O presente artigo explora questões referentes ao modus operandi da história oral, considerando suas intersecções com a etnografia. Para tal, será abordada a experiência de campo na coleta das narrativas memorialísticas do artista plástico Sandoval Fagundes. Este atua como importante personagem em episódios na trajetória da “arte urbana” pessoense dos anos 1980. Realizou murais e outras intervenções em protesto à caça e o esquartejamento de baleias praticadas no município de Lucena/PB. Desse modo, além de investigar traços antropológicos da história oral, o artigo promove reflexões acerca da prática da antropologia fílmica e do uso de aparelhos tecnológicos no trabalho de campo. Outros pontos abordados tratam da transcrição do material oral recolhido, da análise dos lapsos e silêncios. Em sua parte final, propicia um contato direto com a narrativa do artista sobre o tema. This article explores questions regarding the modus operandi of oral history, considering its intersections with ethnography. For that, will be approached the field experience in collecting the memorialistic narratives of the plastic artist Sandoval Fagundes. He acts as an important character in episodes of the trajectory of the "urban art" in the 1980s. Realized murals and other interventions in protest of the hunting and dismembering of whales practiced in the municipality of Lucena/PB. Thereby, in addition to investigate anthropological traces of oral history, the article promotes reflections about the practice of filmic anthropology and the use of technological devices in the field work. Other points dealt with the transcription of oral material collected, the analysis of lapses and silences. In the final part, it provides a direct contact with the narrative of the artist about the theme.
