Recent achievements in the field of preparation of polymer composites (including hybrids) based on acrylics and titanium dioxide have been overviewed and analyzed. The general methods of preparation of the composites, their properties and basic application areas were discussed. Surface modification techniques applied for dispersed TiO2 as a key condition for preparation of the composites with defined properties have been detailed. Is synthesized new hybrid organic-inorganic composites on the basis of modified ε-kaprolaktamom silicate of sodium and urethanes contains isocyanates at the different maintenance ε-kaprolaktama in system. Properties of polymeric compositions are investigated on the basis of mixes secondary polythene thermoplasts and polystyrene depending on structure of a mix. The dependencies of creep and mechanical relaxation, elongation and stress/strain function, elasticity modulus at elongation and pressure on the chemical composition of organic component of OIS based on oligoetherurethane, polyisocyanate with low molecular weight, and metal silicate were investigated. Conductive segregated systems based on polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and carbon nanotubes (CNT) obtained by hot-compacting have been studied. The filler creates the conductive skeleton at ultra-low value of the percolation threshold jñ = 0,045 vol.%. The presence of the filler macro-network influences on the thermomechanical properties of PVC/CNT composites that leads to the creation of high-elastic behavior. It was shown, that repeated loading behavior of the system containing structurizing filler depending on gypsum concentration possesses extreme character. The system behavior during first loading cycle depends of physical bonding leveling the polyurethane to a greater extent than of filler concentration and/or filler presence. Epoxy polymers based on epoxy resin ED-20 and water solutions of phosphotungstic and phosphomolibdic heteropolyacids have been synthesized. It is shown that the type of heteropolyacid and quantity of the solvent influence on the structural characteristics and the conductivity of the obtained epoxy-inorganic polymers. Increasing of the crosslinking density of the epoxy-inorganic polymer causes growth its glass transition temperature in accordance with the linear law. This dependence is stronger for the epoxy-phosphomolibdic polymers than for the epoxy-phosphotungstic polymers. Structural studies of original and functionalized copolymers of ethylene and vinyl acetate and compositions based on them containing crumb rubber by IR-spectroscopy, X-ray analysis and DSC were carried out. It was shown that vinyl acetate content affects on structuring of the copolymers and their physical and chemical properties. The properties of the composition filled with solution of the organic and inorganic salts depend on the type of salt anion and cation. Strong acid anions increase the composition strength while the anion of weak carbonic acid decreases the composition strength considerably. The best results were obtained for the cation of bivalent metals such as magnesium and copper . Aim      To study prognostic significance of the degree of stenosis of carotid and lower-extremity arteries (LEA) in patients at high and very high risk of cardiovascular complications (CVC).Material and methods  The study included men and women aged 40-67 years at high and very high risk of CVC. Duplex ultrasound scanning of carotid arteries and LEA was performed for all patients. Laboratory tests included measurements of glucose, glycated hemoglobin, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), triglycerides, uric acid, creatinine with estimation of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) using the CKD-EPI Creatinine Equation formula, and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP). Composite endpoint was death from CVC, nonfatal myocardial infarction, nonfatal stroke, and coronary revascularization.Results The study included 214 patients from groups of high and very high risk of CVC. Median age of patients was 59.0 [53.2; 64.0] years. A very high risk was identified in 141 (65.8 %) patients and a high risk of CVC in 73 (34.1 %). Atherosclerotic plaques in at least one vascular bed were found in 191 (89.3 %) patients. Duration of the follow-up period was 32.0 [13.7; 49.1] months. Outcomes comprising the composite endpoint were observed in 36 (16.8 %) patients. Presence of carotid stenosis ≥35 % was not statistically significantly associated with the occurrence of outcomes comprising the composite endpoint (relative risk, RR: 1.22; 95 % confidence interval, CI: 0.56-2.66; p=0.607). In contrast, the presence of LEA stenosis ≥35 % was associated with a 2.51 times increased RR of CVC (95 % CI: 1.02-6.23; p=0.044).Conclusion      In patients from the groups of high risk and very high risk of CVC, the presence of LEA stenosis ≥35 % predicted the development of severe CVC with a 69.4% sensitivity and a 61.8% specificity. The presence of LEA stenosis ≥35 %, but not of carotid arteries, was an independent predictor of severe CVC (RR, 2.51; 95 % CI: 1.02-6.23; p=0.044) after adjustments for sex, age, presence of arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus, ischemic heart disease, obesity, smoking, LDL-C, GFR, and drug therapy.

Aim    To identify clinical and laboratory indexes related with the atherosclerotic plaque (ASP) echogenicity based on results of the analysis of grey-scale median (GSM) in patients aged 40-64 years.Material and methods    The study included patients aged 40-64 years with carotid atherosclerosis. The carotid duplex scanning was performed for all patients. The GSM analysis of obtained images was performed with the Adobe Photoshop CS6 software.Results    Atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases were found in 31 (21.4 %) patients. Correlation analysis determined inverse interrelationships between GSM and the body weight index (BWI) (r=-0.359; p<0.0001), waist circumference (r=-0.357; p<0.0001), and levels of uric acid (r=-0.244; p=0.021) and glucose (r=-0.205; p=0.032). According to the regression, statistically significant correlations remained between GSM and BWI as well as the waist circumference after the adjustment for sex and age.Conclusion    In patients with carotid atherosclerosis aged 40-64 years, the decrease in ASP GSM was associated with increases in BWI and waist circumference.

Using the scanning electron microscope changes in supramolecular organization of polyurethane, (polyurethanecarbamideacylsemicarbasides), having in the main polymer chain foci of tripeptide were studied. They were subjected to proteolytic enzyme action and implanted into animal organisms. It was found that erosive processes going on the polymer plate are essentially similar either under action of proteolytic enzymes or inside a living organism.
