The study was carried out using four Mangalarga Marchador stallions. The animals were divided into two groups: GI (n = 4), administering 5ml of saline and GII (n = 4), administering 5000 IU of hCG (5ml) (Chorulon?) both i.v., in bollus. In each month the procedures were subdivided into two cycles (CI and CII) with six days (D) each and with a three day interval between cycles. On odd days two horses were evaluated, one from each group and on even days the other two from each group. For C2, the cross-over experimental rotational scheme was used, where: CI = animal 1 (GI) and 2 (GII) evaluated on days D1, D3 and D5 and animal 3 (GI) and 4 (GII) on D2, D4 and D6; CII = animal 1 (GII) and 2 (GI) evaluated on days D1, D3, D5 and animal 3 (GII) and 4 (GI) on D2, D4 and D6. The treatment was done only on the first day of each cycle (D1 and D2). There was an interval of 3 days between cycles. After the treatments and with the animals contained and reassured with 2% Xylazine Hydrochloride (0.00028 mg ? kg), ultrasonography (US) was performed in Doppler color mode, assessing the percentage of vascularization of the testes and in the spectral Doppler mode, RI was measured in the testicular artery one hour before and immediately after each semen collection. During the collection of semen, Flehmen's reflex frequency and number of erections without erection, reaction time to erection and duration of mating were evaluated. The collected semen was submitted to quality analyzes (evaluation of total volume, filtration, motility, vigor and concentration). All data were submitted to chi-square and ANOVA tests with significance of 5%. When analyzing the results, it was observed that there were no statistical differences (P> 0.05) for the following variables: testicular artery RI, Flehmen reflex frequency, number of erections without erection, reaction time to erection, duration of Total volume, filtration, motility, vigor and concentration between groups treated with hCG or saline solution, nor between the different seasons of the year. It was concluded that administration of a single dose of 5000 IU of hCG in stallions was not sufficient to cause changes in testicular artery blood flow as measured by the Doppler index of resistivity, nor did it cause changes in behavior in the experimental conditions studied. Foram avaliadas as caracter?sticas reprodutivas de garanh?es atrav?s da estimula??o das c?lulas de Leydig com Gonadotrofina Cori?nica Humana (hCG) durante as esta??es do ano nos meses de: janeiro, abril, julho e outubro de 2016, no Departamento de Reprodu??o e Avalia??o Animal da UFRRJ. O estudo foi realizado utilizando quatro garanh?es da ra?a Mangalarga Marchador. Os animais foram divididos em dois grupos: GI (n=4), administrando 5ml de solu??o salina e GII (n=4), administrando 5000 UI de hCG (5ml) (Chorulon?), ambos i.v., in bollus. Em cada m?s os procedimentos foram subdivididos em dois ciclos (CI e CII) com seis dias (D) cada e com um intervalo de tr?s dias entre os ciclos. Nos dias impares avaliou-se dois cavalos, um de cada grupo e nos dias pares os outros dois de cada grupo. Para o C2, seguiu-se o esquema experimental rotacional ?cross over?, onde: CI = animal 1 (GI) e 2 (GII) avaliados nos dias D1, D3 e D5 e animal 3 (GI) e 4(GII) em D2, D4 e D6; CII= animal 1(GII) e 2 (GI) avaliados nos dias D1, D3, D5 e animal 3 (GII) e 4 (GI) em D2, D4 e D6. O tratamento foi feito apenas no primeiro dia de cada ciclo (D1 e D2). Houve um intervalo de 3 dias entre os ciclos. Seguidamente aos tratamentos e com os animais contidos e tranquilizados com Cloridrato de Xilazina 2% (0,00028 mg ? kg), foi realizada a ultrassonografia (US), em modo color Doppler aferindo a porcentagem de vasculariza??o dos test?culos e no modo Doppler espectral, aferiu-se o RI, na art?ria testicular, uma hora antes de cada coleta de s?men e imediatamente ap?s. Durante as coletas de s?men, foram avaliados: frequ?ncia de reflexo de Flehmen e de montas sem ere??o, tempo de rea??o ? ere??o e dura??o da monta. O s?men coletado foi submetido ?s an?lises de qualidade (avalia??o de volume total, filtrado, motilidade, vigor e concentra??o). Todos os dados obtidos foram submetidos aos testes Qui-quadrado e ANOVA com signific?ncia de 5%. Ao analisar os resultados, observou-se que n?o houve diferen?as estat?sticas (P>0,05) para as seguintes vari?veis: RI da art?ria testicular, frequ?ncia de reflexo de Flehmen, n? de montas sem ere??o, tempo de rea??o ? ere??o, dura??o da monta, volume total, filtrado, motilidade, vigor e concentra??o, entre os grupos tratados com hCG ou com solu??o salina, nem entre as diferentes esta??es do ano. Conclui-se que a administra??o de uma ?nica dose de 5000 UI de hCG em garanh?es n?o foi suficiente para causar altera??es no fluxo sangu?neo da art?ria testicular, mensurado pelo ?ndice Doppler de resistividade, como tamb?m n?o ocasionou altera??es no comportamento nas condi??es experimentais pesquisadas
