The aim of the study was to assess gender-related preferences in the choice of oral rehabilitation methods. The study involved 225 patients aged 16-75. The analysis included patients survey and the assessment of actual procedures received during one year follow-up. The study revealed women to be more attentive to oral health issues resulting in more regular appointments and better compliance. Dental treatment before planned pregnancy was, however, completed in only half of the patients. When choosing materials and constructions for oral rehabilitation the leading criteria for men were 'quality' and 'safety', while women chose 'esthetics' and 'quality'. Both genders would like to have their teeth 'whiter' but women undergo bleaching procedures more often. The dentists need to consider the revealed gender-related features for planning of prevention, treatment and full oral rehabilitation.

The objective of the present study was to elucidate the possibility of using psycho-diagnostic tools for the preventive diagnostics of the patients' adherence to the treatment in the course of medical rehabilitation. The article presents the overview of the available literature concerning the problem of interest. It is shown that the important factors of preventive diagnostics of the compliance include the peculiar steady-state and dynamic features of the individual patients presenting with chronic pathology, their current emotional state, intellectual and motivational preparedness for the active and meaningful participation in the rehabilitation process. The psychometric characteristics of the main methodological techniques that can be used for diagnostics of these parameters are described. Also reported are the data illustrating the necessity of the neuropsychological studies of the higher mental functions as well as formal standard testing and clinical interviewing of the patients by health providers for the purpose of determining the patient's preparedness for the efficient engagement in the process of rehabilitation.

Acute ischemic brain injury (stroke, stroke), a leader among the causes of morbidity and mortality in the world. This pathology is one of the most pressing health and social problems that cause enormous economic damage to society, due to the high fatality rate, significant disability and social maladjustment of patients, which is based in most cases are the motor and cognitive impairment. Despite the fact that, currently established risk factors and pathophysiological basis of this disease, the availability of effective methods of diagnosing illness, still a practicing neurologist in some cases difficult to find adequate therapy that could effectively reach a well-established neurological deficit. Therefore the search for treatments that effectively reduce the health and social consequences of vascular damage to the brain, is one of the priority areas of neurology.

We have developed a socio-psychological model of healing that is focused on the integrated health indicators and coordinated with the idea of holism in medicine. The holistic principle implies a system of medical care giving priority to health as an integral indicator of the completeness of physical, social, and psychological well-being. The essence of the proposed socio-psychological model is the use of the technology of "assembly" of the subjects of healing that implies the relationship between the physician and the patient based on the mutual trust, dialogue, cooperation, and responsibility. The model can be fully extrapolated to the practical situations of medicopsychological rehabilitation.

10-year experience in prosthetics of extremity stumps in conditions of the Central Military Clinical Hospital N 6 was analyzed. In the hospital during the period from 1989 to 1999 prosthetic appliance was made in 203 patients with amputating defects of extremities, 37 of them with pair stumps and 1 with lack of segments of all extremities. Most patients (80.5%) had stumps at the level of femur and crus. Basing on the analysis of modern scientific literature and experience gained in hospital the authors have formulated organizational and methodical states. Thanks to observance of the stated principles it was possible to optimize considerably the process of medico-psychological and social rehabilitation, to achieve good functional results in all patients treated in the hospital. Adequate use of experience in other military medical and prophylactic institutions will contribute to significant decrease in periods of return of servicemen to social useful labour and increase in efficiency of rehabilitation measures.
