Esta tese é resultante de uma investigação realizada junto à Linha de Pesquisa em Educação, Trabalho e Movimentos Sociais do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação da Universidade Federal de Goiás. Objetivou apreender e analisar as instâncias formativas e lugares formadores de sujeitos nos povoados de São Raimundo e Nunes, no município de Ananás, no extremo norte do Estado do Tocantins. A pesquisa contou com uma elaboração teórica dos conceitos de cultura e formação de sujeitos, e teve como fundamentação teórica da pesquisa, principalmente: uma discussão sobre cultura a partir de Gramsci embasando a ―Nova Esquerda‖ marxista inglesa Thompson, Williams e Eagleton e os autores brasileiros Bosi, Chauí, Coutinho e Schwarz; uma reflexão sobre a questão agrária com base na teoria dos campos em Bourdieu; e uma construção teórico-prática da ideia de educação de sujeitos a partir de Brandão. Na pesquisa de campo, foi utilizada a etnografia para levantamento de situações do cotidiano de vida, trabalho e lazer; além disso, foram realizadas duas entrevistas semi-estruturadas. A primeira com moradores pioneiros da ocupação populacional nos dois povoados, considerados e a segunda entrevista com casais na faixa etária entre 30 a 52 anos de idade. A realização da pesquisa permitiu afirmar, sobre os processos sociais verificados em povoados tocantinenses, que a educação dos sujeitos se faz na organização espacial e relacional de cada povoado, e ainda que os sujeitos residentes em povoados são históricos e lidam com novos mecanismos de tensão, relações de poder e conflitos entre a permanência do tradicional e a emergência do novo. This thesis results from an investigation conducted by the Research Line called ―Education, Labor and Social Movements‖ in the Graduation Program in Education at Universit Federal of Goiás. It aimed to apprehend and analyze education instances and the places where education happens in the villages of São Raimundo and Nunes, in the city of Ananás, in the far northern of the state of Tocantins. This research had a theoretical collaboration of the concepts of culture and people education, and had as theoretical subsidy, mainly: a discussion of culture based on Gramsci "New Left" Marxist English - Thompson, Williams and Eagleton and Brazilian authors Bosi, Chaui, Coutinho and Schwarz, a reflection on the agrarian matter based on the theory of fields of Bourdieu, and a theoretical-practical idea of education of people from Brandão. In the field research, it was used the ethnography method to collect data about everyday situations of life, work and leisure, in addition, there were two semi-structured interviews. The first with pioneer residents of the occupation of the land of both towns and the second with couples aged between 30 and 52 years old. The research allowed us to explain, about the social processes observed in Tocantins villages, that education of people is done in the relational and spatial organization of each village, and also that the people from villages are historical and deal with new mechanisms of tension, relations of power and conflicts between the permanence of the traditional and the emergency of the new.

São estudados 666 pares de indivíduos, sendo 344 masculinos e 322 femininos, com sorologia positiva/negativa para doença de Chagas, obtidos em inquérito sorológico-eletrocardiográfico entre populações rurais não selecionadas de 17 municípios do sul Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Na análise dos eletrocardiogramas foram consideradas só as alterações sugestivas de cardiopatia chagásica: bloqueio átrio-ventricular de 1º, e 2º e 3º, BCRD isolado ou associado ao HBAE, HBAE isolado, extrasístoles ventriculares freqüentes e/ou polifocais e/ou bigeminadas e trigeminadas; alterações de ST e T; zonas eletricamente inativas. Com este critério apresentaram eletrocardiogramas alterados 201 pessoas soropositivas (30,2%) e 66 soronegativas (9,9%). O gradiente de 20,3%, sendo 21,5% nos homens e 18,9% nas mulheres, mostrou-se significativo ao nível de p < 0,001. A study of 666 matched pairs (344 males and 322 females) with positive/negative complement fixation test for Chagas' disease is reported. The pairs were obtained at random by a serological and eletrocardiographical study among rural people of an endemic area in Southern Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil (17 municipalities). Besides non specific ECG alterations, the following abnormalities suggestive of Chagas' aetiology were found: atrio-ventricular complete or incomplete block; right bundle branch block either isolated or in association with left hemiblock; frequent and/or polyfocal and/or bigeminated or trigeminated premature beats; abnormalities in ST and T; eletrically inactive areas. According to these criteria 201 seropositive (30.2%) and 66 seronegative (9.9%) individuals showed abnormal ECG signs. The 20.3% gradient, (21.5% in male and 18.9% in female pairs), of the matched pairs was significant at p < 0,001 level. According to these results, a significant prevalence of eletrocardiografical abnormalities suggesting chagastic cardiomiopathy occurs in seropositive individuals.
