FACEPE Aspectos da dinâmica populacional de Urotrygon microphthalmum foram estudados através de espécimes capturados entre março de 2010 e março de 2012 como fauna acompanhante da pesca de arrasto de camarão na costa do estado de Pernambuco, Brasil. O tamanho de maturidade estimado foi 187,74 e 198,73 mm de CT para machos e fêmeas, respectivamente e a fecundidade foi de 1,85 embriões/fêmea. A gestação foi estimada entre 4 e 5 meses e o ciclo reprodutivo é assincrônico e bianual. O modelo que melhor descreveu o crescimento da espécie foi o de von Bertalanffy. Houve diferenças significativas entre os sexos e os parâmetros de crescimento para machos foi L∞ = 249,18 cm, k = 0,5465, t0= -1,04 anos e para fêmeas foi L∞ = 286,01 cm, k = 0,3457, t0= -1,41 anos. A idade de maturidade para machos e fêmeas foi de 1,52 e 2,02 anos, respectivamente. Foram identificados 31 itens alimentares na dieta da espécie, a qual apresenta hábito alimentar invertívoro carcinofágico. As dietas entre machos e fêmeas mostraram-se similares e não foi verificada a mudança ontogenética da dieta. Foram observados indícios de declínio populacional a partir de cenários simulados de impacto antropogênico com níveis de mortalidade por pesca acima de 0,100. Em virtude de não apresentar valor de mercado e não existir captura dirigida a espécie, sugere-se a obrigatoriedade da devolução ao mar de indivíduos ainda vivos para assegurar a conservação da espécie. A raia U. microphthalmum é considerada como deficiente de dados segundo avaliação sobre o risco de extinção da fauna brasileira, porém estas informações associadas ao esforço de pesca atual ao qual está submetida a espécie, sugere-se que a espécie seja realocada para a categoria próxima de ameaça. Population dynamics aspects of Urotrygon microphthalmum were studied through specimens collected between March 2010 and March 2012 as bycatch of shrimp trawling in state coast of Pernambuco, Brazil. The estimated maturity size was 187.74 and 198.73 mm TL for males and females, respectively and fecundity was 1.85 embryos/female. The pregnancy was between 4 and 5 months and the reproductive cycle is asynchronous and biannual. The model that best described the growth of the species was the von Bertalanffy. There were significant differences between the sexes and the growth parameters for males was L∞ = 249.18 cm, k = 0.5465, t0 = -1.04 years and for females was L∞ = 286.01 cm, k = 0,3457, t0 = -1.41 years. The age of maturity for males and females were 1.52 and 2.02 years, respectively. We identified 31 food items in the diet of the species, which feeds mainly on crustaceans among other invertebrates. Diets between males and females were similar and there was no ontogenetic diet change verified. Evidence of population decline was observed from simulated scenarios of anthropogenic impact with fishing mortality levels above 0.100. Since this species do not show any value to local market and there is no catch directed, we suggest the mandatory discarding of still living individuals to ensure the conservation of the species. U. microphthalmum is considered data deficient second evaluation on the risk of extinction of the Brazilian fauna, but these data associated with current fishing effort which is subject to species, suggest that the species can be reallocated to the near threatened category.

The reproductive cycle of Cardisoma guanhumi was described from the analysis of seasonal variation of the gonadal maturation stages. The first maturity for both sexes was determined based on three different tests: inflexion point on the curve; relevant character (morphometry); and histological analysis (physiology). In addition, some aspects of sexual dimorphism for the population were studied. A total of 353 individuals caught in north-eastern Brazil between December 2006 and November 2007 were analysed. The sex-ratio was statistically equal (P ≥ 0.05) and the carapace width (CW) of the females ranged from 4.34 to 8.56 cm and of the males from 2.84 to 9.22 cm. Mature females with fully developed gonads begin to appear in the dry season (August) and ovigerous females occurred from November to February, suggesting that spawning occurs mainly during the rainy season. The CW of first sexual maturity for females ranged from 5.87 cm to 6.70 cm and males from 6.22 cm to 7.20 cm. The highest percentage of individuals caught were juveniles, indicating the need for a targeted effort to preserve the species.

Vertebral sections from 34 males (105–268.2 cm TL), 35 females (85–274.2 cm TL), and 36 individuals of unknown sex (68.8-256.1 cm TL) were analyzed. One 68.8 cm TL individual did not have birth ring. The index of average percentage of error (IAPE) estimated from two readings ranged from 0 to 7.69 (mean=3.88%) in the vertebrae of specimens with 1 and 14 band pairs, respectively. There were no differences (p 0.05) in the monthly marginal increment (MIR) analysis between months then we considered an annual ring deposition as other species of the Carcharhinidae family, including Carcharhinus falciformis. Ages range from 0 to 20 years. There were no differences (p 0.05) in growth between sexes. Models derived from von Bertalanffy, particularly the VBGM two phase, best represented growth for the species, which was evidenced by the lowest Akaike information criterion value. Growth parameters estimated for both sexes were L = 303 cm, k = 0.086, t0= -4.71, h=0.17, and th=11.62 with the VBGM two phase model, and L = 292 cm, k = 0.089, and t0= -4.87 with the VBGM. The VBGM was used to other analysis. Males and females mature at 10.8 and 12.5 years of age, repectively, and the age that attain 95% of the L is 30.3 years. Tubarões lombo preto, Carcharhinus falciformis (Muller e Henle, 1839) foram capturados entre outubro de 2007 a março de 2011 pela frota industrial atuando com espinhel pelágico no Atlântico sudoeste Tropical (010º W/ 035º W, 05º N/ 30º S). Foram coletadas vértebras de 105 exemplares, sendo 34 machos (105–268,2 cm CT), 35 fêmeas (85–274,2 cm CT) e 36 indivíduos de sexo não identificado (68,8-256,1 cm CT). Um indivíduo em vida livre medindo 68,8 cm CT não apresentou marca de nascimento. O índice de porcentagem de erro médio (IAPE) estimado entre dois leitores variou de 0% a 7,69% (média= 3,88%) nas vértebras de espécimens com 1 e 14 pares de bandas, respectivamente. Ao analisar o incremento marginal relativo (IMR) não se verificou diferenças (p 0,05) entre os meses, logo assumiu-se a deposição de um anel anual como utilizado para as demais espécies da família Carcharhinidae, inclusive C. falciformis. Idades variaram de 0 a 20 anos. Não houve diferenças (p 0,05) no crescimento entre os sexos. Modelos derivados de von Bertalanffy, particularmente VBGM duas fases, melhor representou o crescimento para a espécie, que foi evidenciado pelo menor valor do critério de informação de Akaike. Parâmetros de crescimento estimado foram L = 303 cm, k = 0,086, t0= 4,71, h=0,17 e th=11,62 com o VBGM duas fases e L = 292 cm, k = 0,089, and t0= -4,87 com o VBGM. O VBGM foi utilizado para as demais análises. Machos e fêmeas maturam com 10,8 e 12,5 anos, respectivamente e a idade com que atingem 95% do L é 30,3 anos.

The interviews were carried out in the ports of Piúma, from July 2017 to June 2018, totaling 163 questionnaires. Data collection focused on the six ports of greatest fishing activity distributed in the municipality. In this study we seek to describe the fishing gear practiced associating them with the captured species. The fishing gear recorded were pargueira, surface longline, midwater and bottom, gillnet, trawl and seine. Fishing gear aimed at target species proved to be very specific and always aimed at those of greater commercial value, with the exception of the bottom longline, which showed a similar capture rate for several species, making it difficult to identify a target species for this gear. fishing. The result of this study drew attention in relation to the capture of elasmobranch in a certain fishing gear, before this exposed data were analyzed referring to the effort and the capture of swordfish (Xiphias gladius), mako (Isurus oxyrinchus) and blue shark (Prionace glauca ), obtained from fishing landings by the artisanal mid-water longline fleet operating in Southeast Brazil. Comparing the percentage contribution of these species, it is observed that swordfish presented the highest contribution (55%). Mannequin was the second species with the highest representation in terms of total weight landed (24%). The blue shark presented 9% of contribution, together the sharks represented about 33% of the total captured. This high catch of sharks as incidental fishing may be related to the type of hook used by the fleet associated with the steel cable. In order for sustainable targeted fishing to occur, it is important that some attitudes are taken, the way in which the mid-water longline is used may need some adjustments in the form of action so that species in endangered status can recover without the pressure of fishing continues to happen implicitly. Entre os anos de 2017 e 2018 foi realizado um levantamento da atividade pesqueira marinha no município de Piúma, Espírito Santo, sudeste do Brasil. As entrevistas foram realizadas nos portos de Piúma, no período de julho de 2017 a junho 2018, totalizando 163 questionários. A coleta de dados se concentrou nos seis portos de maior atividade pesqueira distribuídos no município. Neste estudo procuramos descrever as artes de pesca praticadas associando-as as espécies capturadas. As artes de pesca registradas foram a pargueira, espinhel de superfície, meia água e de fundo, rede de emalhe, de arrasto e de cerco. As artes de pesca direcionadas a espécies-alvo se mostraram bem específicas e sempre direcionadas àquelas de maior valor comercial, com exceção para o espinhel de fundo, que demonstrou índice de captura semelhante para diversas espécies, sendo difícil apontar uma espécie-alvo para essa arte de pesca. O resultado desse estudo chamou a atenção em relação a captura de elasmobrânquio em um determinara arte de pesca, diante desse exposto foram analisados dados referentes ao esforço e a captura de espadarte (Xiphias gladius), anequim (Isurus oxyrinchus) e tubarão azul (Prionace glauca), obtidos nos desembarques pesqueiros da frota artesanal de espinhel de meia água que atuam no Sudeste Brasileiro. Comparando-se a contribuição percentual dessas espécies, se observa que espadarte apresentou maior contribuição (55%). O anequim foi a segunda espécie com maior representação sobre peso total desembarcado (24%). O tubarão azul apresentou 9% de contribuição, juntos os tubarões representaram cerca de 33% do total capturado. Essa captura elevada de tubarões como pesca incidental pode estar relacionado com o tipo de anzol utilizado pela frota associado ao cabo de aço. Para que ocorra pesca direcionada de forma sustentável é importante que algumas atitudes sejam tomadas, a forma de utilização do espinhel de meia água pode estar necessitando de alguns ajustes na forma de atuação para que espécies em status de ameaçada possam se recuperar sem que a pressão de pesca continue acontecendo de forma implícita.
