The article objective is to study a new League Championship Algorithm (LCA) algorithm efficiency by its comparing with the efficiency of the Particle Swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm.The article presents a brief description of the terms used in the League Championship algorithm, describes the basic rules of the algorithm, on the basis of which the iterative process for solving the global optimization problem is built.Gives a detailed description of the League Championship algorithm, which comprises a flowchart of the algorithm, as well as a formalization of all its main steps.Depicts an exhaustive description of the software developed to implement the League Championship algorithm to solve global optimization problems.Briefly describes the modified particle swarm algorithm. Presents the values of all free parameters of the algorithm and the algorithm modifications, which make it different from the classical version, as well.The main part of the article shows the results of a great deal of computational experiments using two abovementioned algorithms. All the performance criteria, used for assessment of the algorithms efficiency, are given.Computational experiments were performed using the spherical function, as well as the Rosenbrock, Rastrigin, and Ackley functions. The results of the experiments are summarized in Tables, and also illustrated in Figures. Experiments were performed for the vector dimension of the variable parameters that is equal to 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, and 64.An analysis of the results of computational experiments involves a full assessment of the efficiency of the League Championship algorithm, and also provides an answer about expediency for further algorithm development.It is shown that the League Championship algorithm presented in the article has a high development potential and needs further work for its study.

The relevance of testing of memory devices of modern computing systems is shown. The methods and algorithms for implementing test procedures based on classical March tests are analyzed. Multiple March tests are highlighted to detect complex pattern-sensitive memory faults. To detect them, the necessary condition that test procedures must satisfy to deal complex faults, is substantiated. This condition is in the formation of a pseudo-exhaustive test for a given number of arbitrary memory cells. We study the effectiveness of single and double application of tests like MATS ++, March C– and March A, and also give its analytical estimates for a different number of k ≤ 10 memory cells participating in a malfunction. The applicability of the mathematical model of the combinatorial problem of the coupon collector for describing multiple memory testing is substantiated. The values of the average, minimum, and maximum multiplicity of multiple tests are presented to provide an exhaustive set of binary combinations for a given number of arbitrary memory cells. The validity of analytical estimates is experimentally shown and the high efficiency of the formation of a pseudo-exhaustive coverage by tests of the March A type is confirmed.

Introduction. Perfect polyphase unimodular sequences, i. e. sequences with ideal periodic autocorrelation and single amplitude of symbols are widely used in modern radio communications and radar. A special place among them is occupied by perfect ternary sequences (PTSs) with elements {–1, 0, 1}. In fact, these are binary sequences with the alphabet {–1, 1}, but with zero symbols in some positions. It is known that PTSs are quite numerous and their length in comparison with perfect binary sequences is not limited from above. The charge for this is a peak factor greater than one, which causes energy losses in the receiver. A large number of research papers and books are devoted to the design of PTSs and the study of their properties. In particular, the handbook on sequence design by Fan and Darnell (1996) which provides an overview of the then known PTS families has become widely famous. However, over the past two decades, numerous new PTS families were discovered, some theorems on their existence were obtained, and connections were established between them and circulant weighing matrices. Therefore, there is a need for a new review of existing PTSs.Objective. The article is devoted to a retrospective review of existing PTSs and their generation devices.Materials and methods. Considered and analyzed domestic and foreign sources of information (books, journal papers, conference proceedings, patents).Results. Along with solving an informational bibliographic problem, the review shows the relationship between PTSs obtained at different times, their connection with circulant weighing matrices, and also describes the block diagrams of generators of some PTS families.Conclusion. A brief retrospective review of PTSs for their almost 60 years history is presented and the generators of some PTS families are considered. The results of the study are relevant for use in modern radio communications and radar systems and in particular, in CW and LPI radars.
