The aim of this study was to identify the perceptions of civil servants at a water and sewage company in a city in the interior of Rondônia about aspects related to QWL. The research, which was descriptive in nature and took a qualitative approach, involved 14 civil servants from this institution, who answered a sociodemographic and work-related form, 12 of whom also answered an interview about their perceptions of QWL. The sociodemographic data was analyzed using statistical procedures and the interviews were transcribed and subjected to content analysis. The respondents' perceptions of what they understood by QWL were different from those that referred to the QWL actually provided by the organization studied. In the company's environment, the categories Socio-professional Work Relationships and Work-Social Life Link were those with the highest number of positive aspects in the respondents' assessment, unlike others such as Recognition and Personal Growth, Work Organization and Working Conditions, in which many challenging aspects to QWL were identified, and it should be noted that the latter was pointed out as one of the main desirable elements for achieving quality of life in the workplace. This study has provided a basis for reflection on the company's work environment, identifying critical areas and suggesting strategies for action, since those surveyed perceive their QWL to be average, considering that there are various aspects, including health protection and well-being, which require action on the part of the institution studied. ABSTRACT Aging in the countryside is one of the major problems for cooperatives and is linked to the rural exodus of young people, together with the lack of interest in managing the father's property. With this, the objective of this research is to develop a shared family management program, using the Lean Six Sigma methodology, focused on design (DMADV - Define - Measure - Analyze - Draw - Verify), to assist in the transition of management. In this study, action research was used, applied to a context of difficulty and uncertainties regarding the future of the members in their succession, involving the maximum of tools that the DMADV itself has in its method. The project was accompanied from the beginning, when the definitions of the opportunities, the clients' requirements, the use of the best concept, the development of a design and its implementation were conceived. In this way, three main programs were created for the successor from childhood to adulthood, with proximity to the cooperative, personal development and training to administrate the property in the future. Emerging adulthood refers to the period of human development between adolescence and adulthood, which includes individuals between the ages of 18 and 29. The main characteristics of emerging adulthood are identity exploration, instability, self-focus, feelings of ambivalence, and a period of possibility. Due to the difficulties and challenges inherent to this period, the mental health of emerging adults must be promoted. One of the ways to positively contribute to increasing and maintaining the mental health of this population is the development of a sense of meaning in life. This theoretical study aimed to present the importance of meaning in life for the healthy development of emerging adults and contribute to discussions on this topic in the light of developmental psychology. To this end, the definition and importance of emerging adulthood, the specificities of emerging adulthood in the Brazilian context, the implications of meaning in life for the mental health of emerging adults, and the studies on meaning in life in emerging adulthood are presented and discussed. The research results indicate that the presence of a sense of meaning in life in emerging adults is related to processes of personal growth, self-realization, and positive mental functioning and that promoting meaning in life in this population can strengthen commitment to life itself and protect against risky behaviors. It is suggested that interventions that consider the specificities of emerging adulthood in the Brazilian context with a focus on meaning in life be carried out to contribute to the prevention and promotion of mental health in this population. Covil is a self-managed social centre in Lisbon. Anarchist, connected to the punk scene and located in an area of the city that houses specific dynamics of collective resistance, it contrasts with the hegemonic city of gentrification. An epicentre of resistance, it is experienced as a space of collective and personal development and emancipation. Introduction: Cerebral palsy (CP) is a degenerative, non-progressive disease that affects the muscles and development in countless children, a consequence of an injury that affects the central nervous system in the phase of structural and functional maturation. The incidence of CP in Brazil is around 30 to 40 thousand new cases per year. Objective: to understand the strategies and difficulties experienced by the family in living and caring for the child with cerebral palsy, focusing on the management and daily adaptations that the mother has developed since the discovery of the diagnosis of CP. Method: Qualitative case study carried out with a mother residing in a city in the interior of the State of São Paulo. Data collections were carried out at the interviewee's home with recorded questions and answers. Results: Family arrangements were found to meet the child's needs and incorporate the necessary care for the child's survival in the family routine. Conclusion: The case report allowed to know the various practical, psychological and family issues of the mother's daily life in the face of integral care to the child with cerebral palsy and evidenced the importance of social support in this process. The present work aims to review studies related to the development of social skills in high school students from the perspective of school psychology. The research is a bibliographic review of the exploratory qualitative type. Searches were conducted in the databases of Google Scholar, Scielo and ResearchGate. The descriptors "social skills", "school psychology" and "high school" were used. The inclusion criteria were articles that have the theme on the development of social skills in high school students from the perspective of school psychology, published between 2011 and 2021. It was found that students who have elaborate social skills tend to relate more effectively with peers and teachers, which can result in a positive teaching-learning process. Socially elaborated repertoire also allows greater autonomy and coherence for the professional choice of these students. The article entitled "Perceptions of Brazilian youth with cerebral palsy about their personal development during the transition to adulthood" explores the perceptions of young people with cerebral palsy (CP) regarding their personal development during the transition to adulthood. The descriptive cross-sectional study involved 111 young people with CP, who answered a questionnaire containing 23 topics related to the transition to adulthood. The results showed that young people consider it essential to understand and accept their disability, believe in themselves, and overcome challenges during this phase. The "emotional myopia" hypothesis is a theoretical reflection to increase the understanding of the psychological vulnerability showed by many drug addicts Instead of an incorporation, a cooperation is proposed of levels of knowledge on the determinants of the neurodevelopment, psychoanalytical and attachment perspectives and psychobiological models of drug addictions. Environmental inputs that change brain morphology are highlighted, not only early trauma or care deprivation but also others derived from the long-term use of drugs as the core of vulnerability. We propose that Damasio's hypothesis of somatic markers forms part of this theoretical formulation. The low quality of early social interactions may support an increasing emotional disengagement, a poor maturation of the social brain, an increase of alexithymic patterns and noveltyseeking behaviours, all potential triggers for searching for pleasure in drugs. The objective of this study was to assess the association among sexual maturation (SM), overweight and central adiposity in children and adolescents. A total of 617 children and adolescents age 8 to 18 years old participated in the longitudinal study. Three samples were collected including data on weight, height and waist circumference. Overweight was classi-fied based on critical values for body mass index (BMI) adopted for Brazilian children and teenagers. SM stage (SMS) was done by self-assessment in three children and adolescent samples. Participants were distributed in quartiles based on SMS and sex. Accelerated-maturing subjects were compared to others. Data was analyzed by linear regression and logistic regression. We found a negative association between BMI z-score and onset of SM in boys, whereas for girls relatively-accelerated SM was positively associated to overweight and values of BMI z-score. Relatively-accelerated maturing girls showed more central adi-posity. The research concluded that accelerated SM was associated to overweight and high-er increase in BMI for both sexes, highlighting the importance of identifying SMS in nutri-tional assessment for children and teenagers. This paper aims to relate the discourse of human centered design (HCD) proposed in the literature of Klaus Krippendorff with the methods proposed by the IDEO company, and analyze which and how these methods have been employed in the brazilian design research through articles published in the last two editions of P&D congress. The research is a bibliographical study with comparative character, which is used the discourse analysis. Thus, it is possible to observe that HCD methods are more present in the beggining and intermediate stages of research, emphasizing the need for further development of such methods in the final stage of studies. In an attempt to unveiling this identity in order to find elements that contribute to the construction of the teaching profession, we started with the assumption of the importance of investing in personal development teacher, contemplating their affection. This study aims to highlight the importance of art education for the fundamental, well ahead of his contributions to teaching and learning process of children in this age group. The research problem that has guided us to develop such a material interest is: Why in our everyday art is losing its importance to education front? This article aims to discuss the contribution of Distance Education to improve the quality of life for the elderly. The aim of this paper is to characterize the action of the social educator by investigating their professional profile with the project Projovem Teenager in the city of Presidente Prudente /SP. Some studies suggest the existence of distinct maturation moments of the attentional system. This study investigated the selection patterns of visual information through a perceptual load task performed by three age groups: children, adults and elderly people. In general, the obtained results indicate a decrease of the efficiency in the process of information selection under low perceptual load in the group of elderly people, and a decrease of the selection efficiency under conditions of high and low perceptual load in the group composed by children. This study examines the role of preceptor in the medical residency program, based on the perceptions of preceptors in clinical specialties of a university hospital. Through a descriptive research, it uses the technique of non-directive interview, to study the phenomenon from the speech of 16 preceptors. It uses the content analysis, weaving a relationship with the literature. It is perceived that the tutor takes on several roles. There are references to the tutor, supervisor and mentor. He plans, manages, guides; stimulates thinking and active attitude; observes the performance; advises and looks after the professional and personal growth; observes and evaluates the resident running its activities; acts in the moral formation. The importance of the preceptor as an educator is great, offering the learner environments, enabling it to construct and reconstruct knowledge. The preceptor teaches performing technical procedures and moderating the discussion of cases. Heassumes role of teacher-clinician, a professional who dominates the clinical practice and educational aspects related to it, making it a suitable educational environment and time. Identifying learning opportunities and exposure scenarios, the medical residency preceptor serves as a showcase of technical and relational attributes, providing real opportunities for developing actual technical and ethical scenarios for professional practice. During the last decades major social changes have introduced some special features into the transition to adulthood. On one hand the transition to adulthood tends to occur in later ages. The learning processes that occur at work place constitute the focus of the study. The goal is to identify and to analyze the learning processes at work place of individuals that don't exercise the managerial function. At the theoretical level a social perspective of organizational learning is adopted. At the methodological level a basic qualitative study was carried out in two teams of a company of chemical fertilizers. The results evidence the importance of the informal processes of learning through the contributions of the experiences obtained in the work context. It was identified the objectives, opportunities, obstacles and the results of the processes of learning. The relevance of the social interaction, of the learning by doing and of the organizational context were highlights in the learning processes. The study adds subsidies to the professionals of the area of Human Resources in the elaboration of a critical analysis about the current practices and politics of personnel development in organizations. This study aim to investigate the physical activity levels of older adults and its effect on life satisfaction, self-esteem and personal growth. A sample of 168 elderly persons of both sexes with ages between 60 and 95 years (M= 72.06, SD= 6.83) was used. Results reveal that about 41.1% of the sample is physically inactive, while only 31.5% of the older adults reported physical activity levels equal or above international recommended amounts. Correlation and comparative analysis demonstrate that physical activity participation is associated with higher levels of life satisfaction, self-esteem and personal growth, and that this effect is superior in the elderly people who practice at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity on five or more days a week. The objective of this work is to identify the characteristics of the initiatives in distance learning via the Internet in major private Brazilian companies. To do so, 12 Human Resource professionals from major companies involved with distance learning via the Internet were interviewed. Despite the international success of Brazilian volleyball, the formation process of our athletes is not well known. A greater attention to the talent selection and promotion process may improve even more the results. This study investigated the age at which female athletes from high levels of performance initiate volleyball training and their age of menarche. 79 athletes from Brazilian teams were evaluated. Athletes of a higher competitive level showed later menarche and later beginning of the volleyball training process. This article pretends to define the psychological concept of the Self from its historical roots onwards, after which a critical comparison is made of the ways the principal schools of psychology see it. Special attention is give to the Rogerian model of the self and its central position in the theory of personality.
