ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: One anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) has gained prominence in the search for better results in bariatric surgery. However, its efficacy and safety compared to Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) and sleeve gastrectomy (SG) remain ill-defined. AIMS: To compare the efficacy and safety of OAGB relative to RYGB and SG in the treatment of obesity. METHODS: We systematically searched PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Lilacs, and Google Scholar databases for randomized controlled trials comparing OAGB with RYGB or SG in the surgical approach to obesity. We pooled outcomes for body mass index, percentage of excess weight loss, type-2 diabetes mellitus remission, complications, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. Statistical analyses were performed with R software (version 4.2.3). RESULTS: Data on 854 patients were extracted from 11 randomized controlled trials, of which 422 (49.4%) were submitted to OAGB with mean follow-up ranging from six months to five years. The meta-analysis revealed a significantly higher percentage of excess weight loss at 1-year follow-up and a significantly lower body mass index at 5-year follow-up in OAGB patients. Conversely, rates of type-2 diabetes mellitus remission, complications, and gastroesophageal reflux disease were not significantly different between groups. The overall quality of evidence was considered very low. CONCLUSIONS: Our results corroborate the comparable efficacy of OAGB in relation to RYGB and SG in the treatment of obesity, maintaining no significant differences in type-2 diabetes mellitus remission, complications, and gastroesophageal reflux disease rates.

Abstract (it) Facendo dialogare Sayad con altrɜ autorɜ, quest’articolo propone il concetto di presentificazione intendendolo come un uso politico del tempo da parte degli Stati-nazione, funzionale all’assoggettamento delle persone.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of a 6-week outdoor exercise program on children's enjoyment, development and self-perception of motor competence versus indoor. A total of 99 school-age children (6-8 years) were randomly allocated into an outdoor (OG, n = 49) or an indoor (IG, n = 50) group; the OG performed moderate to vigorous aerobic exercises and team games outdoors and the IG the same intervention program but indoors. At baseline and after the intervention, motor competence (i.e., locomotor skills and object control skills) was assessed through 6 motor tests from the Motorfit battery, and enjoyment and self-perceived motor competence (i.e., locomotor skills and object control skills) were assessed through the Physical Activity Enjoyment Scale – Italian Version (PACES-it) and Pictorial Scale of Perceived Movement Skill Competence (PMSC-2), respectively. After 6 weeks, compared to the IG, the OG showed significant improvements (p < 0.001) in: Motorfit tests, i.e. locomotor skills (d = 0.69) and object control skills (d = 1.21); PACES-it (d = 0.56); and PMSC, i.e. locomotor skills (d = 0.49) and object control skills (d = 0.36). No significant changes were found for the IG (p > 0.05). Findings show the positive impact of outdoor exercise programs on school-aged children's enjoyment, development and self-perception of motor competence versus indoor, highlighting the importance of environmental factors and the potential benefits of structured outdoor interventions.

Representation based on the visualization of reality, acquired through active and passive sensors, has allowed a rethinking of the traditional cognitive and communicative process. The Vitruvian approach has been replaced by the discrete visualization of large number of point-images. Image- or range-based coordinates allow to overcome the limitations of the drawing or photographic image, configuring a 3D model that can be explored in any direction and detail, even remotely. Automatic and semi-automatic procedures manage the information to be conveyed to the numerical control of the models. Many scientific papers deal with the certified reliability of the data or the optimization of the models; several papers discuss the development of programmed instructions to automate the “intelligent” recognition of components in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Heritage Building Information Modeling (H-BIM) workflows. However, few discussions focus on the heuristic value of using time-saving procedures. The phases of acquisition, processing, critical synthesis, and communication of results are now included in a single workflow centered on the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to capture and transfer the archived information framework. This unified process has affected research and teaching methods, as well as the way in which information is disseminated and citizens are involved, in order to obtain the approval and thus the resources needed for the political management of heritage.Starting from these considerations, it seemed appropriate to recontextualize a process that is not limited to the improvement of fast and simplified operations, as an alternative to calculations congruent with the purpose of the project or survey. Indeed, the call for this issue was intended to propose and encourage a broader reflection of current research trends and to stimulate discussion on the limits and potentials of advanced automation processes in relation to the comparison of established and innovative practices. The awareness gained from digital language shows the widespread reconsideration of geometric logic. A trend that can be clearly seen in the papers dealing with the digital representation of complex vaulted systems or design solutions based on the reinterpretation of the Vitruvian concept of scenography. Less obvious, but no less diriment for this reason, are the geometric considerations that support quad-dominant remeshing or retopology solutions, according to the lexicon of computer graphics.Refined geometric solutions to improve analysis and details applicable to “reliable copies” of the virtually reconstructed object to control the change of state in the physical duplicate can also be observed in reverse modeling techniques. In parallel, the evolution of digital language with services provided by the network enhances the physical experience, improving it with the help of virtual content to guide meaningful experiences. In this dual perspective, the title of the volume alludes to the path, cyclical and interactive, that unites, without confusing, the construction of image- and range-based, in order to use them as spaces of collaboration suitable for the active dissemination of knowledge.DOI: https://doi.org/10.20365/disegnarecon.32.2024.ed

Gastric diverticulum represents a rare disorder of the gastrointestinal system. Although most patients are asymptomatic and the finding of this condition is often incidental, a large diverticulum may be related to upper abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea and emesis. In more severe cases, diverticula may cause ulcerations, perforation or even hemorrhage. The diagnosis is usually difficult, the symptoms can be common to a series of other gastrointestinal disorders, turning the anamnesis and physical examination not very specific. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy is recommended for correct visualization of the location and size of the lesion. Surgical resection is considered the main treatment of this condition in symptomatic patients or patients with complications. We describe the case of a young patient with diverticulum in the gastric fundus, and a brief review of the literature.

The collection of essays presented in this volume, the fifth issue of Compendium, provides a literary and cultural mapping of the Atlantic that, through a critical-theoretical post-colonial perspective and a comparative approach, enables us to (re)assess the circulation of texts and cultures within the Atlantic space in the light of unequal power relations that are intrinsic to colonial modernity. Furthermore, the collection highlights the multiple forms of micro- and macro-physical violence underlying contemporary migrations which have always borne the scars of the colonial nature of knowledge and power. This dossiercomprises a series of essays that engage in dialogue with the social sciences, pedagogy, and literary studies, alongside two critical reviews.

The static equilibrium of cylindrical wood pieces in a close-packed order is analyzed. By considering the coefficient of static friction μ L between two adjacent logs and the coefficient of static friction μ G between the logs and the ground, it is demonstrated that the more stringent condition for static equilibrium arises from μ L. This holds true for both systems comprising three logs and those with six logs. The value of the lower threshold μ ~ L for equilibrium is greater for a system with six logs compared to three logs. This problem could serve as a study project in Newtonian mechanics for first-year college students or for advanced high-school physics students.

ABSTRACT The objective of this article is to evaluate the effect of financial slack on the value relevance of environmental expenditures in Brazilian capital market firms. The Brazilian literature, unlike the foreign literature, has neglected to investigate the value relevance of environmental performance information. The study addresses the combination of environmental information with the financial condition of firms within the scope of value relevance, obtaining evidence not yet contemplated in the literature on the Brazilian capital market. It is noteworthy that the financial perspective strongly influences the valuation of firms in terms of the environmental dimension. Companies that engage in environmental spending and are in a better financial position are better valued and considered economically interesting. The same is not true for firms in a worse financial position. The study shows how the environmental dimension, which is not a priority from the shareholder's point of view, can be the object of investor attention if the financial condition requirement is met. The market monitors environmental expenditures in order to assess much more the extent of the effects of these expenditures on the generation of future cash flows rather than the company's environmental commitment. The sample includes 52 companies whose shares were traded on the B3 S.A. in the period 2009-2018, totaling 252 observations. The model proposed by Ohlson was used, adapted according to the literature, and operationalized in POLS models. In addition, analyses were reproduced considering the possible moderating effect of financial slack measures on the environmental spending proxy. The results indicate that environmental spending contributes to reducing the valuation of firms, signaling to investors only future economic costs. Financial slack was found to be an important element in the valuation of firms with environmental expenditures, and companies with environmental expenditures and greater financial slack had higher valuations than those with less financial slack.

Objective: Evidence on the relationship between depression and clinical dimensions of schizophrenia remains limited. This cross-sectional study investigated the association between depression and Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) dimensions in people with schizophrenia spectrum disorders. Methods: Trained assessors administered the PANSS to measure symptoms of schizophrenia and the Calgary Depression Scale for Schizophrenia to measure depression. The association of depression with overall PANSS score and related dimensions was investigated in multiple logistic regression analyses. Results: We included 231 inpatients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders (mean age: 42.4 (SD: 12.9) years; men: 58.9%; mean overall PANSS score: 82.5 (SD: 20.1); drug-free or naïve: 39.3%), including 78 (33.8%) with clinically significant depressive symptoms. Depression was associated with higher overall (regression coefficient, SE: 0.029, 0.008; p < 0.001) and general psychopathology (regression coefficient, SE: 0.118, 0.023; p < 0.001) PANSS scores. We found an inverse relationship between depression and positive symptoms (regression coefficient, SE: -0.088, 0.028; p = 0.002). No association between depression and negative symptoms was found. Conclusion: Despite some limitations, our study shows that people affected by schizophrenia spectrum disorders with depression are likely to show more overall and general psychopathology symptoms but lower positive symptoms. Additional studies are needed to explore the generalizability of our findings.

The ergogenecity of caffeine (CAF) and pre-exercise music have been studied extensively in male and mixed-gender groups, but there is limited information on their synergistic effects in females. This study assessed the effects of combining a low dose of CAF with warm-up music on taekwondo specific performance, perceived exertion (RPE), and psychological aspects in female athletes. In a double-blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled crossover study, 16 female taekwondo athletes (M ± SD; age: 17.69 ± 0.60 years) performed the taekwondo-specific agility test (TSAT), 10 s frequency speed of kick test (FSKT-10s) and its multiple version (FSKT-mult) under the following conditions: 1) no supplement with music (NS+M); 2) no supplement without music (control); 3) CAF without music (CAF+NM), 4) placebo without music (PL+NM), 5) CAF with music (CAF+M), 6) PL with music (PL+M). After each test, athletes rated their RPE, feeling scale (FS), felt arousal scale (FAS) and physical enjoyment (PACES). CAF+M induced better physical performance than other conditions on the FSKT-10s, FSKT-mult, and more desirable psychophysiological responses including RPE post_TSAT, RPE post_FSKT-10s, PACES post_FSKT-10s, FS, FAS post_warm-up, FAS post_FSKT-10s and FAS post_FSKT-mult (all p < 0.05). Except for PL+M, CAF+M also elicited more desirable responses than other conditions for FAS post_TSAT (p < 0.05). Furthermore, CAF+M and CAF+NM conditions enhanced TSAT, PACES post_TSAT, RPE post_FSKT-mult greater than the other conditions (p < 0.05). Preceding warm-up music stimulus with a low dose of CAF may be a more efficient strategy to enhance physical performance and affective valence in female taekwondo athletes compared with using either strategy in isolation.

Digital surveying and rapid prototyping techniques are important tools to support processes related to cultural and architectural heritage. Digital surveying can be used to document, analyse, and enjoy the built heritage thanks to point clouds and detailed digital models resulting from the processing of data acquired during field activities. 3D printing, on the other hand, enables the creation of realistic physical replicas of heritage artefacts that can support activities related to analysis, documentation, conservation, valorisation and enjoyment. The use and combination of these techniques to architectural and cultural heritage have brought benefits and advantages since digital and physical replicas can be used in the processes of documenting, analysing, preserving and enhancing historical artefacts by promoting their accessibility on multiple levels. The paper discusses the results of research aimed at defining and testing an effective workflow for the development of physical models suitable for the analysis, documentation and communication of architectural heritage. The experimentation was performed considering as a case study a peculiar element of architecture, a historical portal. The paper illustrates the technical challenges faced starting from the photogrammetric survey to the digital reconstruction of the analysed artefact for 3D printing, with a focus on the printing parameter settings used to produce physical replicas with high-quality, but different resolutions and scales, to be used for several purposes, such as analysis and documentation and education and communication.DOI: https://doi.org/10.20365/disegnarecon.31.2023.18

In the context of 3D surveying methods, the role of drones is growing in importance. The capacity to approach the object and acquire both photos and videos from points that are highly inaccessible from the ground make these devices an efficient tool on the architectural and territorial scales, whether anthropized or not. Even more widespread are so-called unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), inoffensive and lighter than 250 g, due to the simplification of the related standards and continued improvements in their acquisition devices. The most advanced photo-modelling programs are now able to process video clips directly, automatically selecting the photos suitable for input in scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) and speeded up robust features (SURF) algorithms, essential aspects of structure from motion (SfM). This technological progress constitutes a significant jump in automating SfM investigations, especially when made with UAS. With this background, the case study presented here is the sighting tower of Capo d’Omo, situated atop Mount Argentario near Grosseto. Two questions are addressed: assessment of the metric reliability of a model automatically reconstructed from video clips (in this case, taken from an UAS) through comparison with a model acquired from an active sensor device; and a study of its potential and possible use in the SfM workflow, also considering the limited software and hardware requirements necessary to process this type of product.DOI: https://doi.org/10.20365/disegnarecon.30.2023.6

Abstract: Disasters cause changes in morbidity, mortality, and medicine use. Brazil is one of the main producers of mineral ores at great environmental cost. Mine tailings are stored in dams and ruptures have led to major disasters. We investigated the consumption of psychoactive medicines in the municipalities affected by the Fundão dam disaster in Minas Gerais State. An ecological study was carried out on drug consumption, estimated using public purchases in Minas Gerais and dispensing data from private retail pharmacies. Consumption (in number of defined daily doses/100,000 inhabitants per day) was analyzed descriptively in eight municipalities, stratified according to consumption level during a 25-month period. Six comparisons of mean consumption values for both data sets were done for pre- and post-disaster periods. The means of medicine consumption before and after the event were plotted and linear trends were added. Public purchase data evinced high consumption levels. Only pharmaceutical retail showed significant differences between the strata in the pre-disaster versus two post-disaster periods. Smaller municipalities showed an increase in consumption 15 months after the disaster. Clonazepam led the way in pharmaceutical retail consumption, followed by fluoxetine. Medicines showed an upward trend after the disaster. The high public provision may have stifled significant consumption patterns of psychoactive drugs; however, peak consumption were observed in private retail, suggesting a modification in use patterns after the disaster. The decrease in consumption immediately after the event was probably related to lower care-seeking behavior on the part of the population, and significant peaks after the disaster may reflect economic consequences of it.

Ensuring wine quality is crucial. However, the rise in quercetin deposits in red wines, particularly those made from Sangiovese grapes, is escalating due to factors such as machine harvesting and climate change (Price et al., 1995; Blancquaert et al., 2019; Gambuti et al., 2020; Vendramin et al., 2022). This issue extends beyond mere visual inconveniences linked to bottled wine to concerns about potential organoleptic damage. Currently used methods, such as PVPP fining, are prohibited in organic wine production under EU regulation n. 203/2012. To address this issue, the present study explored an organic-friendly solution that involves the use of a pectolytic enzyme with secondary glycosidase activity. The enzyme was validated in Chianti wine production and was observed to significantly accelerate the hydrolysis of glycosylated quercetins, giving their aglycone form. This accelerated process enhanced deposition before bottling without causing significant wine colour depletion, thus can be considered a promising approach even for organic winemakers.

Introduction: Histological analysis is the main tool for evaluating acellular bioprostheses, mostly on an experimental basis. The objective is to histologically analyze the acellular matrix of bovine pericardium in abdominal wall repairs implanted in humans. Method: From a series of 30 repairs with the membrane, 3 patients underwent surgical revision unrelated to the implants at 13, 22, and 23 months postoperatively, obtaining biopsies of the previously implanted areas. In addition to evaluating the basic aspects of biocompatibility and tissue neoformation, the slides were digitalized and subjected to computerized analysis with the ImageJ software to quantify the kinetics of membrane degradation associated with the analysis of the fractal dimension of the samples. The values obtained for percentages of residual membrane had their means compared by analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the unpaired Student’s T test, also used for the fractal dimension quantification values. Results: The biocompatibility of the material was demonstrated, with tissue neoformation, collagen deposition, and cellularized tissue with a normal appearance without important local reactions. Residual fragments of the membrane were quantified at 40%±7% at 13 months, at 20%±6% at 22 months, and at 17%±6% at 23 months postoperatively, with the analysis of the fractal dimension indicating a progressive degradation of implants, with statistical significance between 13 months and late samples. Conclusion: The results confirmed the functionality of the acellular bovine pericardium under different levels of mechanical stress in abdominal wall repairs in humans.

The very latest lines of European research in the field of Cultural Heritage are mainly focusing on disruptive global transitions through value and future-oriented strategies in a green and digital scenario. This approach stems from the concept of Heritage as a unique but nonrenewable resource, featuring multilayer cultural contents (tangible and intangible), and evolving in close correlation with the constantly changing components in the territory.Digitisation is increasingly confirming itself as an enabling factor for many practices involving cultural heritage. With specific regard to the built heritage, digital technologies provide functions that can catalyse and optimally support architecture knowledge and storytelling, which in turn enhance new levels of interaction, and can improve the active conservation and integrated management of heritage asset. Starting from this assumptions, Palazzo Olivieri-Machirelli in Pesaro (Italy) was studied for challenging trials. Nowadays, the historical building is used as a music conservatory thanks to the testamentary legacy of the Italian composer Gioachino Rossini and the homonymous Foundation, and incorporates the Auditorium Pedrotti, which is the focus of this research. Thus, this architecture was selected as a testing case for inventive and immersive experiences as well as for long-term management solutions and systems, which exploit the paradigm of Heritage – or Historic – Building Information Modelling (HIBIM) and the robust technology of Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR, VR), taking advantage of solid base in the survey phase, which developed an high-detailed 3D numerical model.DOI: https://doi.org/10.20365/disegnarecon.31.2023.3

Through a documentary and bibliographical analysis, the text seeks to demonstrate how much the most recent electoral processes – particularly since the 2009 general elections – have influenced the so-called “reverse transition”, i.e. the democratic regression of a country like Mozambique. Thus, the electoral processes show the deterioration of the Mozambican democratic system, constituting the most obvious mirror of the institutional weakness of a country that, moreover, has emphasised authoritarian elements and its repressive apparatus.

Abstract Politicians select their words meticulously, never losing sight of their ultimate communicative goal. Sometimes, their objective may be that of not being fully understood by a large portion of the audience. They can achieve this by means of dogwhistles; linguistic expressions that, in addition to their literal meaning, convey a concealed message to a specific sub-group of the audience. This paper focuses on the distinction between overt and covert dogwhistles introduced by J. Saul (2018). I argue that, even if the distinction successfully captures a genuine divide within the category of dogwhistles, the account proposed by Saul to explain the distinction is unsatisfactory. In response to this state of affairs, I illustrate how the distinction between overt and covert dogwhistle can be refined and illuminated by incorporating it into the 'Simple Theory' of dogwhistles advanced by J. Khoo (2017).

Abstract This article continues Vygotsky’s efforts in investigating the social genesis of affective generalization in artistic creative and reception process proposed in On the problem of the psychology of the actor’s creative work. Affective generalization abstracts emotions and feelings from the individual to the social plane and from the mundane to the hyper-generalized level. Based on an examination of Vygotsky’s aesthetic ideas, we introduced Chinese philosopher Defeng Wang’s work in philosophy of art under the existential approach. Finally, we propose to adopt the cultural psychology of semiotic mediation as a framework to capture this dynamic process.

Abstract Contemporary views of truth-directedness endorse what I shall call the Common-Element Argument. According to this argument, there is something in common between judgment and other attitudes like assumption and imagination: they all regard their contents as true. Since this regarding-as-true feature is not distinctive of judgment - the argument goes - it can’t explain its truth-directedness. On this ground, theorists have been motivated to endorse an inflationary view that tries to capture truth-directedness by appealing to some further feature: intentions, second-order representations, sub-personal mechanisms, or subjugation to norms are the most discussed candidates for fulfilling this role. In this paper I will argue that the Common-Element Argument is unsound. It rests on a false premise, namely that there is some common element such as a regarding-as-true component between judgment and other cognitive attitudes. I shall reject Velleman’s and Railton’s defenses of the Common-Element-Argument. Then I will discuss three influential inflationary accounts of truth-directedness: Railton’s account, Velleman’s teleological account, and Shah and Velleman’s conceptualist account. I shall argue that they all face a phenomenological and an explanatory challenge. Finally, I shall sketch a deflationary view of truth-directedness that evades these challenges.

Objectives: Although an association has been found recently between obsessive-compulsive disorder and an increased risk of suicide, the prevalence of both suicidal ideation and attempts vary considerably and are generally assessed categorically. Our aims were to evaluate the prevalence of suicidal ideation and behaviors using a dimensional approach. Methods: The sample included 129 patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder. Suicidality was assessed by administering the Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale. Logistic and linear regressions were used to examine predictors of suicidal ideation, severe suicidal ideation, and suicidal behavior. Results: The lifetime prevalence of suicidal ideation and behaviors were 64.3% and 16.3%, respectively. Lifetime suicidal ideation was associated with the number of stressful life events, duration of illness, Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression scores, and family history of mood disorders. A family history of obsessive-compulsive disorder was associated with a lower probability of lifetime suicidal ideation. Severe suicidal ideation was related to greater severity of the most stressful life event, Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression scores, and longer duration of untreated illness. The probability of lifetime suicidal behavior was related to Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety scores, symmetry obsessions, and washing and checking compulsions. The probability of lifetime non-suicidal self-injurious behaviors was related to Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety scores. Conclusions: Recognizing predictors of suicidal ideation/behavior is crucial to identifying patients at greater risk.

The essay highlights the process of three-dimensional acquisition and digitisation through HBIM of the Rocca Malatestiana of Verucchio, in the Rimini area. The case study presented is set in a context strategically located on a hill overlooking the Marecchia river valley with high orographic and interpretative difficulties due to the different overlapping historical layers. The Malatesta Fortress of Verucchio, which is built on a number of levels to accommodate the terrain’s orography, is perched atop the towering pinnacle of a rocky spur that dominates the Marecchia valley. Due to its location nearly 300 meters above sea level, overlooking the Adriatic Sea and the Apennines, the fortress—a symbol of the Malatesta family’s power—became a crucial strategic and defensive hub. It served as the main seat of Malatesta power along the coast and in the Marche region for centuries. The research group involved in the project of integrated three-dimensional survey and digitisation through BIM of the building of the Rocca di Verucchio has worked to give back to the small municipality a model for the management of the rich heritage of the place. The integrated scanning and HBIM implementation process has resulted in a coherent and highly informative digital model of the material, historical and typological conformation of the various parts of the artefact. The Verucchio case study exemplifies how the development of digital representation systems for architectural heritage is a field that is constantly evolving and is currently a focus of interest and innovation for all players in the field.DOI: https://doi.org/10.20365/disegnarecon.31.2023.2

ABSTRACT Objective: Identify the librarian presence in dentistry systematic reviews. The primary outcome was the frequency and role of librarian presence. The secondary outcomes were to assess whether there are differences regarding impact factor, strategy availability, number of databases, and registration of protocol, in the systematic reviews that included or not a librarian. Methods: It were included systematic reviews in dentistry, in English, published in dental journals, indexed from July 1st, 2018 to July 1st, 2019 available on MEDLINE/PubMed. For statistical analysis, the T-test and Pearson's chi-squared test were used. The significance level was 5%. Results: Among 280 included studies 14% systematic reviews mention librarian participation, 9% as consultants and 5% as co-authors. There was no statistical difference for impact factor (p=0.928) outcomes, search strategy available (p=0.850), and number of database (p=0.240) among the studies that had or not the presence of the librarian. The number of systematic reviews registered was higher when the librarian was present. The databases mentioned more frequently were MEDLINE, Cochrane, and Embase. Conclusion: The frequency of librarian participation in the included systematic reviews was 14%. The most frequent participation was as consultants. Systematic reviews with a librarian on the team were associated with more protocol registration.

Colégio Nossa Senhora de Lourdes ,patrimônio escolar ,periódicos ,territorialidade ,History of education ,LA5-2396 - Abstract

Assessment of vine water status is needed to understand the effect of environmental factors and management practices on dry-farmed and irrigated vineyards. Among plant-based indicators, carbon isotope discrimination (δ13C) is easily accessible, reliable, and inexpensive. As it provides a post-hoc assessment of vine water status during the berry ripening period, it can be useful for assessing the results of vineyard management practices during the season, and to map water status in the vineyard to aid in future precision management. Possible applications and limitations of this technique for practical vineyard management are discussed in this article.
