The article discusses physiotherapists' perception of the use of the Kangaroo Method during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research was conducted with 8 female physiotherapists working in Neonatal Units. The results showed that 75% of the participants claimed to have knowledge about the benefits of the Kangaroo Method, but only 50% reported that its implementation was guaranteed during the pandemic. Among the reported barriers, the closure of the Neonatal Unit due to Covid-19 referrals was mentioned by 30% of the physiotherapists. The article discusses the adherence of mothers to the outpatient follow-up of the Kangaroo Method, a family-centered care program for premature babies. The study evaluated maternal perception of their participation in the initial stages of the method and adherence to outpatient follow-up. The results showed that, although mothers have a high perception of participation in the initial stages, only 7.4% of premature babies attended outpatient appointments, indicating low adherence. A negative correlation was observed between maternal perception and adherence to outpatient follow-up, as well as with the low level of education of the mothers. It is concluded that it is important to invest in accessible and continuous guidance to raise awareness among mothers about the importance of active participation in outpatient follow-up and strengthen the need for referral of premature babies.
