Soybean cultivation has a huge importance in the world economy, but the interference of weeds can affect negatively its productivity. For the weeds control, the use of pre-emergent herbicides has become a good tool, but its dynamics in the environment is influenced by the characteristics of the environment, soil and physicochemical conditions of the molecule and its use may cause a carryover effect in subsequent cultures. The commercial mixture of the herbicides imazapyr + imazapic belongs to the chemical group of imidazolinones and their behaviour in the soil is influenced by several factors, among them, soil moisture, which affects directly their leaching The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of soil water availability on the leaching and the residual of the commercial mixture of imazapir + imazapic herbicides and the phytotoxicity of these herbicides on corn sown in succession to soybean.. The experiment was developed at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro, in Serop?dica, RJ, in leach columns, made of PVC, measuring 0.6m in length by 0.25m in diameter, arranged vertically in a greenhouse. Generalized randomized blocks design with 4 replicates was used, totalizing 36 experimental units. The treatments were arranged in a 3x3 factorial scheme, with factor A being the irrigation slides (water volume corresponding to 30% above field capacity, field capacity and 30% below field capacity) and factor B with doses of the commercial mixture of the herbicides imazapyr + imazapic 52.5 + 17.5 and 105 + 35 g ia ha-1, besides the control (without herbicide). The sowing of the soybean was carried out in the PVC columns and the application of the commercial mixture of the herbicides was immediately carried out, using a costal sprayer. At the end of the soybean cycle (120 days), the plants were collected, and immediately the columns were vertically opened. In the middle of the channels of each treatment, the maize crop (Zea mays) was sown and the other half was the watermelon (Citrullus lanatus) cv Congo as a bioindicator species. The data generated in the experiment were submitted to analysis of variance (p ? 0.05) and the means compared by the Tukey test at 5% probability. The availability of water in the soil influenced the behavior of the commercial mixture of the herbicides imazapir + imazapic. The conditions of higher soil moisture favored leaching of the herbicides and where the soil remained in drought conditions greater retention of the molecules in the soil was observed. The residual activity of the commercial mixture of the herbicides imazapir + imazapic, has changed the growth and development of the corn and watermelon plant seeded 120 days after application. A cultura da soja possui grande import?ncia na economia mundial por sua demanda e utiliza??o tanto no consumo humano, como animal. A interfer?ncias das plantas daninhas, pode afetar negativamente sua produtividade e para controle a utiliza??o de herbicidas pr?-emergentes se torna uma boa ferramenta, por?m a sua din?mica ? influenciada pelas caracter?sticas do ambiente, solo e condi??es f?sico-qu?mica da mol?cula e seu uso pode vir a causa efeito carryover em culturas subsequentes. A mistura comercial dos herbicidas imazapir+imazapic, pertence ao grupo qu?mico das imidazolinonas seu comportamento no solo ? influenciado pela umidade no solo, que afeta diretamente sua lixivia??o. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar a influ?ncia da disponibilidade de ?gua no solo na lixivia??o e o residual da mistura comercial dos herbicidas imazapir+imazapic e a fitotoxicidade destes herbicidas no milho semeado em sucess?o a soja. O experimento foi desenvolvido na Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro, Serop?dica/RJ, em colunas de lixivia??o feitas de policloreto de polivinila (PVC) medindo 0,6m de comprimento por 0,25m de di?metro, dispostas verticalmente em casa-de-vegeta??o. O delineamento utilizado foi em blocos generalizados com 4 repeti??es, totalizando 36 unidades experimentais. Os tratamentos foram dispostos em esquema fatorial 3x3, sendo o fator A as l?minas de irriga??o (volume de ?gua correspondente a 30% acima da capacidade de campo, na capacidade de campo e 30% abaixo da capacidade de campo) e o fator B as doses da mistura comercial dos herbicidas imazapir+imazapic (52,5+17,5 e 105+35 g i.a ha-1, al?m da testemunha sem herbicida). A semeadura da soja foi realizada nas colunas de PVC e imediatamente ap?s foi realizada a aplica??o da mistura comercial dos herbicidas, utilizando-se um pulverizador costal. Ao final do ciclo da soja (120 dias) foi realizada a coleta das plantas e realizada a an?lise de fluoresc?ncia da clorofila a, a altura de plantas, n?mero de vagens por planta, n?mero de gr?os por planta e massa de gr?os e imediatamente se procedeu ? abertura das colunas no sentido vertical. Na metade das canaletas de cada tratamento, foi semeada a cultura do milho (Zea mays) e na outra metade a melancia (Citrullus lanatus) cv Congo como esp?cie bioindicadora, os quais foram avaliadas fluoresc?ncia da clorofila a, altura de plantas, massa seca de parte a?rea e massa seca de raiz. Os dados gerados no experimento foram submetidos ? an?lise da vari?ncia (p ? 0,05) e as m?dias comparadas pelo teste de Tukey a 5% de probabilidade. A disponibilidade de ?gua no solo, influenciou o comportamento da mistura comercial dos herbicidas imazapir+imazapic. As condi??es de maior umidade do solo, favoreceram a lixivia??o dos herbicidas e onde o solo se permaneceu em condi??es de seca foi observada maior reten??o das mol?culas no solo. A atividade residual da mistura comercial dos herbicidas imazapir+imazapic, afetou o crescimento e desenvolvimento da planta de milho e melancia semeados 120 dias ap?s a aplica??o.
