В статье рассматривается влияние художественной литературы на формирование образа полицейского. The present study is devoted to the analysis of the influence of fiction on the formation of the image of a policeman. The urgency of the study consists in the fact that conflictogeneity and aggressiveness of the modern world bring about the growing significance of the law enforcement officers, turn this profession into one of the central occupations in the Russian society, and suggest a wide range of expectations from the representatives of the law enforcement agencies.

Цель исследования - изучить читательскую грамотность и степень ознакомления студентов с произведениями А. П. Чехова. Актуальность исследования объясняется необходимостью изучения читательской грамотности в студенческой среде.

В статье рассказывается о яснополянской усадьбе, которая известна в связи с именем Л. Н. Толстого. Сохранившееся культурно-историческое пространсто ценно еще и как объект изучения принципа обустройста поместья в русской провинции.

The article attempts at analyzing the scientific problems included in the works of the famous scholar from Voronezh State University Vladislav Anatol’evich Svitel’skiy about the creative activity of A. Platonov. The scholar’s studies before and after the abolition of strict censorship outlined the benchmarks in the investigation of the writer’s legacy, which have not always been properly interpreted in modern science. The urgency of the paper consists in reestablishing a true dialogue with the works of the literary critics, who were among the first to describe the writer’s artistic world, and in revealing adequate interpretations of their ideas. Methodologically, the article is based on the theoretical views of V. A. Svitel’skiy, stemming from the nature of the talent of the great scholar from Voronezh. The scholar focuses on the principles of philosophical-poetical generalization in the prose of Platonov, the image of the author and the means of expression of the author’s position under the conditions of creation of censored works, the genre nature of “Chevengur”, his gender specificity, “participation” of the lyrical dominant in the modeling of the democratic consciousness in the novel as one of the great achievements of Platonov’s artistic talent. The retrospective approach made it possible to concentrate attention on the urgency of a number of Svitel’skiy’s ideas in the contemporary Platonov studies and to simultaneously realize the modern tendencies in the study of the writer’s legacy and their perspectives. The conclusions of the article are based on the detailed study of the papers written by Svitel’skiy and the works of the scholars developing his ideas, as well as on his activity as editor and publisher. He was editor-in-chief of the “Philological Notes” of Voronezh University founded by A. A. Khovanskiy in 1860. He initiated the creation of the “Platonov Vestnik”, an information bulletin, which reflected the “new findings” of foreign scholars about Platonov. Due to his continuous effort, the number of scholars from various countries engaged in serious studies of Platonov’s texts grew considerably to include H. Günther (Germany), T. Langerak (Netherlands), M. Liubushkina-Koch (France), etc. The reflections about the fate of scientific ideas and their implementation in real life are mentioned in Svitel’skiy’s letters. Their author is a real Teacher – a clever and a patient one.

The article examines the versions of "mechanical" people in the works of A. Platonov and traces their origin and subsequent process of development. The methodological basis of the study is made up by the works interpreting Platonov's creative activity from the positions of the following scientific approaches: the contextualapproach (M. M. Bakhtin, V. E. Khalizev), according to which meanings generated by extra-textual reality are important for this research and the motif-centered approach (B. M. Gasparov, M. Ya. Polyakov), based on the principle of leitmotif narrative composition.

Lotman as well as the significance of his works for structural semiotics in literary criticism of the 20th century.

Статья посвящена проблеме восприятия И. С. Тургеневым английской литературы. В центре внимания находится драматическое творчество Э. Бульвера-Литтона, ставшее объектом творческой рефлексии русского писателя. The article deals with Ivan Turgenev's attitude to English Literature. The focus of the study is on the comic play of Edward Bulwer-Lytton, which became the object of the Russian writer's reflection in 1840s, firstly, as a reader and later as a creator.

В статье рассматривается роль Ю. Лотмана в создании семиотической школы и значение его трудов в области структурализма. The article considers the role of Lotman in the creation of the Tartu-Moscow semiotic school and the significance of the works of Lotman in the field of structuralism, as well as possible reasons for the scientific evolution of Lotman from the study of the history of literature and the structure of the literary text to the investigation of culture as a dynamic process and as a manifestation of the complex interaction between cultural texts and cultural codes.

The article investigates the nature of the influence of sentimental naturalism, or the "school of theyoung Dostoevsky" on the work of early Turgenev. The object of the study includes two texts - Dostoevsky's novel “Poor Folk”, the central novel in the Russian literature of the 1840s, and Turgenev's comedy “The Bachelor”.

В статье рассматривается использование Ю. М. Лотманом концепции тернарной системы, которая является ответом на ограничения семиотических моделей, основанных на бинарных оппозициях. The paper will explore Yurii M. Lotman's uses of the concept of a ternary system. It is born as a response to the limitations of the semiotic models based on binary oppositions. At the same time, binaries for Lotman are closely connected to Russia's cultural dynamic, and therefore, this seemingly “pure” theoretical concept appears heavily charged with political meanings.

The article analyzes some works of modern literature for children and adolescents, the system of images of which actualizes the most intricate complex of relationships between three generations.

Gogol and M. A. Bulgakov. Absurd is interpreted by the author of the article from the content-formal positions: both as the absence of meaning (absurdity, nonsense), and as a form of transformation of meaning determined by the author's goal setting (carnivalization of utterance).

В статье на примере книги В. М. Дорошевича рассматриваются два разных мира на Сахалине конца XIX века: с одной стороны, мир каторжан и поселенцев, а с другой - мир администрации тюрем. The article presents the results of a study of a doctor's speech portrait in the book "Sakhalin" by V. M. Doroshevich. Penal servitude discourse functions in the book as one of the variants of political discourse, which is usually controlled by the authorities. Doroshevich shows two different worlds on Sakhalin at the end of the 19th century: the world of convicts and settlers on the one hand, and the world of prison administration and the island authorities that opposes them, on the other.

The paper focuses primarily on the image of the main character of B. Akunin'sAkunin's series of detective novels often referred to as Fandorin cycle, portrayed in the last underresearched novels All the World's a Stage, The Black City and Not Saying Goodbye. A review of the studies of literary criticism and academic research on Akunin's work has revealed that the basic principles of his poetics include intertextuality and the use of gamebased strategies.

It is shown that Bunin's short story seems to lead a dialogue with the novel by F. M. Dostoevsky "The Karamazov Brothers".

In the mind of the native speaker, there is an idea of the syntactic "optimum", which allows them touse linguistic units most effectively to achieve a desired communicative effect. It contains a set of pieces of intuitive ("naïve") knowledge about the parameters of the sentence, the organization of its structure, the rules of correspondence of lexical and grammatical meanings, etc.

The article addresses one of the most important Goncharov's characters - Mark Volokhov from the novel The Precipice. It is argued that Goncharov deliberately created ambiguous image of the character, ironicallyforcing the negative superficial impression.

Статья посвящена сложносокращенным словам, которые в изобилии возникли в русском языке после Октябрьской революции и, соответственно, получили отражение в художественной литературе 1920-х гг. The present research is a part of a large-scale project aimed at a comprehensive study of early 20th cen-tury Russian short stories and based on the Russian Short Stories Corpus currently containing several thousand texts. A sample of 310 stories has been selected to serve as a testbed for the analysis of language and style of the epochdeals with syllable acronyms that became abundant after the October revolution of 1917 and were widely used in the Russian literature of the 1920s.

The first part of this article argues that Lifshitz's 1930s polemic against pseudo-Marxist "vulgarizers" in Soviet letters, as well as his lifelong championing of ideologically problematic, sometimes explicitlyantiprogressivist authors, whom he called the "great conservatives of humanity,” should be understood as a subjective" intellectual practice of "free spiritual production" through which the philosopher-critic hoped to further the Russian Revolution's emancipatory ideals while working within the strictures of Stalinism.

В статье рассматривается степень влияния романных идей И. А. Гончарова на романное творчество И. С. Тургенева. The article proposes to correct the idea of the "Goncharov school" in Turgenev's practice and determine the boundaries and degree of influence of Goncharov's novel ideas on Turgenev's novels. It is shown that by the time of close ommunicationbetween the two writers in 1855, Turgenev was not disoriented as a novelist.

В статье рассматривается как бытовое время в календарной хронологии романа "Преступление и наказание" претворяется в качественное духовное бытие. Applying the method of Orthodox axeology, the present work tries to answer the following question: how the everyday time (chronos) in the calendar chronology of the novel "Crime and Punishment" is transformed into a qualitative spiritual being (kairos). The possibility of changing the ideological discourse in Dostoevsky's work frompagan to Christian through the influence of the hagiographic corps of Cheti Minei is studied. It is shown how the biographical texts, intended for reading on a specific date, coinciding with the calendar time from the development of the novel plot, influence the change of thoughts and actions of a given character and explain the inner meaning of the event.

The material under study includes the surviving draft materials for the novella.

Автор статьи фактически впервые в литературоведении обращается к образу усадьбы в творчестве Л. Толстого, показывая динамику взглядов писателя на усадебную жизнь. For the first time in literary criticism, the author of the article turns her attention to the image of the estate in Tolstoy's later artistic work, showing the dynamics of the writer's views on estate life, the image of an ideal estate.

The importance of the problem statement is associated with the specifics of the material under study. Fragmentation, discontinuity of spatial-temporal relations, alternation of points of view, nonlinearity of the organization of B. Pasternak's 1910-1920 prose complicate the process of adequate interpretation of the text, which requires the reader to concentrate attention and go back several times to check the relevance of under-standing.
