledge on bruxism, addressing its etiological factors, clinical manifestations, diagnostic modalities, and available treatment options. By consolidating the state of knowledge, this research contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of bruxism and facilitates the development of evidence-based approaches for its management.

Introduction: Nowadays, botulinum toxin has found use in many disease entities such as chronic migraine, spasticity, bruxism and many others. Among serotypes A-E, type A is mainly used in treatment. For the therapeutic effect to be maintained, injections need to be repeated most often after 12 weeks. More frequent injections of the toxin may result in the production of neutralizing antibodies. Aim of the study: The aim was to collect and analyze publications of application of botulinum toxin type A (BT-A) in the treatment of chronic migraine, spasticity and bruxism. Methods and materials: We reviewed the literature available in the PubMed database using the key words: “botulinum toxin”; “migraine”; “spasticity”; “bruxism”. Results: The use of botulinum toxin type A in patients with chronic migraine reduces the frequency of pain episodes and alleviates the symptoms. BT-A therapy reduces increased muscle tension, resulting in improved function of the upper or lower limb, facilitating the rehabilitation process, reducing pain associated with spasticity and protecting against the development of muscle contractures and secondary joint deformities. BT-A treatment of patients with bruxism reduces the level of pain and the maximum generated bite force, resulting in an improved quality of life for patients. Conclusion: Intramuscular administration of botulinum toxin is a safe, effective and minimally invasive method of treating chronic migraine, spasticity and bruxism. The botulinum toxin type A is the most studied serotype used for therapeutic purposes. Future research on botulinum toxin will certainly allow wider use.

The medical use of botulinum toxin nowadays is widespread. Recent years show that use of botulinum toxin is not only used to control the muscular overactivity in bruxism, tension in temporomandibular disorders but also it can be applied for cosmetic reasons. The objective of this study was to view recent discoveries in this subject by conducting a systemic review of clinical trials published in the research works. Recent studies present efficacy in releasing pain in both: bruxism and temporomandibular disorders by minimizing symptoms and reducing the intensity of muscle contractions. The scientific works cited confirm a noticeable improvement in most symptoms occurring in the states mentioned above.

Doctors of various specialties face orofacial pain in their practice: dentists, maxillofacial surgeons, neurologists, otorhinolaryngologists, therapists, traumatologists, ophthalmologists, psychotherapists, physiotherapists, aesthetic medicine doctors, neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists, plastic surgeons and other specialists. The novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) pandemic, spread by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, has become a challenge for all medical specialties and health care systems around the world. We searched the literature for the period from the beginning of the pandemic until June 15, 2022, on the study of the association of orofacial pain with a new coronavirus infection COVID-19 in the electronic search engines PubMed and Scopus. An analysis of the sources found indicates an increase in the frequency of various types of orofacial pain during the COVID-19 pandemic, which is due both to the SARS-CoV-2 infection itself and to a complex of biopsychosocial factors directly related to the pandemic. A number of used drugs, primarily non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, can cause a number of side effects that complicate both dental treatment and negatively affect concomitant comorbid pathology. In this regard, the issues of drug safety and pharmacological "correction" of side effects – protective or protector therapy – become relevant. The use of the universal gastro- and enteroprotector rebamipide is especially important during the pandemic of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

Bruxism is a commonly reported functional para-function of the oral cavity. Its symptoms are quite characteristic and include, above all, excessive clenching and grinding of the teeth. (2) Other complaints most frequently reported by patients are headaches, pain in the temporomandibular joint, excessive tooth abrasion, damage to dentures, waking up at night, visual effect - the so-called "square jaw". The etiology is multifactorial therefore it is difficult to treat its symptoms. Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin produced by the anaerobic bacteria Clostridium botulinum. Its mechanism is based on the reversible inhibition of acetylcholine release in neuromuscular junctions. Intramuscular injection of botulinum toxin is one of the treatments of bruxism. So far, this method is used off-label. Looking at the promising results of randomized studies on the use of botulinum toxin in bruxism, this may change in the near future. As shown by previous studies, it is not an ideal method, but nevertheless it is one of the most effective and the best for the patient. The downside to the use of botulinum toxin in the treatment of bruxism symptoms are, inter alia, contraindications to the use of this drug and the duration of its action - 3-6 months. This systematic review of selected articles and studies aims to examine the available literature in order to determine the effectiveness of the use of botulinum toxin in the treatment of bruxism and to assess whether it is currently the most effective method. Pubmed and Google Scholar were searched for literature.

It is important to make the patient aware of the disorder, it’s possible consequences, and the need for treatment. Aim of the study: approximation of the bruxism profile, drawing attention to the prevalence of the disorder and the need for early diagnosis, as well as discussing the current therapeutic options Material and methods: the authors reviewed the literature on bruxism in terms of its causes, epidemiology, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment Conclusions: Correct, short-term diagnosis and application of appropriate treatment may inhibit the development of functional disorders of the masticatory system.

Introduction and purpose: Masticatory muscles hyperactivity is currently a very common problem among adult population. The ignorance of the symptoms and the lack or unsuccessful treatment may lead to serious health complications, which lead to major focus on improvement of the standard therapy for bruxism. The aim of the study was to provide a broad review on the promising treatment of bruxism symptoms with botulinum neurotoxin injections. Material and method: The review was conducted based on an available literature on PubMed database, searching the following phrases: bruxism, botulinum neurotoxin. Results: As bruxism has a very complex etiology, the treatment can not be narrowed down to one therapy system. Despite the fact that botulinum neurotoxin injections can not solve the primary reason of bruxism occurrence, it has shown excellent results in treatment of symptoms, since the substance has an ability to induce muscle relaxation. Therefore, such pain relief substance has shown a much better performance and long lasting results in comparison to drug therapy or behavioral treatment. Conclusions: The research confirmed that the usage of botulinum in the treatment of masticatory muscles hyperactivity is safe, well-tolerated by the patients and shows satisfying results. Conducted studies have proven that the most effective way of bruxism treatment is a therapy, which tackles both complex etiology of the disorder and its symptoms.

Introduction and purpose: This review aims to introduct botulinum toxin as a potentially efficent and safe therapeutic option in many diseases. Material and method: This review was mainly based on articles collected in Pubmed in years 2012-2021. The research was done by looking through keywords as follows “botulinum toxin”, “botox”, “bruxism”, “first bite syndrome”. Results: The selected studies have demonstrated that botulinum toxin usage is effective, safe and should be considered as therapeutic option in many diseases. Conclusions: Botulinum toxin efficiency is proven in therapy of many different types of disorders. Further studies are required to reveal its full potiential, which will most likely lead to its increasing usage in treatment.

Aim: Assessment of neck disability index in people with bruxism. Material and Methods: The study was conducted on a group of 40 subjects of both sexes, in the age range of 18 to 38 years old, with diagnosed bruxism according to Panek (B2, B3). The control group consisted of the same number of subjects in the same age range without bruxism. The research tool was the standardized neck spine disability index (NDI). The scale consists of an examination date and a follow-up after time and 10 questions related to: pain intensity, daily activities, lifting, reading, headaches, concentration, working, driving, sleeping and recreation. Results: Individuals with bruxism are more likely to have higher rates of neck disability index. The analyses conducted showed that individuals diagnosed with bruxism achieved higher levels of pain for almost all factors on the NDI scale. The study found that significantly higher difficulty and pain intensity was present for almost all aspects among those aged 25-31 years, those with a university education, and those who were employed. Conclusion: The biomechanical connections between the stomatognathic system and the cervical spine indicate the need for functional assessment of the cervical spine in individuals with bruxism.

Introduction: Bruxism is defined as a stereotypical hyperactivity of the masseter characterized by clenching and grinding of the teeth. Etiopathology of bruxism still remains unclear, is one of the least known dysfunctions of the stomatognathic system. However, a lot of research have shown the correlation between stress and bruxism.The aim of the study: Paying attention to the correlation between the occurrence of stress and the presence of bruxism in the population.Material and method: The research was done by the usage of the PubMed and Google Scholar articles about the topic of: bruxism; stress; epidemiology; characteristic; psychotherapy;Description of the state of knowledge: Psychosocial factors such as state anxiety and trait anxiety, alexithymia, and perceived stress are as important as somatic causes in the occurrence and maintenance of bruxism. Impact of stress is especially noticeable during research conducted on students. Management of bruxism should embrace dental, pharmacological and psychobehavioural procedures. It requires a wider analysis in the aspect of concomitant disorders. The involvement of different specialists is required.Summary: We can undoubtedly say that stress is an inherent condition that accompanies us in everyday life. However, it is important to pay attention to its coexistence with bruxism and its harmful effect not only on organs such as the heart or stomach, but also the stomatognathic system - which is confirmed by many studies. However, the multidimensionality and complexity of the etiology of bruxism require further considerations and research.

Introduction: Current research results show that the phenomenon of stress occurring during the performance of official tasks is becoming more and more common among the vast majority of professional groups. People holding managerial positions are subject to strong pressure because they are responsible for supervising and commissioning tasks to subordinates, and thus for the proper functioning and economic performance of the company. With this mode of work, people in managerial positions are constantly subjected to stressful situations. Aim: The aim of the study was to assess stress and its impact on the appearance of bruxism among people in managerial positions in the construction industry. Additionally, the impact of stress on the occurrence of temporomandibular joint pain was assessed. Materials and methods: The material were employees (n = 104) performing managerial functions in the construction industry, who gave informed consent to participate in completing the three-part anonymous research questionnaire. The first part of the survey included general information about the respondents (i.e. age, sex, education, seniority). The second part of the questionnaire consisted of seven closed questions about their professional work and stress at work. The third part of the survey consists of 8 closed questions in the form of a ten-point scale assessing the occurrence of bruxism symptoms. The obtained test results were subjected to statistical analysis, where the correlation coefficient and Pearson test (p ≤ 0.05) were used. Results: Stress at work was found in all respondents. 70% of respondents declare that they are satisfied with their work, and 66% say that work affects their health. Analyzing the level of stress at work (scale 0-10), the most common answer was 6 (30.77%), followed by 8 (25%). Among the factors causing stress to the most frequently chosen the answers were: time pressure (60.58%), subordinates (50%). Bruxism symptoms, i.e. headache (89%), teeth clenching (83%), temporomandibular joint pain (75%), masticatory pain (64%), worn tooth surfaces (61%) have been observed in the construction industry. . The rarest symptoms of bruxism in the examined group are: teeth grinding (59%), facial swelling (58%), sensory disturbances (54%). When asked about the level of severity of complaints reported (on a scale of 0-10) within the US, headaches followed by teeth clenching and temporomandibular joint aches. The stress felt by the respondents related to the occurrence of pain within the temporomandibular joints shows a positive correlation [r = 0.032]. We can therefore assume that the higher the stress level, the higher the sensation of temporomandibular joint pain. Ailments such as headaches - [r = 0.091] teeth clenching - [r = 0.141], teeth grinding - [r = 0.116], worn surfaces - [r = 0.107] and facial edema - [r = 0.067] also show positive correlation, but for a given significance the correlations are weak.Conclusions:1. People in managerial positions in the construction sector experience work-related stress.2. Stress may affect the occurrence of bruxism symptoms in persons in managerial positions in the construction sector.3.Higher levels of stress in the workplace may affect the higher sensation of temporomandibular joint pain.

Interdisciplinary approach to diagnosing parafunctional activity (including questionnaire, postural analysis, plantography, radiography, electromyography) allows a conservative management for patients with generalized teeth wear without depulpation and total prosthodontics. In this case we used HIP-analyze, TENS therapy, relaxation and stabilization splint. Corrective insoles were made for posture correction. Full-mouth oral rehabilitation after stabilization process was achieved with composite restorations based on the wax-up. After the 18-month observation period the patient noted adaptation to adhesive restorations, normal mastication and occlusion.

Background: Bruxism is defined as the parafunction of masticatory system, which consists in clamping or gnashing teeth, often combined with the feeling of stiffness of the jaw. Risk factors for bruxism include psychosocial factors e.g. stress and anxiety. Climbing, as a extreme sports, may be associated with an increased level of mental tension due to the relatively high stress load. ¬ Aim: This study aims to determine the prevalence and risk factors for bruxism among climbers. Material and methods: 104 people came for the study. Finally 88 people were qualified for the statistical analysis, including 41 women and 47 men with an average age of 28 years (± 7 years). The study consisted of an author's questionnaire containing questions about bruxism and its risk factors. The questions used to assess bruxism were constructed in accordance with the guidelines of Pintado et al., Lavigne et al. and Thorpy. Results: 51.1% of the respondents suffered from awakening bruxism (51.2% women, 51.1% men), while 22.7% suffered from sleep bruxism (34.1% women, 12.8% men). 73.3% of the respondents with awakening bruksizm and 80% of the respondents with sleep bruxism had higher education. Conclusions: • The prevalence of sleep bruxism among climbers is 22.7%, while awake bruxism is 51.1%. • The higher prevalence of bruxism in climbers relative to the general population can be explained by the specificity of the mobility abilities necessary for climbing training and the climber's mental burden. • Both sleep and awake bruxism seems to be associated with higher education. • Sleep bruxism is more common in climbing women than in climbing men. • We recommend further research into the prevalence and risk factors for bruxism among climbers and other athletes.

Aim. The research was conducted to develop and implement the complex of diagnostic activities in patients with dysfunction of temporomandibular joints with signs of bruxism.Materials and methods. To achieve this aim we conducted a comprehensive diagnosis of 61 patients aged 20-29 years with bruxism and temporomandibular joints dysfunction (TMJD), the patients were divided into two groups. To diagnose and analyze the results of the disease treatment in patients we used a computer analysis with visualization of changes of the osteoarticular surface and parameters of the joint gap in the TMJ. Depending on the ratio of prognostic risk criteria and the development of bruxism, we distinguished the area of low, medium and high level of risk of disease progression.Results. Comparison of the treatment results of patients with bruxism from two groups in 12-24 months showed that patients from the second group had good treatment results. Patients of the second group underwent a complex of diagnostic activities and its data increased the treatment effectiveness. The results obtained from the treatment of patients from the first group indicate the lack of data from the standard examination of patients with bruxism.Conclusion. The developed complex diagnostic activities in patients with bruxism in combination with dysfunction of the TMJ and occlusive attrition of teeth allow to assess not only the local status but also to determine the functional state of dentoalveolar system and the cerebral cortex which affects the amount of therapeutic activities in the patient.

The pace of life in the 21st century, stress and all its negative effects make this problem a civilization disease. In 2013, World Health Organization provided the guidelines on the procedures in the cases connected with stress. About 77% of population regularly feels physical symptoms of stress, 17% suffers from bruxism (gnashing of teeth). The occurrence of bruxism has large impact on functional quality of temporomandibular joint. Long-term disease may lead to limitation of movements, which causes serious deterioration of quality of life. Bruxism may also lead to the disorders within muscles making moves in the discussed joint such as hypertrophy of masseter and temporal muscle, which results in the change of shape of the face („square face”) and to pain in the region of the attachments of these muscles. Many people suffer from bruxism and the effects of functional disorders of the temporomandibular joint are a serious health problem. Therefore, education making people aware of this disease and early diagnostics to implement appropriate treatment are necessary.

Introduction. Particularities of personality of a sick person play an important role in providing effective treatment and prevention of relapse in various pathologies. Therefore, the position of the patient in relation to his/her health and ongoing treatment, as well as to doctors and auxiliary medical personnel are important factors in the success of rehabilitation.Parafunctions of masticatory muscles, which are understood as an impractical inappropriate activity, are known to be often found. They are poorly amenable to treatment and very painful for patients. The use of psychopharmaceutical and psychotherapeutic methods aimed at changing the patient’s attitude to the disease can help to cure such dental patient. This can change the patient’s response to the disease and create realistic settings for treatment. At the same time, the study of the attitude of dental patients to the disease is practically not covered in the accessible domestic and foreign literature. The purpose of study is researchthe attitude to the disease of adults suffering from various forms of parafunctions of the masticatory muscles.Material and methods. The work was carried out to study the attitude of 29 adults suffering from various forms of parafunctions of the masticatory muscles to the disease. To determine the type of attitude to the patient’s disease,we used the TOBOL clinical test method (type of attitude to the disease), which implements the clinical and psychological typology of patient attitude and provides for the possibility of defining one of the twelve types of responses.Results. It was found that before treatment, regardless of age in individuals suffering from parafunction of the masticatory muscles,there were more common types of attitude to the disease, in which the observed maladaptive behavior with predominantly intrapsychic oriented response to the disease manifested the characteristic reactions of the type of irritable weakness, anxiety, depressed and oppressed condition. The performed complex treatment with the use of complex dental treatment and preventive measures, physical therapy exercises and antispasmodic of skeletal muscles allowed to achieve treatment efficiency of 95.8 %. Thus, it changed patients’ inadequate response to the disease, eliminated significant signs of mental maladjustment, as well as createdrealistic attitude to treatmentin patients, helped to restore broad social relations and active participation in treatment.Conclusions. The obtained data about the type of attitude of patients with such chronic, severe and painful pathology as parafunct ions of masticatory muscles are of practical value, as the achievement of a positive therapeutic result and successful rehabilitation are possible only if the patient’s attitude toward the disease changes, especially in the second and third types in the framework of the test «Type of attitude towards the disease» (TOBOL), therefore the involvement of a clinical pharmacologist or psychiatrist is necessary for rehabilitation of such patients.

Study of factors that lead to bruxism, is a method of early detection of the disease and prevention of serious complications. The specific features of EEG data in patients with bruxism in order to identify the correlation of functional changes in brain activity and muscle dysfunction.

Introduction: Bruxism is defined as abnormal, fixed, unconscious chewing organ function, deviating qualitatively and quantitatively from normal function. Another definition speaks of motor dysfunction in the mouth, characterized by grinding and clenching of the teeth, occurring during sleep. The etiology of this disorder has not been explained until now, but it is believed to be related to localized, mental, nervous and neurotransmitter disorders. Purpose: The aim of the study is to review literature and knowledge about the use of botulinum toxin in the treatment of bruxism. Methods of treatment: The patient reports to the physician usually after a distressing, difficult to locate pain. The basis for proper treatment is to detect parafunctions and to make the patient aware of their existence. Diagnostic symptoms include dentinal lesions, recesses, enamel cracks and abfractive cavities, as well as changes in the mucosal area of the cheeks. Treatment begins with the use of an occlusive therapy to relax muscles, reduce parafunction and relieve pain. In the form of severe pain, NSAIDs are introduced and, if necessary, anxiolytics, sedatives and antidepressants. In the absence of response to the treatment used, botulinum toxin type A injections are used. The dose of the agent depends on the initial muscle tone and the effect of decrease in its activity is maintained for 4 to 6 months. Conclusions: The use of botulinum toxin makes it possible to selectively exclude overactive muscles, which is a great advantage over other techniques. An additional benefit of this therapy is achieved good cosmetic effect, reversible effect and minimal amount of side effects.

The Aim of the Study: Was to assess the impact of masticatory muscles hypertonicity on the bite formation., Materials and Methods: The study comprised 60 patients aged 7-14 years. Group 1 consisted of 20 individuals with Angle class 1 occlusion without masticatory muscle hypertonicity. Group 2 comprised 20 patients with class II malocclusion with hypertonicity of the masticatory muscles, group 3 - 20 patients class II malocclusion and no hypertonic masticatory muscles. All patients were examined according to common diagnostic protocol that included electromyography of the temporal and masticatory muscles at rest and in dynamics)., Results: In group 1 the mean IMPACT at rest was 242.8±133.6 µV, IMPACT during contraction was 880.50±201.5 µV; in group 2 - 797.9±413.0 and 1561.23±568.0 μV; in group 3 - 236.7±93.5 and 955.60±295.5 μV, correspondingly. The ratio of the activity of the temporal muscles to the masticatory muscles with neutral occlusion at rest correlates as 1:09, with compression 1:1. In patients with distal occlusion and the presence of hypertonicity at rest, the temporal muscles correspond to the chewing proper as 1:0.8, and with compression 1:09., Conclusion: The estimated ratio can contribute to the retroposition of the mandible, as well as inhibition of the growth of the mandible in the sagittal direction.

Objective: Improving the effectiveness of treatment of patients with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction complicated by bruxism., Material and Methods: 70 patients with signs of parafunction of the masticatory muscles were selected for the clinical study. The patients were divided into 2 groups of 35 people. Splints were made for patients from the groups using 2 different 3D printing methods. The treatment was monitored using clinical and instrumental studies, electromyography of the muscles themselves and computed tomography of the TMJ after 3, 6 and 12 months., Results: The severity of hypertonicity of the masticatory muscles decreased by the end of 3 months of treatment with the help of repositioning occlusal splints. After 6 months of treatment, the mean BEA decreased in both study groups, but to a lesser extent than in the first 3 months. After wearing a splint after 12 months, the decrease in muscle tone was insignificant., Conclusion: The clinical use of positioning splints plays a crucial role in the stabilization of occlusion and is a mandatory stage of complex treatment of patients with pathology of the occlusal-musculoskeletal complex.

The analysis of literary and other information sources (in PubMed, Google Scholar, KiberLeninka and eLibrary databases) devoted to the study of dental manifestations of psychological conditions and the analysis of the ability of dentists to identify psychological predictors of increased tooth erasure in adolescents and young people. Disorders such as stress, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, alcohol dependence, eating disorders - may be risk factors for the development of increased tooth abrasion. Comorbid conditions such as bruxism and gastroesophageal reflux are also considered. Due to the high mortality of adolescents due to mental illness, early diagnosis of disorders of psychological and mental health of adolescents is extremely relevant. Attention is focused on the possibility of early diagnosis by dentists of psychological and mental problems by the presence and type of increased erasability of teeth. Effective examination and treatment of such patients requires a holistic, interdisciplinary approach.

Objective: The aim of the study was to determine changes in the oral mucosa in patients with bruxism using the method of autofluorescence stomatoscopy., Material and Methods: 50 patients with bruxism aged 35-65 years were examined at the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Medicine, Medical University - Sofia, Bulgaria. Using the digital diagnostic system OccluSense (Bausch, Germany), deviations in static and dynamic occlusion were determined. For the diagnosis of precancerous diseases and early stages of malignant neoplasms of the oral mucosa, we used the method of autofluorescent stomatoscopy using a LED stomatoscope «AFS» made in Russia with radiation in the spectral range of 400 nm., Results: The normal mucous membrane of the mouth at this frequency of the spectrum has a green glow. Metabolic and/or structural changes occurring at the cellular and/or tissue level of the oral mucosa lead to a change in its optical properties.Analysis of occlusion in 50 patients with bruxism showed uneven distribution of the chewing load. In 60% of patients, the presence of supercontacts was revealed, and in 76% of cases, occlusion disorders were detected, in 88% of patients, hyperkeratosis of the buccal mucosa was noted, and in 77.3% they were localized along the line of closing of the teeth., Conclusion: Examination of the oral mucosa using the autofluorescent stomatoscopy method allows visualizing and, accordingly, objectifying the presence of hyperkeratotic changes in the buccal mucosa in patients with bruxism. The APS apparatus allows for a reliable and effective assessment of non-inflammatory and inflammatory changes, precancerous and cancerous lesions, which makes it indispensable for the manifestation of oncological alertness in the daily clinical practice of dentists.
