During the recent short-term survey conducted in the Sablinsky Natural Park, 14 species of Dolichopodidae (Diptera, Brachycera, Dolichopodidae) were collected. Sybistroma obscurella (Fallén, 1823) was found in Leningrad Oblast for the first time. Campsicnemus curvipes (Fallén, 1823), C. scambus (Fallén, 1823), Dolichopus pennatus Meigen, 1824, D. plumipes (Scopoli, 1763), Gymnopternus aerosus (Fallén, 1823), Sciapus platypterus (Fabricius, 1805) and Sympycnus pulicarius (Fallén, 1823) were recorded for the first time from the Sablinsky Natural Park. A checklist of species known from the Tosnensky District was compiled with updated nomenclature. It includes 26 genera and 128 species. The presence of Syntormon pumilus Meigen, 1824 in the Leningrad Oblast is confirmed. Syntormon denticulatus (Zetterstedt, 1843) is excluded from the regional fauna.

A new material for the dolichopodine genus Lichtwardtia Enderlein, 1912, which was collected from the Odisha state located in East India, has been recently identified. Lichtwardtia dentalis Zhang et al., 2009 and L. singaporensis Grootaert et Tang, 2018 are reported from India for the first time. Formerly doubtful species L. ziczac (Wiedemann, 1824) is described by a male. Environs of the Gop town in Odisha state are here suggested as type locality for this species, which is probably rare in nature. Incompletely described L. dentalis is redescribed, and L. singaporensis is diagnosed based on Indian material. A key for males of five Lichtwardtia species inhabiting India and Sri Lanka is compiled.

Second addition to the Afrotropical Dolichopodoidae (Diptera) Catalog (2018) and its supplement (2020) includes new species, new synonyms and new records published mainly in 2021–2022 and in few papers published earlier or later. A new species Syntormon drakei Grichanov, sp. nov. is described from Kenya, based on earlier misidentification. The list contains addition of 36 species, and exclusion of five names placed in synonymy and two non- Afrotropical species (Pseudohercostomus echinatus, Syntormon fuscipes), resulting in a new total of 844 (including 14 doubtful) dolichopodoid species and subspecies in the Afrotropical fauna.

A total of 171 species of the family Dolichopodidae (Diptera) belonging to 29 genera are presented from Iran, of which three genera (Arabshamshevia, Emiratomyia and Micromorphus) as well as seventeen species are newly recorded from the country: Arabshamshevia ajbanensis, Asyndetus albifacies, A. separatus, A. transversalis, Campsicnemus pilitarsis, C. simplicissimus, Dolichopus calinotus, D. diadema, D. efflatouni, D. zernyi, Emiratomyia arabica, Hercostomus kravchenkoi, Medetera mixta, M. spinigera, M. veles, Micromorphus mesasiaticus and M. minusculus. Considering that this number of species makes up less than 50% of actual Dolichopodidae fauna in the country, it is supposed that the total number of Iranian species can be raised to 400 or 500 species. The species Syntormon filiger is given here as the first reliable record from Iran, and Medetera micacea is excluded from the list of Iranian Dolichopodidae. The following recombinations are proposed for Chinese species: Campsicnemus flaviantenna (Tang, Wang et Yang, 2015), comb. nov.; Campsicnemus longipilosus (Tang, Wang et Yang, 2015), comb. nov. The photographs of the habitus of newly discovered species as well as some of their diagnostic characters and habitats are presented.

New material of Dolichopodidae has been recently collected in the Khingan Nature Reserve, Amurskaya Oblast, which includes 14 species (all species are new for the Reserve). In total, 86 species are reported in this Region, which apparently make up 45–50% of actual Dolichopodidae regional fauna. Amblypsilopus aff. bouvieri (Parent, 1927), Chrysotimus spinuliferus Negrobov, 1978, Gymnopternus pseudoceler (Stackelberg, 1933), Poecilobothrus flaveolus (Negrobov et Chalaya, 1987) and Sympycnus changaicus Negrobov, 1973are recorded from Priamurye for the first time. This paper also provides the distribution pattern for each collected species. A check-list of Dolichopodidae species known from Amurskaya Oblast is provided.

Faunistic data is given for 83 species of Dolichopodidae from Turkey. The following genera are recorded for the first time in Turkey: Achalcus Loew, 1857, Cyrturella Collin, 1952, and Trigonocera Becker, 1902; 21 species are recorded for the first time in Turkey: Achalcus flavicollis (Meigen, 1824), Aphrosylus venator Loew, 1857, Asyndetus separatus (Becker, 1902), Chrysotus larachensis Grichanov, Nourti et Kettani, 2020, Cyrturella albosetosa (Strobl, 1909), Hydrophorus bipunctatus (Lehmann, 1822), Lamprochromus bifasciatus (Macquart, 1827), Lamprochromus kowarzi Negrobov et Tshalaja, 1988, Medetera petrophiloides Parent, 1925, M. signaticornis Loew, 1957, Orthoceratium sabulosum (Becker, 1907), Rhaphium antennatum (Carlier, 1835), Sciapus bellus (Loew, 1873), S. euchromus (Loew, 1857), S. longulus (Fallén, 1823), S. tenuinervis (Loew, 1857), Syntormon triangulipes Becker, 1902, Teuchophorus calcaratus (Macquart, 1828), Thinophilus quadrimaculatus Becker, 1902, Trigonocera rivosa Becker, 1902, Xanthochlorus silaceus Chandler et Negrobov, 2008.

A new material of Dolichopodidae has been recently collected and identified, and includes 72 species (39 species are new for the Republic of Mordovia, 60 species have been found for the first time in the Mordovian Nature Reserve and its environs, and one species is new for the Smolny National Park). In total, 98 species are recorded in this region that apparently makes up 40–50% of actual Dolichopodidae fauna in the Republic of Mordovia. This paper provides also distribution pattern for each collected species. The list of species found in the Mordovian Nature Reserve has increased from 11 to 71.

The results of long-term studies of the dolichopodid fauna of Belarus are presented in the form of an annotated list of species for the first time. In addition, new and old material of Dolichopodidae from Belorussian and Russian collections is included. Twelve species are recorded from the country for the first time. In total, 106 species from 22 genera of long-legged flies are listed, which apparently makes up less than 50% of actual Dolichopodidae fauna of the Republic. Argyra striaticollis Becker, 1918 is known from a single male holotype described from the environs of Minsk.

On 08 January 2021, Oleg P. Negrobov, Dr.Sc., Professor of the Department of Zoology and Parasitology of the Voronezh State University (Russia), Honoured Worker of the Higher School of the Russian Federation, passed away at the age of 80. In 1959, O.P. Negrobov graduated from the Voronezh State University, and in 1967 he completed a postgraduate course at the Zoological Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In 1968, O.P. Negrobov defended his PhD Thesis «Palearctic species of the Medeterinae subfamily (Dolichopodidae, Diptera) – entomophages of hidden-stem pests», and in 1983 he defended his Dr.Sc. Thesis «System and phylogeny of the family Dolichopodidae (Diptera)». In 1967–2021, Oleg P. Negrobov worked at the Voronezh State University, where, during many years, he headed the Department of Ecology and Systematics of Invertebrates. Until the last days of his life, Professor Oleg P. Negrobov was one of the world's leading and actively working specialists in long-legged flies (Diptera: Dolichopodidae). His main scientific publications are devoted exactly to this group of Diptera insects. In total, O.P. Negrobov published more than 1000 papers on various issues in entomology and ecology. But Dolichopodidae flies were his main research object. Every year Oleg P. Negrobov published a large number of studies on the systematics of the Dolichopodidae family. He described new species and genera, and carried out their systematic revisions. For the first time, he described more than 400 species, genera and subfamilies within the order Diptera from various countries of Europe, Asia and Africa. Together with his students, he studied the morphological, biological and ecological features of long-legged flies. Professor Oleg P. Negrobov supervised a large number of scientific projects and trained many students. Under his leadership, a large number of graduate students defended their PhD Dr.Sc. theses. Professor O.P. Negrobov received a huge number of various awards, certificates and letters of thanks. In memory of his colleagues and students, Oleg P. Negrobov was remembered for his calmness and passion for his favourite work – entomology. Students raised by Professor Oleg P. Negrobov will continue the research work of their teacher, and will keep a bright memory of him for future generations of entomologists. This article provides biographical data and a list of some of the most significant works and achievements of Oleg P. Negrobov.

New and old material of Dolichopodidae from Yakutia and Far Eastern regions of Russia has been recently identified, and includes 69 species. Amblypsilopus bouvieri (Parent, 1927) and Dolichopus bayaticus Negrobov, 1976 are found in Russia for the first time. Dolichopus uralensis Stackelberg, 1930 is recorded in the Far East, being probably the second reliable finding after description. Dolichopus hilaris Loew, 1862, Neurigona grossa Negrobov, 1987 and Poecilobothrus flaveolus (Negrobov et Chalaya, 1987) are new for the Kurile Islands. Six species are firstly recorded from the Amur Region, four from the Khabarovsky Territory, four from the Kamchatka Territory, two from Yakutia, one from Chukotka and one from the Jewish Region. This paper provides also distribution pattern for each collected species.

The results of long-term studies of the dolichopodid fauna of Sakhalin Island by Russian authors are presented in the form of an annotated list of species for the first time. For this paper, originally published localities were checked, if they were referenced, and the exact locations of some collection points were established according to the museum collections. The latter material is included into the checklist. In addition, an unpublished material of Dolichopodidae is included. New records for 36 species, including 9 species new for the Sakhalin, are presented. Campsicnemus picticornis and C. scambus, Diaphorus nigricans, Dolichopus bisetulatus, Hydrophorus brunnicosus, Nepalomyia tatjanae, Rhaphium firsovi, R. tridactylum and Syntormon monochaetus are reported from Sakhalin for the first time. Sixteen species are excluded from the fauna of the island. In total, 72 species from 18 genera of long-legged flies are listed.

A collection of long-legged flies was studied in the Laboratory of Entomology of the Federal Research Centre for Biodiversity of Terrestrial Biota of East Asia, Vladivostok. A new material was identified for the first time, collected mainly by the researchers of this laboratory in the Primorsky Territory since 1970s, as well as by Igor Ya. Grichanov during his visit to Vladivostok in 2021. Unidentified material from some other scientific institutions is also included in the list. In total, new records are given for 73 species of long-legged flies. Hercostomus rohdendorfi Stackelberg, 1933 is transferred to the genus Gymnopternus (comb.n.). Mesorhaga janata Negrobov, 1984 is placed in synonymy with Amblypsilopus pilosus (Negrobov, 1979) (syn.n.). Dolichophorus immaculatus, Dolichopus henanus, D. kumazawai, Hercostomus beijingensis, Rhaphium dorsiseta, and R. mediocre are found for the first time in Russia. Chrysotus caerulescens, Hydrophorus albiceps, Rhaphium fascipes and Syntormon violovitshi are reported from Primorye for the first time. The finding of Dolichopus griseifacies is the first reliable record from Primorye. In total, 215 species from 31 genera of Dolichopodidae are known in the regional fauna.

A new material of Dolichopodidae has been recently collected in Bastak Nature Reserve, and includes 8 species (all species are found for the first time in the Reserve and in the Jewish Autonomous Region). In total, 20 species are reported in this region, which apparently makes up 20–25% of actual Dolichopodidae regional fauna. 11 species found in the Jewish Region are only reported in the East Palaearctic Region. Some of them are rare, known earlier only in Primorye (Dolichopus longisetus, Gymnopternus nemorum, Medetera stylata and Rhaphium nuortevai). This paper also provides a distribution pattern for each collected species.

For this paper, originally published localities were checked, if they were referenced, and the exact locations of some collection points were established according to the museum collections. The latter material is included into the checklist. In addition, a new material of Dolichopodidae is included, collected by Dr. O. Kosterin in 2020. Hydrophorus cinipunctus and Hydrophorus viridis are reported from Primorye for the first time. Findings of Dolichopus campestris, Hydrophorus freyi, Medetera stackelbergiana and Sciapus nervosus are the first reliable records from Primorye. In total, 204 species from 30 genera of long-legged flies are listed.

A new species, Thrypticus mongoliensis Negrobov, Selivanova et Maslova, sp. n. is described from Mongolia. According to the Palaearctic table of Negrobov, Stackelberg, published in 1971, the new species is close to the Thrypticus atomus Frey, differing in the form and chetotaxy of surstyli. Thrypticus atomus has straight surstyli, with 6 bristles and hairs at apex, while the new species has curved surstyli, more than 40 setae and hairs. On the morphology of the hypopygium, the new species is close to Thrypticus smaragdinus Gerstaecker, 1864, differing in the structure and chetotaxy of the surstyli, including curved and broadened at the base of the surstyli. Three species are listed for the fauna of Mongolia for the first time: Thrypticus intercedens Negrobov, 1967, Thrypticus emiliae Negrobov, 1971 in Negrobov et Stackelberg, 1971 and Thrypticus politus Negrobov, 1967. Thrypticus cuneatus (Becker, 1917) is recorded for the central part of the European part of Russia for the first time. Thrypticus bellus Loew, 1869 are indicated for the faunas of Karelia, Rostov and Lipetsk regions, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan for the first time. Thrypticus virescens Negrobov 1967 and Thrypticus laetus Verrall, 1912 are new records for Ryazan Region

A comparative analysis was conducted on wing-vein landmarks on 81 species belonging to 27 genera of 11 subfamilies of the family Dolichopodidae for estimating relationships between wing shape and phylogeny. Wing shape was investigated by using the geometric morphometric technique. We used principal components analysis in order to description of wing shape variation among species and subfamilies. To estimate a degree of homoplasy wing shape variation were mapped onto the specific-level phylogenetic tree based on the COI gene (810 characters). Pagel’s lambda was used to quantify the phylogenetic signal in wing traits. The analyses demonstrated that the differences among subfamilies were generally associated with changes of R1 length, movement of posterior crossvein and tips of R4+5 and М1+2. The comparative analysis with outgroup taxon allowed for the determination of the evolutionary trends in the family and undertaking a character polarity of wing characters. The analysis revealed that wing shape and size have high phylogenetic signal. The result of our study demonstrated the monophyly of Dolichopodidae subfamily; however there was some degree of homoplasy: the species of the subfamilies, which were not closely relates (Hydrophorinae, Medeterinae and Sciapodinae) tend to have a similar wing shape. The Dolichopodidae (Diptera) species of the Dolichopus lepidus Staeger, 1842 species group are revised. The lectotype of Dolichopus lepidus microstigma Stackelberg, 1930 is designated. This taxon is interpreted here as a separate species Dolichopus microstigma stat. n.; it is redescribed and figured. Three new species are described: Dolichopus nigricercus sp. n. from Sakhalin, Primorye, Magadan Region and Kamchatka (Russia), Dolichopus longicercus sp. n. from Kamchatka, Primorye, Irkutsk Region (Russia) and Kazakhstan, Dolichopus barkalovi sp. n. from Khabarovsk Region (Russia). A new material for the genus Telmaturgus Mik, 1874 has been recently collected and/or identified. The present research gives new records, including T. munroi (Curran, 1925) found for the first time in the Republic of Cameroon and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Telmaturgus silvestris sp. n. from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and T. mulleri sp. n. from the Republic of South Africa are described. The new species differ from other members of the genus in modification and setation of male fore and mid tarsi mainly.

New material of Dolichopodidae has been recently collected and identified, with 41 species (25 species new for the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Region, seven species found for the first time in West Siberia, and two species new for Siberia). Campsicnemus alpinus and Nematoproctus longifilus are found outside Europe for the first time. New records of five species (Dolichopus lancearius, D. setiger, D. subpennatus, Rhaphium tibiale, Thrypticus atomus) fill gaps between European and East Siberian areas of these species. In total, 64 species are recorded in this region, which apparently make up 40–50% of actual Dolichopodidae fauna in the Khanty-Mansi Region. This paper provides a distribution pattern for each collected species.

First addition to the Afrotropical Dolichopodoidae (Diptera) Catalogue (2018) includes new species, new synonyms published in 2018–2020 and a few missing species published earlier. Syntormoneura Curran, 1926 syn. nov. is newly synonymised with Telmaturgus Mik, 1874. Syntormon pallipes longistylus Grichanov, 2001 is raised to a species level, Syntormon longistylus Grichanov, 2001 (stat. nov.). The addition of one subfamily, one tribe and 38 species and exclusion of three species (Campsicnemus armatus, Condylostylus congensis, Orthoceratium lacustre) result in a new total of 810 dolichopodoid species and subspecies in the Afrotropical fauna.

During recent surveys conducted in Morocco, many species of Dolichopodidae (Diptera, Brachycera) new for the country have been collected. In this paper a review of Moroccan Sciapus Zeller, 1842 fauna is given. Sciapus heteropygus Parent, 1926 and S. holoxanthos Parent, 1926 are found in the country for the first time. An annotated checklist of Moroccan fauna is compiled, including 9 species. In addition, available information on geographical distribution for each species is included.

The Baltic amber genus Palaeomedeterus Meunier, 1894 (Diptera: Dolichopodidae) is redescribed and assigned to the subfamily Peloropeodinae. The genus Gheynia Meunier, 1899, syn. n. is placed in synonymy with Palaeomedeterus. Palaeochrysotus ignavus Meunier, 1907 is designated as the type species of Palaeomedeterus. The previous designation of “Tipula culiciforme Meunier, 1899” (nomen nudum) as the type species of Palaeomedeterus is considered invalid. In addition, the names Dolichopus soccata Meunier, 1899 and Diaphorus fernandi Meuffels et Grootaert, 1999 are also considered nomina nuda. Palaeomedeterus bifurcatus (Meunier, 1907), comb. n. (from Gheynia), P. ignavus (Meunier, 1907) and P. lassatus (Meunier, 1907) are redescribed. The genus Palaeomedeterus is similar to the extant genera of the subfamily Peloropeodinae, but it does not demonstrate any apomorphic character established for the extant genera. A key for males of seven species of Palaeomedeterus known from Baltic amber (Eocene / Oligocene) is given.

Original data on five Dolichopodidae species from the Wrangel Island resulted from the 2006 and 2015 surveys in the Wrangel Island State Nature Reserve are presented. Two sites in the northern variant of the typical tundra subzone in the central part of the Wrangel (i.e. the middle course of the River Mamontovaya and the upper reaches of the River Neizvestnaya) have been thoroughly studied by use of net sweeping (both seasons) and yellow pan traps (only 2015). In total, about 780 specimens have been sampled on the Wrangel Island. The yellow pan traps have gathered the most part of material, i.e. about 650 specimens. One of the collected species, Dolichopus humilis appears to be the only circum-arctic species of the group. Other species, Chrysotus komovi, Dolichopus terminasianae, Hydrophorus alpinus, and Rhamphium beringiense have mainly a hypoarctic distribution. The latter is the rarest species in the material obtained. It is suggested that the high abundance of dolichopodids during the 2015 survey is related to favourable summer weather conditions due to climate warming since the beginning of the 21st century. Chrysotus komovi and Dolichopus terminasianae are recorded for the first time from the Chukotka Autonomous District. Photographs of habitus and habitats for species recorded from the Wrangel Island are provided.

Diostracus (Lagodechia) kabaki sp. n. from China is described. Diostracus filiformis Zhu, Masunaga, Yang, 2007 from Yunnan and D. nishiyamai Saigusa, 1995 from Guizhou, Hunan and Sichuan are associated with the subgenus Lagodechia Negrobov, et Tsurikov, 1996, and D. brevabdominalis Zhu, Masunaga, Yang, 2007 from Yunnan – with the subgenus Diostracus Loew, 1861. During recent short-term surveys conducted in the Novgorod Region of Russia, 17 species of Dolichopodidae (Diptera, Brachycera, Dolichopodidae) were collected. Argyra argyria (Meigen, 1824), Campsicnemus curvipes (Fallen, 1823), Dolichopus cilifemoratus Macquart, 1827, Gymnopternus brevicornis (Staeger, 1842), Hydrophorus brunnicosus Loew, 1857, Sympycnus aeneicoxa (Meigen, 1824), Syntormon bicolorellus (Zetterstedt, 1843) and Telmaturgus tumidulus (Raddatz, 1873) were recorded in Novgorod Region for the first time. An annotated checklist of Novgorod regional fauna was compiled, including 14 genera and 44 species. In addition, current information on the geographical distribution for each species was included in the checklist.

This paper provides distributional records for 18 long-legged fly species (Diptera, Brachycera, Dolichopodidae) belonging to 12 genera in Morocco. Four of these species (Diaphorus vitripennis Loew, 1859, Muscidideicus praetextatus (Haliday, 1855), Aphrosylus mitis Verrall, 1912 and Micromorphus aff. minusculus Negrobov, 2000) are newly recorded in the fauna of Morocco. In addition, available data on geographical distribution for each species is presented.

Изучено систематическое положение таксонов Syntormon pallipes и S. pseudospicatus. Отмечается внутривидовая изменчивость признаков, которые ранее использовались для различения этих таксонов. S. pseudospicatus следует считать синонимом S. pallipes. Приводятся новые данные по фауне S. pallipes России и сопредельных территорий. Впервые этот вид отмечается для Архангельской области России и Туркмении. Впервые исследована морфология гипопигия и отмечена его индивидуальная изменчивость.

Background. As taxonomic character of wing venation in dolichopodid flies is often used in taxonomic studies, more detailed observation including variation in shape and pattern of sexual dimorphism between different generations and between sides of individuals has the potential to shed light on evolutionary trends in the family. Materials and methods. A geometric morphometric analysis was conducted to examine the patterns of wing shape variation in the individual population of Poecilobothrus regalis (Meigen, 1824). ANOVA was used to estimate significance of differences among generations, sexes and sides. CVA was performed to allocate these differences. Degree of asymmetry was computed as difference between sizes of left and right wings. Assessment of differences between values of asymmetry in the groups was taken using t-test. Results. An analysis of the data using the Procrustes method found significant intergenerational differences in wing size and shape, and it was shown that the intergenerational shape variation was partly explained by the allometry. Statistic comparison of the amount and pattern of sexual shape dimorphism among three generations reveals no significant differences. In three cases, significant directional asymmetry was found. Conclusion. A comparison of the intergenerational and intra-generational pattern of shape variation and variation, attributed to directional asymmetry, showed their considerable correspondence. There was no significant evidence that level of fluctuating asymmetry may be a measure of the ability of individuals to cope with environmental conditions.

Three new species of the genus Dolichopus: D. ibarakiensis Negrobov, Kumazawa, Tago, sp. n., D. tokyoensis Negrobov, Kumazawa, Tago, sp. n. and D. vicfursovi Negrobov, Kumazawa, Tago, sp. n. are described from Japan. New species are close to Dolichopus smirnovianus, and can be distinguished from the latter by the following characters: wing stigma elongate and welldeveloped, hind basitarsus mostly yellow, with 3 strong setae and different morphology of hypopygium.

The new species Paraclius japonensis sp. n. and Paraclius variegatus sp. n. from Japan are described. An identification key to all species of the genus Paraclius for Palaearctic region is also presented. Paraclius argenteus Negrobov, 1984 is indicated for the first time for Japan

A new species Cyrturella nigrosetosa Grichanov, sp. n. is described from Egypt. It differs from the nominotypical species C. albosetosa (Strobl, 1909) by the following complex of characters: head and thorax with blackish brown major bristles; acrostichals small but distinct, scutellum with two pairs of setae; legs yellow-brown; hind basitarsus distinctly longer than next segment; fore tarsus short

Hercostomus vodjanovi Negrobov, Maslova et Selivanova, sp. n. from Tajikistan is described. The new species is similar to Hercostomus crassiseta Yang et Saigusa, 2001 but differs by the structure of hypopygium, oblongoval epandrium, which length is 1.8 times greater than its width, the top of the phallus with the odontoid process, and to Hercostomus nanus (Macquart, 1827), from which it differs by the structure of cerci, chaetotaxy of mid tibia and long 3rd antennal segment.

Forty signs of the morphology of head, wings, thorax, abdomen, legs and genitals for the morphological comparative analysis of subfamilies of Dolichopodidae (Diptera) were allocated. The carried-out hierarchical clustering allowed to construct dendrograms of subfamilies and to analyses its phylogenic situation

A new long-legged fly species Dolichopus kosterini sp.nov. from Khakassia is described and illustrated. The new species belongs to the Dolichopus latipennis group and appears to be quite distinct in having mostly yellow antenna with relatively short scape and pedicel, in bearing long apicoventral seta on fore tibia, in rather distant from apex position of anterior preapical bristle on hind femur.

The new species Chrysotus cilitibia Maslova et Negrobov, sp. n. from Sakhalin and Kuril Islands is described. The new species is close to Chrysotus gramineus, differing in color of legs, longer hairs on hind tibia, shape of the epandrium and morphology of the apical part of the phallus. The new species differs from Chrysotus pulchellus in longer hairs on hind tibia and shorter 3rd antennal segment.

The new species from Japan Dolichopus kumazawai Maslova, Negrobov et Fursov, sp. n. is described. The species is close to Dolichopus vaillanti Parent, 1927 and can be distinguished from latter by wings without stigma, postpedicel 1.7 times greater than its width, hind basitarsus mostly yellow.

Type specimen of Dolichopus sagittarius Loew, 1848, D. reichardti Stackelberg, 1930, D. grunini Smirnov, 1948 and D. portentosus Negrobov, 1973 are examined and male genitalia are illustrated for the first time. The genus Telmaturgus Mik is reviewed. It comprises eighteen species including a new species Telmaturgus congensis sp. n. from DR Congo. A check list of species of this genus and a revised key to Afrotropical species are provided. The following new combinations are proposed: Lamprochromus belousovi (Grichanov, 2008), comb. n. (from Sympycnus), Telmaturgus abidjanensis (Grichanov, 2008), comb. n., T. garambaensis (Grichanov, 2008), comb. n., T. kenyensis (Grichanov, 2008), comb. n., T. kovali (Grichanov, 2008), comb. n., T. kwandensis (Grichanov, 2008), comb. n., T. mastigomyoformis (Grichanov, 2008), comb. n., T. munroi (Curran, 1925), comb. n., T. pseudoviolaceus (Grichanov, 2008), comb. n., T. triseta (Grichanov, 2008), comb. n., T. uzungwa (Grichanov, 2008), comb. n. (all from Sympycnus).

The descriptions of unknown females of species Dolichopus jacutensis Stackelberg, 1929, Dolichopus amurensis Stackelberg, 1930 and Dolichopus angustipennis Kertesz, 1901 are given. The females of species Dolichopus amurensis and Dolichopus bisetulatus Negrobov, 1977 are inserted into the key of Palaearctic region for the first time.

Two new species Dolichopus zakhvatkini sp. n. from Azerbaijan and Dolichopus naglisi sp. n. from Tajikistan are described. The type specimens Dolichopus salictorum Loew, 1871 is redescribed, including a study of morphology of the hypopygium. Dolichopus salictorum for Ukraine, Dolichopus violovitshi for Sakhalin are recorded for the first time. A key to group of species of Dolichopus salictorum is made.

A new genus, Medeterites gen. n. (Diptera: Dolichopodidae: Medeterinae) is described from Baltic amber with one included species, Medeterites molestus (Meunier, 1907) (Thrypticus), comb. n. The genus is similar to the genera of the subfamily Medeterinae, but having such plesiomorphic characters as big palpus, lack of acrostichals, legs devoid of long bristles, wing with long R1 and straight and subparallel R4+5 and M1+2, globular epandrium, big and rounded circus, etc. A key is compiled to all dolichopodid genera from Baltic amber with apical arista-like stylus.

The Rhaphium crassipes species group in the Palearctic Region is defined and reviewed. It comprises 13 species including one new species. The species group is differentiated from other Rhaphium by the male mid tarsomeres 4 and 5, which are black, dilated and flattened dorsoventrally. New species Rh. samarkandiense Negrobov et Grichanov, sp. n. from Uzbekistan is described. Rh. johnrichardi Negrobov et Grichanov, nom. nov. (new name for Rh. vockerothi Negrobov, 1979 nec Robinson, 1964) is firstly described and illustrated. Rh. viklundi Grichanov, 2004 is placed in synonymy to Systenus bipartitus (Loew, 1850) (syn. n.). A key to the species group is provided, as well as new records for known species.

Two new species and one new subspecies are described and new records for the type species of the genus Euxiphocerus Parent, 1935, notes on its systematic position in the family are provided. The genus comprises now three afrotropical species, Euxiphocerus wulfi Parent, 1935, Euxiphocerus disjunctus Grichanov, sp. n. and Euxiphocerus savannensis Grichanov, sp. n. (with a subspecies Euxiphocerus savannensis capensis Grichanov, subsp. n.). A revised key to all Afrotropical genera of Medeterinae is also presented. The genera Euxiphocerus and Systenus Loew, 1857, are considered in a tribe Systenini Robinson, 1970 (stat. nov.).

The genus Epithalassius Mik, 1891 is reviewed, illustrated and keyed, and includes seven species, one of them newly described: E. susmani sp. n. from Israel. A checklist of the Epithalassius fauna is provided along with notes on selected species and genus position. E. corsicanus Becker, 1910 is first recorded from Israel. A new tribe Epithalassiini, tribus novus, is proposed in the subfamily Hydrophorinae. A key to tribes of the subfamily is also compiled

Male Hercostomus phoebus Parent, 1927 hitherto known only from female is described for the first time. Two new synonyms are proposed: Dolichopus thalhammeri Knézy, 1929 (=Dolichopus balius Meuffels, 1982, syn. n.); Tachytrechus beckeri Lichtwardt, 1917 (=Tachytrechus gussakovskii Stackelberg, 1941, syn. n.). New records for 48 dolichopodid species collected in Turkey are given. The fauna of the region comprises now 69 species

Для изучения параметрической системы двукрылых семейства Dolichopodidae (Diptera) были рассмотрены 280 видов, принадлежащих к 207 родам семейства, а также 18 видов из более примитивных таксонов. Учитывались признаки количества пар дорсоцентральных щетинок, количества рядов акростихальных щетинок и относительная длина третьего членика усиков. Сравнительный анализ морфологии Dolichopodidae с другими таксонами позволил выделить апоморфные и плезиоморфные признаки. Построение параметрической матрицы семейства позволило выделить таксономические границы подсемейств, а также выявить основные эволюционные тенденции в морфологии третьего членика усиков и хетотаксии груди.
