The work is devoted to the study of the informative value of optical methods in assessing the quality of surface water in the village of Toksovo. Tasks that were solved in the course of the study: 1. Analysis of literature on the state of water bodies in the village of Toksovo, water quality indicators and features of optical Express methods of water analysis. 2. Sampling and analysis of water samples from the Toksa river and its tributary streams. 3. To confirm the fact of contamination with domestic wastewater, perform a water analysis based on the following indicators: electrical conductivity, cations (ammonium, sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium), anions (chlorides, nitrates, sulfates, phosphates), total organic carbon (TOC), total inorganic carbon (IC), total nitrogen (TN), microbiological indicatorsFor water, obtain and analyze the optical density spectra of water (in the range of 200-800 nm) and the fluorescence spectra of water ( at the excitation wavelengths of 230 nm and 270 nm, and the registration wavelengths in the range of 220-650 nm). 4. Suggest the most informative wavelengths for detecting contamination by the fluorometric Express method. The study showed the relevance of using optical methods of water density as Express methods. The data obtained as a result of the application of optical analysis methods were confirmed by the data obtained as a result of laboratory studies.
