Abstract

Four individual tissue proteins were studied both in normal and tumoral tissue of kidney (hypernephroma, Wilms tumor) using immunochemical analysis. Occurrence of an antigen, which was absent in definitive tissue of homologous origin, as well as a decrease in biosynthesis of some homologous antigens were found in malignant tissue.

Abstract

Peripheral blood lymphocytes were studied in 22 pediatric patients suffering nephroblastoma and neuroblastoma. Monoclonal antibodies were used. Failure of T-cell immunity was registered in both groups. Nephroblastoma patients revealed high levels of natural killer cells. Immunity was studied versus clinical stage, duration of disease and response. Immunocorrection modalities are discussed.

Abstract

The importance of NK-cells was shown in 12 patients with nephroblastoma and 10 patients with neuroblastoma using ICO-11 monoclonal antibodies. The numbers of circulating LFA-1+ cells were shown to be different in the untreated and treated patients. A certain regular influence of antitumour therapy on the amount of circulating LFA-1+ cells was established.
